About

Cameron Mackintosh presents the acclaimed production of Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, LES MISÉRABLES. Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, LES MISÉRABLES tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless statement to the survival of the human spirit. Featuring one of the greatest scores of all time, with thrilling and beloved songs including "I Dreamed A Dream," "On My Own," "Stars," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More," "Do You Hear the People Sing" and many more, this epic and uplifting story has become one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history. Along with the Oscar-winning movie version, it has now been seen by more than 120 million people in 52 countries and in 22 languages around the globe. LES MISÉRABLES is undisputedly "one of the greatest musicals ever created" (Chicago Tribune) breaking box office records everywhere in its 35th year.

    Adequate Show

by Tony on 3/3/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The show itself was adequate, being neither good nor bad. The theatre experience was fine, once you wrap your head around the fact that once you enter the theatre, you are met with metal detectors and men who are holding wands to check you for firearms... it is a sad shame that THIS is who we are today in our society. In all honesty, it is uncomfortable and a bit frightening.

    Fabulous!

by Jan on 3/3/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I see Les Miserable any chance I get. I have seen it over 20 times, in many cities. This production was wonderful and ranks right up there with the best.

by Gaby on 3/3/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I love Les Mis, and it's always fun to see it live! The sets were beautiful, and the singing was excellent, especially by Fantine, Enjolras, and Javert. My friend and I loved it!

    Best Show Ever

by Calliopi on 3/2/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I hadn't seen this show in 30 years and it just blew me away. The only issue was there are not enough ladies washrooms. The lines during intermission were insane and not enough to actually go.

    A classic revived!

by Jen on 3/1/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I’ve seen this show several times over the course of ten years and this version outshined then all. The cast was emotive, supremely talented and entrancing to watch. The set was incredible—agile and like a character itself, brought the story to life. So glad I came one more time to see Les Mis… it did NOT disappoint!

    Les Mis Day

by Nana on 2/28/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We got there early to go downstairs to the get-together ahead of the show but we were disappointed with the fact that literally they didn't have enough plates and no one could find any more. I feel like they didn't make enough effort downstairs the only thing great about it was that we didn't have to wait in a long line for the restroom.

    Superb as always!

by Shaw on 2/28/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We’ve been to the show at least seven or eight times since 1996. This touring company was just as exceptional as the last. Cadillac Palace is also a wonderful setting to host big time Broadway musicals like this one.

    Not as great as usual

by Lisjak on 2/28/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I have seen Les Mis several times over the years. This is my second time at Cadillac Palace. The first time we sat in Balcony L a few years ago and it was fantastic. This time we were in DCIR-L and it was just ok. It was almost as though it wasn’t loud enough. Typically this show brings me to tears with every song. I could barely even stay focused because we were not close enough to see well, could not hear well and had to move our bodies to be able to see around the people in front of us. These seats were more expensive than the seats we had there before and it was definitely not worth it. It was a disappointing evening.

    Les Miserables Beyond My Expectations

by Michelle on 2/28/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I have waited 23 years to see this musical and it did not disappoint in any way. I was supposed to see it in London in July of 2000 but got food poisoning the day of the performance and could not attend with my family. Every time it toured in the Chicago area some thing or other would always come up, but not this time. It was one of the best days of the year for me.

    Well worth the money

by Big Daddy on 2/28/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The only bad thing was the wait outside to get in! Chicago is called the Windy City for a reason! Everything else was GREAT!

The musical was excellent! The seating not so much:(

    by D. B. on 2/28/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We sat in the first balcony. I had to crane my neck the entire performance, partially because the woman in front of me was leaving forward the whole time to see around the person in front of her, and partially because the aisles are not properly pitched for viewing. Additionally, the ushers were seating people after the performance started and used the flashlight on their cell phones which was very distracting. The musical was terrific, but the tickets were too expensive to not be able to see properly.

Disappointing Entry Process - Arrive Early

by PH on 2/28/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

On the evening of the performance I attended, the arrival process was slowed to a crawl because the entry staff failed to advise people not to attempt to gain entry until after their e-ticket was displayed on the screen of their phone. Patron after patron fumbled through their phone only once they arrived at the front of the line. As a result, perhaps 100+ patrons were not seated when the show began (at its scheduled time) and had to listen to the first 15 minutes of the performance from the lobby area. Better communication by staff would have fixed this before it became a problem.

Great show poor Cadillac theater employees

by Rob on 2/27/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The show was fantastic, but was a little disappointed with the Cadillac Theatres desire to clear the building out moments after the show was over. Cold windy and nasty night and they would not let people even stand in the foyer area much less the lobby area waiting for their rides. They demanded everyone get out immediately. I will not come back to the Cadillac theater. My five stars was for the fantastic show, but not for the Cadillac theater.
