What a time to be alive!

I won’t lie, I wasn’t too hip to the album prior to me seeing Lalah’s name on ticket master and I just happened to be where she was that night. Nonetheless, bought a ticket without hesitation. Spent the day getting aquatinted with Vantablack and I loved it. As Lalah said, it’s probably one of her best bodies of work. The venue was intimate but we weren’t shoulder to shoulder. Whether you were on the top or the floor, you didn’t have to tippytoe over head’s. You had a direct line of vision to all on stage. AND the a/c was good and blowing. The show started on time. Got to lay eyes on THE Jubu Smith! Him and his band, Legally Blynd opened. Dope to say the least. Lalah came out after around 45 mins or so of them performing. Opened with BLACK. and ran down Vantablack with nothing but smooth transitions. She took us back to the 90s, even did Angel amongst other throwbacks (no spoilers). She looked phenomenal, sounded phenomenal. Butter couldn’t touch her. When you thought the show was over and folks got to leaving, Jubu brought her back out and she did 2 more songs off of Vantablack. Real personable, interacted with the crowd. Made sure we were straight. She’s quirky and I like that. If I saw her 10,000 more times, even that wouldn’t be enough.
Moral of the story:
10/10 would recommend.
