  • Powerfully moving and inspiring.

This classic performance makes you cry and laugh at the same time. Javier's voice was commanding and immense. Eponine was wonderful, Fontine enchanting, and Cosette remarkable. Madame Thenardier was unexpectably lovable. Technically, it was all Broadway: great skill and imagination used well in a very small space. And the Cadillac Theatre staff was very hospitablemto top it off. Bravo!

I would just like to take a moment to thank all involved in the production of Les Miserables! The cast and crew poured their hearts and souls into this production! The result is a beautiful event that I will remember the rest of my days! Thank you to all involved for giving birth to this historical love story of individuals and the whole of humanity.

Difficult to follow even after reviewing the Playbill synopsis. Don't drink anything prior to entering the Cadillac Theater unless you don't mind spending the entire intermission and a few minutes beyond waiting in a long line to use any of the ridiculously inadequate male and female restrooms.

  • Disappointing

Having seen Les Miz in London as well as 9 touring productions, it's definitely our family's favorite. So, it was with much excitement we came to see it again. Unfortunately, this production did not live up to our expectations. The tempo has been increased on numerous songs so that the actors have to spit out the words rather than sing them. I know this show by heart and numerous times I had no idea what was being said. Rather than show ranges of emotions with the music, many actors chose anger and shouted out their songs. By intermission, I had a headache from all the shouting. On the positive side, the new set is interesting without the turntable and the lighting effects for the sewer and Javert's final scene were amazing.

  • Les Mis was powerfully good!

Les Miserables was everything i expected it to be and more! The acting was amazing and the songs were absolutely fantastic. It is such a great musical with so much drama, but the humorous scenes are so great too. I loved every second of it!

  • Les Miserables c'est Magnifique! Even the 3X!!

by Yaphound on 11/26/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This was our third time seeing Les Miz. We all agreed it was our favorite, and the first two were on Broadway and in Washington D.C. Hard to say specifically why, but it was unanimous. Our seats were fairly high up but still had a very good view and the sound was excellent. The entire company was excellent and the choreography was very original. Definitely recommend this version as well as shows at the Cadillac Theater in Chicago.

We took our high school senior for his 18th birthday. He was enthralled from beginning to end. The cast, crew and orchestra were outstanding and it was worth the investment.

  • Astounding Show!

    by Breeze916 on 11/26/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This show had it all!. The singing was so far above even what you expect from proffesional theater that I couldn't believe it. Even the smallest of roles had such depth to the vocals. This was my first time seeing Les Mis. It won't be the last. Just spectacular!!

  • Beautiful night for Les Miserables!

by klasee on 11/26/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing! Unfortunately, the seats were not. My boyfriend and I were dressed very nicely for the show which made us the minority in a sea of poorly-dressed people. I just didn't understand why someone would pay $60+ to see a broadway show and then show up in jeans, tennis shoes, and a sweatshirt. The show was amazing though! All actors and actresses were amazing and sounded beautiful...minus the kids! The little blonde girl who played Cosette had the whiniest voice - so annoying...I had to keep from laughing when she first started singing. Other than the seat issues, we had a wonderful time! Definitely a must see show!

  • Great show- not the best cast.

    by KES721 on 11/26/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I love Les Mis and always will! Javert to me is such a key roll, and this actor was distracting. Very overweight and almost comical looking. He was not threatening or scary, which I think he should be. Jean Valjean and Marius were both very strong in this cast and I enjoyed them. Overall, a good show just not the best cast I've seen over the years. Oh- and Enjolras should be one of the strongest characters. The casting here was very soft spoken and mild - more of a Marius character. That brought down some of the best songs for me.

  • Les Mis is great, but could be better

    by 11495 on 11/26/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I have seen the stage production a few times now and keep seeing it because of the way both the story and the music rejuvenate my heart, soul and mind. In this production the male singers are stronger than the female. I felt some of the songs were rushed. Fantine's song has a beautiful intro that needs to be sung slowly and these lines in this production were almost spoken and felt so rushed one could hardly take them in. I felt the same with Javert's final song also. I missed the wicked delight in the Thernadier's song Master of the House too. It's a fun moment in the story, just keep it that way.
