  • What an amazing show!

by Anonymous on 12/2/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The new production mixes the beauty of the original show with stunning new arrangements and backdrops that integrate Victor Hugo's art. I was floored! See this show if you can!

  • Les Miz was disappointing this time.

The production I saw in L.A. was so much better. This production seemed rushed and many songs were difficult to understand given the lack of articulation. The actors seemed very uninsprired. I feel it was a waste of my money this time.

  • Spectacular a must see!

Beautiful music and the new production is fantastic! As good as the one I saw in London a few years ago.

This was my first time seeing this being performed live and it didn't disappoint. I especially liked the sets and how elaborate they were. I would definitely recommend this performance, you won't regret it.

Best production I've seen. The voices were exceptional. Not a dry eye in the house.

  • Les Miserables should not be missed

by JonKat on 11/30/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I first experienced this with my daughter in New York 20 years ago but my husband wanted to see it for our anniversary. The music is powerful and you easily drawn into the characters and their lives as the story unfolds and the decades go by.

Les Miserables is my absolute favorite musical, and I loved the opportunity to see it again after almost 20 years. The actors were awesome, especially Fantine, Eponine, and The Priest (I wish he was in more scenes). I had a lot of difficulty understanding Javert...he spoke very fast in several scenes, and it was really tough to make sense of what he was saying. He has an amazing voice, very easy to understand during his solos...but too much of what was spoken was not understood.

  • Les Miserables - Exceptional!

    by LesMiz16 on 11/30/12Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

My sister accompanied me to this production of Les Miserables. After the last curtain call, I turned to her and said, "now you know why I've seen this play 16 times!". When it's done right, you'll never experience something so inspiring, filled with raw emotion. It was like I had seen it for the first time! The vocal talent of every character was perfect. I don't believe I've seen Jean Valjean portrayed better than Peter Lockyer's. The translation of the lyrics was dramatized as never heard before. Too often, some of the lines are muffled or lost due to an inferior sound system. How many of us have run out afterwards to buy the CD in order to hear the lyrics that were missed or misunderstood? Not the case this time! This was truly a memorable performance, accomplished by every member of the cast and crew. I've seen some excellent Les Miz's in my time, but I can't say any were better than this. Kudos to the director, production crew, the set design...so effective!, and of course, the cast. They took an amazing piece of work that's been around for 25+ years and made it fresh and new! My one regret is that it isn't here long enough so more can enjoy this spectacular event...I would certainly be seeing it again...for the 17th time!

  • Les Miserables Never Disappoints!

The show engages you from the moment it begins through the final bow. You will laugh, and you will most certainly cry. The singing is always top notch, as are the technical aspects of the show. I will continue to see this show as it tours through Chiago again, and again, and again.

A very good performance, although given the nature of this musical, (very few if any spoken words) you must rely on being able to understand the words sung to understand the story. I felt that it was a little difficult to understand the words to some of the songs, but overall I was very satisfied with this production.
