Kevin James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom.
The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. James also starred in, and executive produced The Crew, a sitcom set in the world of NASCAR and is currently developing a single camera comedy (both for Netflix).
James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy. His second comedy special Never Don't Give Up premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim.
James was the producer, co-writer, and star of the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2, Zookeeper, and Here Comes The Boom. James made his feature film debut in Columbia Pictures' Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, and starred alongside Adam Sandler in Pixels, Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and Hubie Halloween. He starred in the feature True Memoirs of an International Assassin for Netflix, the independent action thriller Becky, and starred in and produced Home Team for Netflix.
His act was clean, funny and worth seeing again. Great job!
he was great, really funny. I was sorta like wow its the dude on tv but great comic. He has a different persona on stage than tv but still funny.
I will definitely go see him again. He is just as funny as you hope.
I had never seen him before live. Don't miss him if you get a chance. It was non-stop laughter.
Kevin James is really funny and he does it all while keeping it clean. Kept my attention and I found myself laughing out loud often, which I don't do easily. Highly recommended if you ever get the chance to catch him next time around.
The show was awesome!! He is hilarious! Buying the tickets was very easy and simple! The people at the palace theatre were very helpful
Kevin James didn't disappoint in his live stand up show. If you are a fan of his sitcom King of Queens and all his movies, then you must see him doing live stand-up. He touched on a bunch of topics that almost everyone can relate to. I will definitely see him again if he comes to town.
Riotously funny performance by Kevin Jams in Nashville's Ryman auditorium. Very, very funny and clean as well. He passed the true test of a comedian with me with his ability to be VERY funny on his feet and handling one particular audience member. A fantastic performance!!!
I wanted to take my wife to a show that was both funny and clean. With Kevin James there is always that chance it may not be completely clean but this show was great. The opening act was very funny and when Kevin hit the stage and started his act I don't think we stopped laughing much till he left the stage. He had my wife laughing so hard that she was crying on multiple occasions. Even though we are not big on bad language, Kevin for the most part kept it clean and what he did say that was bad wasn't a focus point of his act which made it for us a very enjoyable night. I say 5 of 5 stars and say go see him if you have the chance! Well worth every penny spent!
Both the opener and Kevin James were fantastic! Kevin handled a crazy heckler with grace and humor. My only complaint was that the show started almost 20 minutes late.
If Kevin James ever comes to town again I would definately recommend saving the date! If you think he is funny on screen know that there is not a dull moment throughout his entire stand-up and I really enjoyed that he interacted with the audience!
Recommend this to anyone who likes Kevin James' observational humor
We had such a great time! Kevin was cute and funny as always. We laughed nonstop for 2 hours.
We waited sooo long for Kevin James to come to Ohio and thank goodness he did. Loved every minute of his show.
Great show.started a little slow but was amazing. Hadn't heard of the opener but he turned out to be great as well
We had a great night--his opening act was funny as well... Just felt like he should have performed a bit longer
Just as funny as he is in his movies! This was the best comedy show I have ever been to. Even his opening act was on point. I was also surprised as to how "clean" his act was.
Good clean comedy show! This was my third time seeing him and I look forward to another show down the road!!!
30 minutes of opening act and then 60 minutes of Kevin James. For some this might be enough, but for me it was a little bit disappointing. He was great overall, but I'm not sure, if I had spend the money if I had known about the duration in advance. Still, don't get me wrong, he was great!
Dude was on! We laughed our tails off. ...and he didn't have to drop F-bombs and such to make us giggle for the hour.
