Talent throughout from start to finish. I hope all can see this wonderful play with those who were part of this one in Chicago (wherever they have an opportunity).

    Fantastic

I have seen Les Mis several times - in Chicago and NY. This performance for sure had the best voices out of all the other shows I have seen.

    My Favorite Play

by CindyT on 3/6/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I have seen this play before, probably 30 years ago, and I wondered if I would still like it! I loved it. There’s drama, war, romance, comedy-something for everyone. Although it’s a very long plat, everything about this play, especially the superb singing, makes time swiftly fly by! It is still my favorite play!!

Beautiful show, poor audience and ushering

by Sad at Les Mis on 3/6/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The show was great, but two people were allowed to enter late, they did not know their seats and disrupted two entire sections for a whole song. When the usher did arrive, it took several minutes and they crossed through a row of seats instead of going around. They should have been forbidden from entering. Our tickets were expensive and we felt like 20 minutes of the first act had been ruined. Also, allowing snacks and drinks is disruptive and classless; because of the perfect acoustics of the theater, you can hear water bottles and candy wrappers crinkle throughout the performance.

    Excellent production.

by Ron on 3/6/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Overall, this was a great production in all aspects. When I stopped trying to compare it to previous productions of the musical I appreciated the newest version even more.

    Powerful Experience

by Pat on 3/5/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

EVERYTHING about this performance was excellent…the story, acting, voice performances, music, theatre itself. The set designs were very creative and well done. The solo performance, Being Him Home, had me in tears it was so beautiful.

Fabulous talent in a show that could have used some editing

by Frankie on 3/4/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

First of all, it would be hard to find better talent than the singers/actors/designers/musicians who put on Les Mis here in Chicago. Fabulous voices and performances, a tight pit orchestra that sounded bigger than the instrumentation, and lighting that was ingenious. My problem was not with how terrific the singers were, but with Les Mis itself -- it was written so that one "power ballad" follows another, until it just starts feeling manipulative. Master of the House and Bring Him Home were welcome departures from a gazillion "big-finish" songs that lost their power because there wasn't enough variation in tone and emotion between them. The way the show is constructed means it gets a little relentless. And all of the action is musically based, like an opera, but most musicals do work better with some dialogue to move action along as well. Still, if you love Les Mis, this is the show the see while it's on tour across the country. You won't hear the songs sung better or be more thrilled by the use of staging, costume and especially lighting.

    It was an amazing experience!

by Joshua Longest on 3/4/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The actors were really talented and great at what they do. I was at the edge of my chair throughout the show. My only complain was from an audience member. They were on their phone consistently and had it on high level brightness. I wish security was more attentive on these situations to make the whole experience pleasant for those who are actually there to enjoy the moment.

    Favorite Theatrical Musical

by Patrick on 3/4/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Another production of probably the world's most popular musical. Having seen Les Mis 6 times, this current presentation is a fine follow-up to the previous 5 but not the best. Even with some minor vocal weakness in the cast, all seemed to give 100 per cent once the curtain goes up. Any review would not be complete without special recognition for the show-stopping performance of Matt Crowle (Thenardier) aka Master of The House. (Footnote: Cad Palace Theater main floor was chilly.)

Not the best I have seen

by Nancydancer on 3/4/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

This was my 6th time seeing Les Mis and my least favorite performance. John Valjean was awesome and the children, especially Garush, were excellent. Jobert was very good, but the others seemed a little flat. It just didn't wow me and the singing didn't give me goosebumps like it usually does. Maybe I have seen it too many times??

    Les Mis doesn't disappoint

by VFT on 3/4/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

We have seen Les Miserables many times in many theatres, including New York, and loved it. This touring rendition certainly didn't disappoint. The cast is wonderful, the voices very strong, and the stage effects are amazing. This is a must not miss show!

    Hear the People Sing!

by ReggieN on 3/4/23Cadillac Palace - Chicago

My third time seeing Les Miserables. By a long shot the best Jean Valjean I've seen. His "Bring Him Home" brought a long and deserved standing ovation. Definitely see this run in Chicago, entire cast is fantastic.

100% phenomenal! Easily the most vocally talented cast I've ever been lucky enough to see perform within the Broadway circuit. Bravo to all!!
