Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, LES MISÉRABLES makes a triumphant return to Chicago. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).
Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, LES MISÉRABLES tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption - a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of LES MISÉRABLES includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.
Excellent production! All of the singers were amazingly talented! The staging was really well done!
First time seeing Les Mis. It’s been a while since going to a show. I loved every minute.. from the wonderful staging, great acoustics of the Cadillac Palace (such a stunning venue), beautiful orchestra, and terrific cast. Loved all the big numbers, especially Bring Him Home and On My Own. The cast really nailed all chorus scenes… very tight performances. It can bring you to tears of joy. Such a great experience for my family. It was a perfect night out!
Outstanding! My daughter and I have seen Les Miz many times and we both agree that this was the best by far. Amazing talent.
Went with our Family of 5 to see Les Miserables in Chicago before Christmas. The show was amazing, and the cast was so talented. I’ve seen this show multiple times, and I’m always amazed at the caliber that each actor brings to their performance of such iconic characters and challenging vocals! Definitely recommend it!
Les Mis is a wonderful production. The voices are clear and strong and the staging better than I have seen in the precious two times I have enjoyed this musical. Thank heaven for the libretto displayed in a perfect location for viewing the state and reading it at the same time. Anyone who has seen this musical knows there are moments of purposeful overlapping dialog and they are virtually impossible to hear clearly. Loved the production.
There are reasons why Les Mis continues to be the world's most popular musical - the passion, the characters, the haunting music, the interwoven storylines - like Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol,"it has universal appeal. And the latest production delivers on the promise in spades! All of the production values were flawless - the set design, sound, lighting, orchestra, and especially the voices came together for an immersive experience you won't forget! Having played the foreman and Thenardier myself in local equity performances, I can speak from personal experience of how much impact the show carries for performers as well as audiences. Bravo to the producers, tech, and actors for keeping the legend alive in people's hearts and minds!
I have seen Les Miserables more than once in the theater. This performance was incredible. The effects and music were top tier. The most amazing thing, though, were the actors. The singing and acting had me mesmerized from the very beginning and I cried multiple times. HIGHLY recommend seeing this if you get a chance, you won't regret it. Grateful I was able to see this rendition-I jumped up to give a standing ovation at the end!
The actors are so good at singing and the stage equipment. Background. Performance.. There was nothing missing.
The play is outstanding. This was my 5th or 6th time seeing Les Miserables. The cast is excellent and they performed the musical numbers as well as any of the other performances I've seen. But the stage at the Cadillac Palace theatre is small in comparison to other venues in the Chicago area. The scenery seemed crammed. A bigger stage would have made the play a much better performance.
The show was excellent. The venue however was not. The staff was somewhat friendly and courteous until the show ended! Then while waiting for the elevator on the third floor (and being passed up numerous times), (the elevator can only carry 5 people plus the elevator operator); we hear someone say over a speaker that if you’re not waiting in the line for the bathroom you have to get off this floor! They started shooing people to the stairs to go down. Then we finally got in the elevator, got to the first floor and his mom wanted to look at souvenir booth, they shagged us out to the vestibule, said it was closed until the next show! We did not have that happen at other theaters that had another show later. We were able to stay inside out of the cold vestibule until our ride came. Not this place, nope go stand and freeze in the unheated vestibule when it’s below zero with the wind! Won’t go back ever!
Excellent cast, sound was amazing! Enjoyed the show!!
Definitely not worth the $200 seat price. It was better in New York. I remember leaving there thinking WOW. This time I was like oh. Ok. Forgot it was constant singing. My bad.
I’m never disappointed with this show. Well done!
Fantastic. My granddaughters loved the show. Sometimes the story line was hard to follow
Great experience using the website and really convenient to have the tickets available through the Ticketmaster app.
There's a reason this show has remained so popular. The plot and music are powerful and meaningful. The specific performance we saw was a very worthy delivery of the musical. I didn't realize until after the show was over that our Javier was actually the understudy. He was probably the best I've seen play that role. About the venue itself, the facility is very beautiful and an excellent space for sound. We have seen Les Mis twice at the Cadillac, seated once in the very back and once in the front row. Acoustically, you will get a wonderful experience regardless of your location (although nothing beats seeing everything in the front). Before the show begins, it may seem as though the place has more than enough bathroom stalls to serve its guests. During intermission, you will have a completely different impression......at least with regard to the women's restrooms. Having said that, the staff are very good at keeping everyone moving and the facilities themselves are nice and clean. If you’re someone that finds yourself really needing to use the restroom before the intermission of most shows (and Les Mis has a decently long first act), take note--in advance--of the lower level bathroom location and make sure you're one of the first out of the auditorium once that break hits. Again, the show is incredible. It never gets old for me, or my family. We will be back!
Les Wonderful! Watching Misery has never been so beautiful!
Les Miserable was excellent as always. The cast’s performance, voices, and presentation of the story was absolutely beautiful and believable. They kept us interested the entire time, and it was so hard to not sign along with the entire show. And the orchestra did an amazing job playing the music and keeping the performance going. They were just as amazing as the cast. The Cadillac Palace Theatre was a beautiful venue, as always.
The show was simply incredible! From start to finish I was engrossed in the performances. Every member of the cast had the voice of a lead performer! It was a wonderful theatre experience and I was blown away by the talent of the cast. Definitely a must see show!
Top notch vocal performance by all. Thenardier provided a visual tour de force. Always a pleasure to be in the Cadillac Theater
