About

Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.

The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

We learned about LSD from Hale Milgrim who showed a video of them performing at the Grammy museum. Can’t believe they’ve been around for 20 yrs. The Sandler Center was a perfect venue for them. Their duette with the lead off act must have had Elvis turning green with envy from his grave.

Great show, awesome night and a great venue to boot

  • Lake Street Dive concert

    by Robin on 10/28/23F.M. Kirby Center - Wilkes-BarreRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive was first introduced to me on WXPN, PBS, radio station out of Philadelphia. I immediately was attracted to their musical stylings and wanted to hear more. I surrounded myself with their CDs, including a LP. Seeing them live was on my bucket list. I achieved that by attending the show at the FM Kirby center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. It’s one of the best shows I have ever attended, and I have been to a lot of concerts over the course of my life. They mixed up their stage settings with an intimate grouping on a stage rise to start the show and then came together out front for their electric set. The band was tight, exuding an incredible energy throughout their performance. The eclectic mix of tunes keeps them in the forefront of musical magic. On a scale of 1-10, Lake Street Dive is a 15!!!!

  • Wow

In a world full of auto tune and filters, Lake Street Dive was a refreshing reminder that there are still genuinely talented musicians out there. Not only is this group incredibly skilled at their craft, but the sense of fun and enjoyment they get out of performing is palpable. I can’t wait to see them perform live again!

  • Horrible sound and lights !

by Siles on 2/9/23The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 2 out of 5

Excellent band with great arrangements ruined by blinding lights aimed directly into the audience and even worse a sound level that was punishing, Seated upper balcony center.

  • Simply Amazing!

Charming, excellent sound, nice rapport with one another and the audience. Quality was even better than the recordings. It was outstanding.

  • Great Show in all regards

Just excellent sound and energy. Super tight and fun. Flew up to NYC from FL with our daughter for her 10Y birthday trip. Stayed over an extra night in Jersey just to see them and it was so worth it. Beautiful night with and wonderful group. Catch them if you can.

  • Lake Street Dive

by wh on 2/8/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 4 out of 5

This was an awesome show. The band displayed a couple different looks through out the show and everyone was able to highlight in some way. My wife introduced this band to me and I am so glad she did. I have to be honest and tell you I was not very impressed with the warm up act. The woman playing guitar was great, I was not impressed at all with Monica (?) I was sure if she was going to sing or do her standup routine. Btw, had seats up in the 4th tier and could not understand a word when there was talking on the stage, like intros, etc. The vocals werent quite as bad, but not as clear as I would have expected.

  • Wow ! What a show.

No band doe’s what LSD can do. Rachel. Price’s vocals are incomparable. She has a magnificent range and such powerful and clear vocals. Don’t miss them if you ever have the opportunity!

  • Great Show!! Amazing Performers!

by liverpool8 on 2/8/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive is one of my favorite bands. And their performances never disappoint. This performance at NJPAC was one of the best I’ve attended. The music. Rachael’s voice!! The way they are so in sync with one another. Run don’t walk to a Lake Street Dive show.

  • Great Performance, Horrible Seating Situation

by DD on 2/8/23New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 3 out of 5

Got seats for 1st Row, figured we should have amazing view. Instead NJPAC put up a wall in front of Row A to create a Standing Room Only Area in front of stage which is great but the Wall was way to close to the 1st Row creating not nearly enough leg room and the people standing against the wall totally blocked view of stage so the best seats became the worst seats.....

Lake Street Dive was great, very tight and entertaining. The opener was also very good. First time a NJPAC,really nice, comfortable and intimate venue. Ticket were reasonable, if only the exhorbitant Ticket master surchage was as reasonable

  • Always good

Great combination of LSD classics and covers. Loved that they did "Can't Help Falling in Love With You."

  • Better every time!

by beebs on 2/7/23The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Lake Street Dive at least 7 times and each time is more incredible than the last! Every show gets better and better and is never the same. Rachel's voice is absolutely flawless and at 7 monts pregnant is sexier than ever. I Love to see them having fun and you can see that they really enjoy each other and performing. The Capitol theater in Port Chester is one of my favorite venues as it is so intimate and the acoustics are fabulous. Monica Martin who opened was absolutely fantastic! What a voice and she was so raw and open and funny! I can't wait to follow her and can't wait to see LSD again!

I have seen Lake Street Dive at least 7 times and each time is better than the last! I think Rachel sounds the best I’ve heard and her voice is just flawless! Even 7 months pregnant she is so sexy and beautiful and I just love seeing them have so much fun on stage. They really enjoy each other and performing! Monique Martin who opened was just amazing! I never miss a chance to see LSD!

  • The absolute bomb

by NoBea93 on 2/7/23The Capitol Theatre - Port ChesterRating: 5 out of 5

I have been an LSD fan since the early teens, but have never (???) seen them indoors. The dynamics of a beautiful hall add a richness to their sound that is almost impossible to describe. Like: "Oh, that's how Bridget's bass sound!" They are one of the hardest working bands around and they did everything to please us. The sound was spot on, and the band showed no ill effects from their prior night's malaise. Real troopers. Real music. Lots to love.
