This was my first time seeing Lalah in person and I loved it, I wished the show was a little longer but I really enjoyed myself. If she ever comes back I will definitely be seeing her again.

Amazing. Jubu was the opening performer and he did not disappoint. An amazing guitarist, the melody and lyrics just flows perfectly from his guitar. Lalah is always amazing and a must see everytime she comes to Atlanta

  • Lalah is THE BEST!!!

by Naya on 9/30/24Outset - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I love Lalah and will see her everytime she sets foot in Chicago to perform. I love it more if she was at a venue that had seats instead of standing for 3 hours. She is worth all 3 hours of standing.

  • Surprisingly Disappointed

by CoCo on 9/30/24Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

Firstly, I am an avid LH Fan! I see her often at various venues here in the DMV. Her show was honestly, MEH! Her set list was primarily of her new project! There was very little fusion of other bodies of work! Lastly, her mic was very low (which seemed by design) considering her opening act performed with full on sound! Looked forward to this show at the Warner as I assumed I’d be engulfed with sound in such a smaller theater venue!

  • Amazing…

JuBu… the opening act was Awesome. And as expected, Layla was beautiful and sounded amazing!!! Can’t wait to see her again.

  • FANTASTIC

by OSCHYE on 9/28/24Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I ENJOYED THE SHOW BECAUSE IT STARTED OUT WITH LOVE MUSIC FROM THE OPENING ACT BY A BEAUTIFUL SISITER PLAYING THE GUITAR. THE FOLLOWING ACT WAS A GREAT GUITAR PLAYER BY BUJU SMITH WHO PLAYED WITH FRANKIE BEVERLY. HE WAS AWESOME. WHEN LALAH CAME OUT SHE BLEND EVERYTHING TOGETHER WITH HER HITS AND NEW MUSIC. THE SHOW WAS MEMORABLE AND I WOULD GO TO ANOTHER IN NEW YORK.

  • What a time to be alive!

    by Kalmali B. on 9/27/24Outset - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

First of all, she is her father’s daughter. I won’t lie, I wasn’t too hip to the album prior to me seeing Lalah’s name on ticket master and I just happened to be where she was that night. Nonetheless, bought a ticket without hesitation. Spent the day getting aquatinted with Vantablack and I loved it. As Lalah said, it’s probably one of her best bodies of work. The venue was intimate but we weren’t shoulder to shoulder. Whether you were on the top or the floor, you didn’t have to tippytoe over head’s. You had a direct line of vision to all on stage. AND the a/c was good and blowing. The show started on time. Got to lay eyes on THE Jubu Smith! Him and his band, Legally Blynd opened. Dope to say the least. Lalah came out after around 45 mins or so of them performing. Opened with BLACK. and ran down Vantablack with nothing but smooth transitions. She took us back to the 90s, even did Angel amongst other throwbacks (no spoilers). She looked phenomenal, sounded phenomenal. Butter couldn’t touch her. When you thought the show was over and folks got to leaving, Jubu brought her back out and she did 2 more songs off of Vantablack. Real personable, interacted with the crowd. Made sure we were straight. She’s quirky and I like that. If I saw her 10,000 more times, even that wouldn’t be enough. Moral of the story: 10/10 would recommend.

  • The Vanta Black Tour

by Steph in San Diego on 9/26/24Rating: 5 out of 5

Seeing Lalah Hathaway was on my bucket list. She performed at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. OMGGGGGG we got a double treat. Her DJ was FIRE and Jubu Smith, the former lead guitarist for Frankie Beverly and Maze opened up for her and played for her set. It was AMAZING. She didn't keep the crowd waiting, she was captivating and phenomenal. The ticket prices for excellent seats were reasonable. It was an AWESOME show. She is one of the few performers, I'd definitely pay to go see again.
