About

Latin History for Morons on Tour

A sold-out run at The Public Theater. A record-breaking engagement at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Endless critical and audience acclaim direct from Broadway. Chalk it all up to the mad genius of Tony and Emmy Award® winner John Leguizamo, standing at the head of the class in his one man show, LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS.

When his son gets a school assignment on heroes, John seizes the chance to teach him all about the great figures of the Latino world. But once he sets out on his irreverent crash course across three continents and 3000 years of history—from conquistadores to cumbia, Montezuma to Menudo, and taking on the characters in all of it—he uncovers provocative truths that shock even him.

Every School needs to use his History lesson

by Juanita on 11/6/19Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I truly enjoyed the Whole experience, it was funny, moving, and enlightening. It has changed me, and I wish every Latino and non latino could see this show. I first saw John 30 years ago and I loved his show back then and he has just grown as an artist exponentially. It has caused for me a Paradigm shift and l am standing a lot taller. Every educator needs to use some of his resources and hopefully incorporate this in our educational system. Keep shifting the world with your Art!!!

    A must see!

    by Tina.taina on 11/5/19Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Latin History for Morons is awesome and John performs with amazing energy and heart. I have wanted to see him perform live for years, and he did not disappoint. The show was fantastic and I am glad I got to share the experience with my son. The books he mentions during the performance are on my reading list now. If you can't make it to the live show, the Netflix special is an absolute must see.

    Love love love John Leguizamo

by Too political on 11/5/19Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I love John Leguizamo and have been a huge fan for a long time. The content was funny however the overload of political opinions was a bit disconcerting. We hear it every day, all day long. 24/7. When we go the theatre, we are escaping for a few hours of the mundane and boorish climate our politicians have created. I wish I had laughed more than I groaned.

    Not what I expected

    by J. P. on 11/5/19Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I love John and have watched all his comedy specials on HBO, so when he was coming to Chicago I jumped on tickets. I guess I should have done more research, because this wasn't a comedy routine, this was a lecture on Latin History. Don't get me wrong, I support him and believe in his cause 100%. I think it very important that he use his talent and celebrity to reach his community and wake them up so that they get out and vote. However, had I known that this is what it was going to be, I would have skipped the live show and the 100's of dollars it costs to go into the city to see a live show and supported his efforts from my living room. I will say he was fantastic and I hope the audience heard his message.

    by LUNDA011 on 11/5/19Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Amazing show! John is just brilliant... wish the seats were a little more descriptive as far as what kind of obstructed view. But overall one of the best shows I have been to. Very entertaining and well connected.
