  • WOW! Ladysmith Black Mombazo and Voena!

    by Martinique1 on 1/30/17Opera House Ballroom - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

LBM were wonderful, spreading their message of joy, love and beautiful music. Second time seeing them, and they had even more energy than last time. The Voena Choir was the opening act, a children's choir full of beautiful music and a unique, energetic performing style. They sang some African songs too. I'm guessing they tour together, so why don't they perform together? Oh well.

  • Ladysmith Black Mambazo continues to be amazing!

by cambie on 7/19/16Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 4 out of 5

Ladysmith Black Mambazo was wonderful. A joyous celebration of music and life.Great music performed with enthusiasm and perfect harmonies. They easily convey their joy of making music and story telling to the audience. Well done after so many years.

  • Ladysmith Black Mambazo Sweet Honey In The Rock

    by bsj0000 on 7/19/16Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 3 out of 5

Ladysmith Black Mambazo was fantastic the voice command and the dancing was simply amazing ::)))) IWe really enjoyrd them. There are 2 issues-1-They need to vary the songs they all sounded alike. The performance was to short around 45 minutes. Sweet Honey In The Rock-they were TERRIBLE and we left after 2 songs

  • LBM great, SHITR a huge disappointment

    by emc60 on 7/19/16Cain Park - Cleveland HeightsRating: 3 out of 5

This was my third time seeing LBM and they continue to be awesome! The next generation has the same enthusiasm, warmth and compassion as their father. They seem to be having fun. But, SHITR seemed to phone it in, and the 'it' was not at all what I was expected. Gone are the African clothing, the spiritual acapela harmonizing. Instead it was jazz standards like "Operator" with a bass guitar?? Very disappointing.

  • Beautiful!!!

by PeachyLady on 7/13/16Chene Park - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue, very clean, awesome lineup!! The music was fabulous by Ladysmith & Sean Blackman. I wasn't terribly fond on Sweet Honey but my mom enjoyed them immensely!

The performers were great. The sound system was lousy. Muddy sound.

  • Gripping vocal melody...

by Finji on 2/22/16Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

A memorable treat to get to watch Ladysmith Black Mambazo 25 years after I first watched them in concert. It is an impressive group that innovates and rejuvenates with an entertaining mix of vocal melody and athletic moves. The group displayed a good sense of humour and team connectivity.

  • So lucky to be able to see them!

    by leesha2325 on 2/22/16Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

There is no doubt why this group has been together so long - they're amazing!! go see them. you won't regret it

  • Her anniversary surprise

by GeoRR on 2/22/16Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I took my wife to the concert as a part of her surprise trip to New York, celebrating our 35 years of marriage. She was not familiar with these artists and my fun was in watching her face go from reserve to joy as the concert went on. See this group at any opportunity.

My Wife and I have seen them before. We heard they were performing and we made sure we got our tickets.

  • by SankofaDesigns on 2/22/16Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Wonderful opening acts, beautiful soulful music. I have loved this group since I was a teenager - what they stand for and what they represent is timeless. Highly recommend this show!

  • DOWN MEMORY LANE

by Japie on 2/22/16Town Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Having been born and raised in South Africa, and in the same age group as the original LBM I have followed their music for the past 50 years and seen them wherever and whenever possible. Version 2.1 did great credit to the originators and maintained that sound, verve, charm and enthusiasm that just cannot be imitated by anyone who does not have South African roots. It is a language, an accent, a twinkle and a polite cheekiness that is unique in this world and, keeps "The Country in this Man" - even though I left around 35 years ago.

  • Good show

by Gergianial on 1/24/16Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 3 out of 5

It was good. Could of been a lot more of dancing. The singers could of incorporate more varieties in music styles.

  • great group but over amped

by frogs4ever on 1/24/16Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 2 out of 5

Previously heard them without much amplification and they were great. In VPAC they were all heavily miked and the harmonizing was horrible, very uneven. The best sounds were when they were away from the mikes, but this only occurred in short sequences.

  • Rich voices, dancing feet fabulous!

by Sniklefritz on 1/24/16Valley Performing Arts Center - NorthridgeRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was a joyful continuation of Ladysmith's excellent love offerings to the world of music. We all miss Joseph, but his sons are carrying on the tradition with tremendous panache, grace, and good humor. This is a "not to miss" event whenever they come. From the first chord, their voices fill the venue with depth and carry us to South Africa. A joy.

  • Ladysmith Black Mambazo Inspirational

by Wowism on 3/2/15Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

You might think you have heard this group from their albums, and their work with Paul Simon. But until you see them in person, you have not experienced their inspirational magic.

  • by AvisG on 2/18/15Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Very good concert. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The Carolina Theater is the best place for a concert--acoustics are great.

  • Awesome Performance

    by DynamicDiva1 on 2/16/15Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

Already looking forward to the next performance. I absolutely love these guys! This was my third time seeing them in person. I missed seeing Mr. Joseph Shabalala but his sons did not disappointment.
