Latin History for Morons on Tour
A sold-out run at The Public Theater. A record-breaking engagement at Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Endless critical and audience acclaim direct from Broadway. Chalk it all up to the mad genius of Tony and Emmy Award® winner John Leguizamo, standing at the head of the class in his one man show, LATIN HISTORY FOR MORONS.
When his son gets a school assignment on heroes, John seizes the chance to teach him all about the great figures of the Latino world. But once he sets out on his irreverent crash course across three continents and 3000 years of history—from conquistadores to cumbia, Montezuma to Menudo, and taking on the characters in all of it—he uncovers provocative truths that shock even him.

I loved the show! 1st time at the apollo theater! Only thing I didnt like was the fact that the security guards took my water bottle at the entrance. But over all i enjoyed the show!
The show was so informative. Not only was John comical he was able to create a lesson that was so intriguing. I was so attentive to his message that I was in awe of the information he was sharing with the audience. I enjoyed laughing at his quick witted jokes about his family and learning about my ancestors.
Great show. Funny, heart warming and very informative.
Really funny but also a learning experience. He keeps you laughing and thinking all the time, really recommend to see the show.
Did not get short changed on Johns performance! He left it all on the stage.. A masterpiece of comedic Education! Look forward to his next New York visit..
A funny show and an excellent highlight on the vast areas of history that are underrepresented or non-existent in most school text books. Check the Playbill for the syllabus! My only qualm with the show was John's misrepresentation of the book "Guns, Germs, and Steel". While his feeling towards it is his right, his statement towards its intent is inaccurate. Regardless, a funny show that I think he should expand upon further!
I was dazzled by how many topics and with what depth Leguizamo dealt with in this show. I learned a lot and laughed a lot. I wish he could perform a (shorter, probably) version of this for all the high schools in America.
Great to see how he took the negative experience of his son which is basically the same experience most minorities deal with, that being No Mention of our history & the glossing over of the thievery of our culture & wealth. So Good, Its Too Short.....
Absolutely sobering and fantastic performance. The perfect match to ignite curiosity about and shed light on our “American” history.
While I think Leguizamo is very talented, I was taken aback by some of the anti -white racist content. If a white comedian used equally offensive material, it would be all over the news.
Although the line was very long, entrance to the Apollo was extremely quick and smooth. Our seats were horrible though. We had box seats but really could not see half of the stage without completely leaning over the side. The show was great and I learned so much about my Latin history that I did not know much about. It inspired me to learn so much more! John is intelligent, hilarious and talented. Definitely recommend any of his shows.
Leguizamo is a genius. His performance was enlightening, informative, and hilarious all at the same time.
John was fantastic, My stress disappear with this show
John Leguizamo is amazing! The show is hysterical! I was left inspired after the show. And he reminded me to always be proud of being a Latina.
