    Enjoyed the performance

by skeeech on 11/19/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The show was an enjoyable experience. My minor complaint was that it was not always easy to understand the words some of the characters were singing at times. Not sure if that was an issue with equipment or the performers.

    Les Mis - Chicago

by MusicOwl on 11/19/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I have seen Les Mis several times both in London and the US. This was an awesome performance. Perhaps one of the most energetic and powerful that I have seen. This 25th anniversary version has made some very worthwhile enhancements, especially to the stage sets. Kudos to the Chicago cast.

Weak singers and lack of energy

by DanWestChi on 11/19/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We saw it this Saturday night, and I don't know if some of the performers were ill or what. It seems like several of the leads were just going through the motions. And the performer who played Valjean's voice was very weak. Don't waste your money.

    Les Miserables was AMAZING!

by Shawnadee on 11/19/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I have seen this play a few times in Los Angeles but it has been years since I last saw it. I took my daughter to the touring show in Chicago as she is gong to be in a community theatre production of the show in February. I must say I was absolutely blown away by the cast! The singers were all so incredibly talented I, surprisingly, had tears flowing down my face through several numbers, purely based on the fact that I was witnessing such talent. Jean ValJean and Eponine in particular were great! Also have to give special kudos to Madame Thenardier...she was a hoot! Highly recommended!!!

    Les Miserables was fantastic!!!

    by madna728 on 11/19/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

This show catches you from the first bar and has you on the edge of your seat till the curtain falls. I laughed and cried. The performers voices we're second to none. My new favorite musical.

This is the Reason this Play has lasted 25 Years!

by FanBasia on 11/19/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The Venue was Beautiful, Organized, and Comfortable. My first time at the Cadillac Palace and will not be my last time. The Tour was a blend of some of the most talented performers ever. Do not miss this. My sister in California envied me...and when we looked up the tour destinations,,there were none within 5 hours from her....Mostly East coast. We were lucky to have them stop in Chicago. Worth Every penny. Stage settings...spot on...Visually perfect for conveying the message of Battleground and trudging thru sewers...All in all An A PLUS......Will go one more time before they leave. And that will still Not be enough...Standout performance by Max Quinlan who played Marius..who was second only to Michael Ball.

Not the best "Les Miserables" I've seen

by BaboM on 11/18/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

This is the eleventh time I've seen "Les Miserables" in the many years that national tours have passed through Chicago. It's my favorite musical play. For me, it lost something when it was downsized and lost the dramatic effects of the turntable and the huge barricades. The current "mini-barricade" suffers by comparison and its inability to offer the audience views of both sides (due to the missing turntable) causes the scene to lose much of its former impact. Of the main characters, the singing was mixed. Andrew Varela (Javert), Jason Forbach (Enjolras), and Briana Carlson-Goodman (Eponine) all possessed fine voices and sang their parts in thrilling fashion. Betsy Morgan was quite good as Fantine. Max Quinlan as Marius was adequate, but Lauren Wiley as Cosette had a soprano that reminded me of Minnie Mouse. All in all, however, Les Miz is always worth seeing, for its chilling, thrilling moments and for its soaring music.

    Best Les Mis ever!

by SchnucksCat on 11/18/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I've seen Les Miserables 7 times now...once at the Muny in St. Louis, 5 times at the Fox in St. Louis (the previous national tour), and this is my first time seeing the new version of the tour. It was absolutely amazing. I won't tell you what the changes are since part of the joy was discovering them myself, but as a diehard Les Mis fan, I was not disappointed. My boyfriend accompanied me. It was his first time, and he had no trouble following the story without reading the synopsis first, so I recommend not learning anything about it ahead of time if you've never seen it before. He loved it as well...it's quickly become his favorite, and he's bought the CD and plans to read the unabridged book. Just a testament to how much people love the show! The casting was the best I've experienced, and I particularly would like to compliment the actress playing Fantine. She had a stunning voice, yet she didn't let that stop her from seriously acting the part, going from dignified to crazy. She was much younger than I'm used to, which I think is more loyal to the book and more realistic, and also more heartbreaking.

Amazing set, great singing, really good acting

by Greatfromasceptic on 11/18/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I thought this would be a depressing play with a somewhat good ending. Instead, it was a really good story - not depressing at all. Not a fan of straight musicals, but this was different - I wasn't bored, the singing wasn't overbearing. It was really good.

    by Kitty51 on 11/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

My husband and I saw Le Mis for the 4th time and felt the actors were the best we've seen--and heard. I know it's only here for a short time, but if you're able to get tickets, you'll be glad you did.

by pinchapenny on 11/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

This was amazing! All the singers' voices were pretty good, but the 3 exceptional ones were Javert, Fantine and Eponine - incredible, especially Eponine's!

    Les Miserables

by RichV on 11/17/12Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The musical is one of my wife's favorites. I had no prior experience with it. The show tells a good story and the singing is easy to understand.
