About
Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.
The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

Phenomenal show. Wonderful showmanship, incredible music, and just an all around rocking environment for all in attendance. Everyone should find an opportunity to see Lake Street Dive in person; they were amazing.
Lake Street Dive was super
by Anonymous on 6/15/14The National - RichmondRating: 4 out of 5We enjoyed the show at the National. The crowd was quite diverse and the show was a show case of old school and new. I recommend seeing these guys.

Lake Street Dive has an amazing sound and great stage presence. All members of the band are extremely talented and it clearly showed. The lead singer has an amazing voice that stuns and awes. Overall, the show was a great time with great music.
Painfully (and illegally) loud
by Soundhound37 on 6/15/14The National - RichmondRating: 1 out of 5Coldplay played at earsplitting volumes....so I figured I'd take a quick dBA reading with my Audio Tools app. Up to a max of 106 dBA. In the balcony. At that level OSHA would limit worker exposure to 30 minutes. By law. And there were workers present in the theatre, and tending bars (it was just as loud at the bar; I checked a couple of times). Then Lake St Dive came on. We figured they'd be a little more ear-friendly, but we were wrong. Way wrong. They were even louder. I measured dBA at a max of 110. More importantly, the dBA level stayed above 100 dBA for at least 30 minutes straight, twice. I finally went outside to wait for my group. my husband and one of our friends arrived. We left shortly thereafter, and agreed to never attend another concert at the National.
Well worth the 31/2 hr drive!
by ChefMichael57 on 5/26/14THE 8by10 CLUB - BaltimoreRating: 5 out of 5First off- the 8by10 club in Baltimore is a good venue to see up and coming talent. The 250 capacity club is super intimate and seeing LAKE STREET DIVE in this setting was well worth the 31/2 hr drive from Jersey. I saw a lot of great shows in 2013 but this was one of my favorites. Although RACHEL PRICE fronts the band with incredible vocals- BRIDGET KEARNEY (bass), MIKE OLSEN (trumpet and guitar), and MIKE CALABRESE( drums) all play critical roles in the success of the band. The band has already come a long way since this show with stellar write ups in ROLLING STONE and a great TV debut on COLBERT. Anyway- they put on a great 25 song show with high energy and exceptional musicianship! I will be bragging about seeing LSD in a small club for years to come.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Lake Street Dive!!
by HAM77 on 4/9/14Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5This event had EVERYTHING!! Top notch, beautiful venue, AMAZING music by LSD and the opening band (AgesandAges) was great too! If you can see Lake Street Dive, I HIGHLY suggest it...PHENOMENAL!!!!!!

One of the best concerts I have ever been to. They were simply amazing!
Lake Street Dive nailed it!
by MaxBelgian on 4/9/14Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5LSD offered me one of the best concert of my life! It was amazing, powerful, funny, transporting... By the way the band Ages and Ages was doing the introduction. Didn't know them before but I bought all their CDs and I will definitely follow them, it was super cool! Only thing, be aware that the Royal doesn't accept credit card under 10$. "Unfortunately" I had to take two drinks in a row... Second thing, don't do the same mistake than I, don't bring your camera without a camera pass.
Lake Street Dive & Ages and Ages are Great!
by Thitch on 4/9/14State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Ages and Ages was the opener. I often snooze through openers. But these kids really have something. Their vocal tapestries backed by driving rock and roll are full of joy and truly wonderful. Well worth seeing. As for Lake Street Dive, they put on the best show I've seen in at least a decade, if not longer. Brilliant, riveting, fun, virtuoso--the superlatives just keep coming. If you get a chance, go see and hear them. Absolutely amazing!!!!!
Great show, with a few little hiccups
by Anonymous on 4/9/14Royale Boston - BostonRating: 4 out of 5Lake Street Dive is amazing. I saw them a few years ago and simply couldn't get them out of my head! This concert was interesting because Lake Street Dive has such a diverse following... young, old, disinterested (frustrating because there were always people talking while the concert was happening, but what can you do about that), etc. But this made the show great because no one was pushing us around or screaming or anything. The one qualm I had was that the band had us waiting for more than 30 minutes to go on stage. The opener started right on time, and was incredible (check them out! Ages and Ages!), and everyone in the audience lost their excitement when we had to wait until after 10pm for Lake Street Dive to get on stage. Normally this isn't an issue, but when you have elderly folk in your audience and it's a Sunday night, you'd think you'd do a little better with this. I also have to mention how frustrating it was that on one of their most popular songs, Rachel changed ALL of the notes and beats, so no one could sing along! I get that they must get really sick of singing the same songs over and over, but they should throw the audience a little bone and at least keep some of the chords or rhythms the same. The Royale is a beautiful venue as well! You can see the stage from anywhere, which I really like.
Lake Street Dive was fantastic.
by robinsry22 on 4/9/14Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5Just an excellent show. Such a talented group of musicians and superb songwriting. I highly recommend folks check them out. Great live performance. Lots of energy. Fun show.

This band is sick sick sick !! Serious singing, musicianship, Oh and the tunes are really really good !!!! Some of the best drumming around too. 1st time at the Royale for me, real good venue.
Lake Street Dive was awesome
by Chris2468 on 4/9/14Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5I went into the show knowing almost nothing about the band or their music. But I left with a profound admiration and respect for this group. Lots of energy and talent to match. Vocals were tremendous. Music was fun. This group has a great mixture of confidence and humility. I plan on seeing them again, and I recommend them to music fans of all ages. PS - I'm in my late 40's and I assumed I'd be the oldest person there, but the place was packed with both young and old, which shows the mass appeal of this very likeable band.
Loved Lake Street Dive
by Avidfan02130 on 4/8/14State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Most amazing show! Had heard a good deal of their recorded music, but nothing prepared me to have my doors blown off by the band's live performance. Great selection displaying their range. Rachel Price has great stage presence and killer pipes. Tight harmonies and arrangements. They were having as much fun as the audience which made for terrific energy throughout the evening,
Lake Street Dive was Incredible!!!
by MelCinBa on 4/8/14State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Best show I have seen in a long time. A must see ( hear) for everyone of all ages! I can't wait for them to come back to Portland. I will definitely buy tickets again.

The venue, the crowd and Lake Street Dive were so amazing. Great energy and everyone was having a great time!!!
Lake Street Dive an absolutely talented group.
by Anonymous on 4/8/14State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5We thoroughly enjoyed our evening with Lake Street Dive. They are an extremely energetic, talented and very entertaining group! Very strong vocals and great connection with the crowd.
Lake Street Dive killed it!
by StashTea on 4/8/14State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Best show I've seen at The State. Even the sound was mixed well, which usually isn't the case. Band was tight and fed off the energy of a sold out audience. It was exciting to see a band hit their stride like that. They are all excellent musicians and spread the solos around generously. Rachael Price is a tremendous vocalist, moving from jazz to rock to doo-wop to soul effortlessly, but never over doing it.
Lake Street Dive? Lake Street Soars!
by Zeebart on 4/8/14State Theatre - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5Where does that voice come from? Did the Devil demand her soul, the soul of the other three, plus their children and their children's children in exchange. If he asked for mine in exchange for the ability to see a live performance every week, I would do it. I am 65 and the concert started at 9:00 and Lake Street Dive started around 10. Normally, I would be long asleep by then. I could have listened all night to that once in a lifetime voice.
