Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed production of Boublil and Schönberg's Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon, LES MISÉRABLES makes a triumphant return to Chicago. This brilliant staging has taken the world by storm and has been hailed as "a reborn dream of a production" (Daily Telegraph).
Set against the backdrop of 19th century France, LES MISÉRABLES tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption - a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of LES MISÉRABLES includes the songs "I Dreamed a Dream," "On My Own," "Bring Him Home," "One Day More" and many more.

Les Mis was absolutely amazing, wonderful and exciting. Brought me to tears as this one always does. Loved it
This is one of the best musicals of all time. Even if you have seen it before, this outstanding production is something you don’t want to miss!
Good interpretation. Strong performances by cast and orchestra. Understudy for lead role was below standard.
Despite its popularity, I find the production to be boring. The songs are difficult to understand and follow. The scenes, acting and costumes were great though.
I have never seen the movie, nor the play, so had no idea what to expect from this gift from my family. All I can say is that is was among the best of the musicals I have seen. The cast, especially Jean Val Jean, were all very talented, strong voices, and great acting. This show was just great!
Les Miserables is by far my favorite musical. This production is wonderful and I will never miss a chance to catch it when it's in town.
The production of Les Miserables has always been a favorite of mine. That being said, the production at The Cadillac Palace didn't disappoint. Vocals were amazing, acting and visuals outstanding! What did disappoint? The horrible seats in the theatre. They were too small, and when I sat down I felt like I was sitting on the floor. Apparently, the theatre is about 90 years old. Is that how old the seats are? To those in charge, get with the program ( no pun intended) and upgrade your seats! Patrons are paying good money and should expect a great experience! Decent, upgraded seats would be just the ticket (pun intended)!!!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this rendition of the classic Les Miserables. The theater was beautiful and the seats were quite good. It felt intimate and you could clearly hear the performers. Pros - Javert and Eponine stole the show in this version for me, with a very strong Valjean and Marius. Cons - The orchestra was missing a few pieces so not as full of a sound you grow to expect. Also unfortunately the Fantine in the show was very weak. No emotion in her songs, flat, and just didn't draw you in. I would absolutely go and see it again, you will enjoy yourself.
Powerful vocals and acting set the right tone for this wonderful period piece. Special mention goes to Matt Shingledecker; his Enjolras was divine.
We absolutely loved the show! Although we saw multiple empty seats and shouldve asked to move. If I had sat comfortable in my seat (5'4") I would not have been able to see 2/3 of the stage. For the first half I was leaning to the right and left to see what was going on. Next time I will buy seats LC or RC of stage. Center stage was hard to see with people dirextly seated in front of us.
We attended as a birthday present for my daughter. Excellent theatre and cast, great set and sound production. We also purchased parking in a nearby garage and that was great, too. Our evening was everything we had hoped for!
We celebrated our anniversary by going to see Les Miserable and we were not disappointed! In fact, it was even better than anticipated! The sets and costumes were outstanding. The lights and special effects were excellent. The orchestra and singers were some of the best I have ever heard! Nick Cantrell brought me to tears as he sang, “Bring Him Home.” The entire cast was superb! We absolutely loved it!
I loved the feature of being able to preview what my view would be from the seats I was looking at before I purchased them! It was an awesome experience and the show was fantastic!
I had read the book a long time ago in high school and had heard about the musical. Buying tickets through ticketmaster was simple and fast. There were many options and I was able to sort out the tickets/seating according to my price range. The musical was excellent and the acting was extraordinary.
Most of the characters were easy to understand when they sang, but there were a few that were extremely difficult to understand. If you have never seen the play before, it made it difficult to get in the flow of some of the plot. We were on the main floor back in row S. Not being able to understand made it not as enjoyable as other plays that we have attended.
This is the second time I've seen this group over the course of their tour, and for very good reasons. The entire cast, especially the leads, are simply superb both in terms of their emotional delivery and the powerful depth of their voices. Nick Cartell (Valjean) can easily match the voice and animation of any predecessor who has assumed the role, and I've seen a bunch of them over many years. His "Bring Him Home" simply captivated the audience of this matinee performance and could do no less than send shivers down your back. Matching him in both voice and style, Josh Davis (Javert) leaves his audience both with a sense of distain and compassion throughout, and between these two antagonists, they draw you into the story to the extent one can only feel drained at the conclusion of the musical. This is a fabulous production, worthy of the kudos earned by years of offerings of this musical, and is no wonder it continues to draw sold out audiences, or there abouts, everywhere it appears. I encourage everyone to avail themselves the opportunity to see this company perform. You will not be disappointed.
Amazing staging, emotional acting and beautiful voices make this the best Les Miz I have seen. So creative with the sets and people popping up all over the stage. Interactive video and actors made for stunning images. As always the closing brings goose bumps as the harmonies raise a heavenly sound. Yes it is a sad story, but more so a story about the redemptive power of love against all odds. Don’t miss this show.
Great. Enjoyed the entire experience, with family.
The play was fabulous. Our seats were very good. Was worried because picked on line.
