About

Lake Street Dive have pushed the possibilities of pop music as a unifying force, not only through their eclectic sound--a boldly original cross-pollination of soul, folk, jazz, classic pop, and more--the five-piece's all-embracing ethos has also made them a beloved live band known for building a potent connection among every crowd. In the making of their GRAMMY-nominated album Good Together, vocalist Rachael Price, bassist/background vocalist Bridget Kearney, drummer/background vocalist Mike Calabrese, keyboardist/vocalist Akie Bermiss, and guitarist/background vocalist James Cornelison reinforced the deep sense of purpose behind their output, often turning their attention to the many factors driving us apart today (e.g., unchecked technological growth, culturally imposed isolation, the cult of relentless self-optimization). Born from a mindset they refer to as "joyful rebellion," Good Together arrives as a body of work both gloriously defiant and primed to inspire unbridled dancing and ecstatic singing-along.

The follow-up to 2021's Obviously, Good Together finds Lake Street Dive working again with Grammy-winning producer Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr.). With its sonic landscape encompassing everything from R&B to funk to Brazilian pop, the album opens on its title track: a left-of-center love song celebrating the thrill of defying expectation and following your heart's desire. Next, on "Dance with a Stranger," Lake Street Dive once again prove their undeniable gift for crafting feel-good songs with an illuminating message, simultaneously inducing a carefree euphoria and gently fostering empathy. The wildly cathartic "Walking Uphill" presents gripping meditation on the work of self-repair, while "Seats at the Bar" puts a sweetly playful twist on the classic love song. And on "Twenty-Five," Price shares a stark and lovely ballad steeped in tender reminiscence of a long-ago romance. All throughout Good Together, Lake Street Dive tap into the palpable camaraderie that's fueled the band since their formation, ultimately delivering their most collaborative, expansive, and powerfully exuberant work to date.

  • not good

by breadhead on 7/13/24TempleLive Cleveland Masonic - ClevelandRating: 3 out of 5

I love lake street dive and have seen them many times. This venue (TempleLive Cleveland Masonic) was terrible. We were in the upper balcony, so that may have been the problem. The music was distorted, loud and we were getting all sound from everywhere bouncing off the walls. This will not stop me from seeing LSD but I will never go the Templelive again.

The band is incredible and continues to improve with each tour. TempleLive is also a great venue.

Lake Street Dive knocked my socks right off! They were amazing! Best concert I have been to!

  • Great Band in a perfect venue

by McLuvin on 7/12/24TempleLive Cleveland Masonic - ClevelandRating: 4 out of 5

LSD put on a great show! Their voices and harmonies were dead on. The only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of that soulful trumpet player. But I understand live concerts. Don’t always mimic the recorded music. I would definitely see LSD the next time they come to Cleveland. the Masonic Temple was a perfect size venue for this band.

  • Great show, interesting venue

    by Hosted5 on 7/12/24TempleLive Cleveland Masonic - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

First time seeing LSD. played every song from their newest album. Got better toward the end when they played a few staples from the McDuck era. Acoustic set was missing “What I’m Doing Here” and they inexplicably revived “Side Pony” ( they made a solemn oath not to play that as a band again for a reason). Hopefully they make the switch before I see them again at MSG. Also had never been to Templelive in Cleveland before. Interesting setup with the seats all on one level going straight back. Didn’t look like the last few rows were filled but perhaps those people opted for the GA floor after the concert began. Bars needed more drink options and more inventory (they were out of cold water).

  • no words to express the spirit

No words. Just must see them in person. Its watching consciousness express.

  • LSD is super talented, creative, a great musical experience

by Cuzin to star on 11/13/23The Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Every member of the group contributed to the sound in unique and exciting ways. The instruments, harmony, element of surprise all built around Rachel's amazing voice and stage presence. I am looking forward to seeing them again!

  • Not the same

by Aged on 11/11/23The Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 3 out of 5

I know bands evolve and get less hungry- the great ones don’t. I’ve seen them 6 times over the last 10 years. I was happy to hear Doctor which hasn’t been played in a while but there are too many songs when members are taking off- not what I’m used to. I know everyone must be fed but not at the expense of the whole.

  • Incredible

by Kellbell on 11/11/23The Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Lake Street Dive impressed me beyond words. Several times I had chills. The music, singing, overall sound, and lights were just perfect. Go see them!

  • Great music, no leg room

by Great music, no leg room on 11/11/23The Louisville Palace - LouisvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Venue is beautiful. Music was wonderful. Unfortunately, the sears were not. We were back row of balcony 2. View of the stage was great. Leg room was not. The way the venue is besieged the seats in the middle of the back row get pushed forward closer to the row in front, creating a very uncomfortable seating experience. Every row in front of us had significantly more leg room. Had I any indication of the smaller seats, I would have selected another row, but none was given.

  • WOW, best show ever!

    by Greg W on 11/10/23Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I loved every minute of this performance. Lake Street Dive are such great performers and even sounded better in person. I also enjoyed the opener (Monica Martin)!

  • FanTASTic CONCERT!!!

by Duggie on 11/10/23Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This is such a gifted group of musicians! Not only their rendention of several popular songs by other artists (Rich Girl, Linger, etc) but their original music and visual presence on the stage is something to behold! They fill ALL your senses! I can't wait to see/hear them again! Please please please come back to Knoxville, TN!

  • Great Show !

The band was super tight, and sounded fantastic the whole time !

  • Very Personal to the public

by Richardh on 11/9/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

We were on the end of our seats as they spread out on the stage, and then huddle cack together on the mini stage. Loved every minute of it.

  • Great band, venue, audience..

by Hbham on 11/9/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

A week ago I was whining about Birmingham Alabama music fans after experiencing too much loud talking from the audience during the My Morning Jacket Show at the same venue. At this show, the audience was silent (except for a few cheers and hoots, all appropriate) and in rapt attention and awe at the amazing performance. Great to be part of the audience experiencing the delightful and and talented artistic performance.

  • Awesome Show!!! 10/10

by JGray on 11/8/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

  • Lake Street Dive…Spectacular!!

by JGH on 11/8/23Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second time seeing LSD and this was by far the best yet! Of course, seeing them at the Alabama Theater with acoustics to support the talent made a huge difference. They are all talented musicians and together they are magical. Also, I loved seeing Monica Martin……a beautiful voice and her chit chat between songs was endearing! Look forward to hearing more from her!

  • Fantastic tight band

Fantastic performance but could have sang longer. Love the stage changes.
