Latin History for Morons on Tour

A sold-out run at The Public Theater. A record-breaking engagement at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Endless critical and audience acclaim direct from Broadway. Chalk it all up to the mad genius of Tony and Emmy Award® winner John Leguizamo, standing at the head of the class in his one man show, LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS.

When his son gets a school assignment on heroes, John seizes the chance to teach him all about the great figures of the Latino world. But once he sets out on his irreverent crash course across three continents and 3000 years of history—from conquistadores to cumbia, Montezuma to Menudo, and taking on the characters in all of it—he uncovers provocative truths that shock even him.

by Leah on 12/5/19Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

This show was an amazing two solid hours of laughs, reflections, poignant moments, dancing, diverse characters and a really thought provoking look at the way Latinos exist in this country and why! I would recommend it and would love to see it again. The writing and performance are brilliant and there is never a dull moment - kudos to this actor for creating such a masterpiece!

Wish there was a little more history

by J. on 11/19/19Fox Theatre Detroit - Detroit

Latin History for Morons is a good, entertaining show. The story bounces around a lot and can be hard to follow. There should be a little more history, a little more of a plot, but what is there is good. The real draw to the show is to see John Leguizamo live on stage. He is a fantastic actor and to captivate an audience for two hours is really something. He also signed books and took pictures after the show. Really neat to meet him.

The Fox is a beautiful place and the super friendly and very helpful. Best part of the night was the autograph signing right after the show. Mr. John Leguizamo was so nice and very friendly and he called my daughter beautiful.

    Kings Theatre

by Cuchie on 11/12/19Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

John Leguizamo is an excellent performer and we did get a good latin history lesson. The Kings Theatre is absolutely stunning! I look forward to attending other events at this venue. Only one complaint -- the prices at the concession stand are insane (e.g., $18 for a 4 oz serving of wine).

by Geanine the Queen on 11/12/19Kings Theatre - Brooklyn

My daughter and I enjoyed his show immensely. Who would’ve thought you could get an education and be entertained at the same time. He’s very funny and a great tenant and he’s from Queens where I was born & currently live.

John Leguizamo is a true comedian, touching on topics seemingly taboo to main society. He has an uncanny ability to tell a story while making you laugh! Great show!

    Ok

by Aaargh on 11/9/19Cadillac Palace - Chicago

It's always hard to take men of color complaining about prejudice while being sexist - their inability to see that it's the same thing is baffling. Felt more like an angry tirade than the history lesson I was hoping for. All the same, an impressive performance - sustaining the energy to hold the stage alone for an entire show.

    Fun venue, great show

by Cookie on 11/7/19Moore Theatre - Seattle

John is a great performer. This topic is both educational, fun and necessary. The show was a good length for the tix price. A general disclosure, if you’re going to get front row tix plan on participating with the act. If you’re unwilling or shy, pick a different seat. These people help move the show from good to great and when you’re not participatory everyone feels it.

    Latin History for Morons

    by G. M. on 11/6/19Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I really enjoyed John Leguizamo's performance last Sunday. I relished his use of lexicon to emphasize his point of view fortifying the theories of our native Americanism ashe presented it...totally made sense. I admire his elevated comedic performance which demonstrated, in all its glory, his skill in managing all the facets of his trade. As he explained at the beginning he would "Demoronized" us....and that is exactly what he did while we, the audience, laughed through the whole process. Loved it....Thanks Master John Leguizamo....you are a Comedic Genius.
