About

Kevin James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom.

The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. James also starred in, and executive produced The Crew, a sitcom set in the world of NASCAR and is currently developing a single camera comedy (both for Netflix).

James brought his stand-up act to TV with Sweat the Small Stuff, a one-hour special for Comedy Central. Kevin James and Ray Romano executive produced and starred in the HBO Sports Special Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach; a documentary about the Pebble Beach Pro Am Golf Tournament that was nominated for a Sports Emmy. His second comedy special Never Don't Give Up premiered on Netflix to critical acclaim.

James was the producer, co-writer, and star of the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2, Zookeeper, and Here Comes The Boom. James made his feature film debut in Columbia Pictures' Hitch starring opposite Will Smith, and starred alongside Adam Sandler in Pixels, Grown Ups, Grown Ups 2, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, and Hubie Halloween. He starred in the feature True Memoirs of an International Assassin for Netflix, the independent action thriller Becky, and starred in and produced Home Team for Netflix.

    Kevin James was hilarious

by RADROB on 4/9/12Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Kevin has some great comedy. We have seen him before in Vegas. Always a great show put on by him with great and clean humor! He keeps you in the show the whole time. At Mohegan though with it being a decent sized venue, a screen would have made the show better since he is so charismatic. With the jumbo screen, the performance would have enhanced significantly. Regardless, he puts on the best show and we were not disappointed (and probably never will when he's on stage). His opener was also entertaining. Highly recommended if you ever get the chance to see him. If it wasn't for the lack of a screen, this would have been 5 stars without a doubt!

Kevin James was good, not great.

by Disneyphreek on 4/8/12Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

His warm up was funny but not over the top. Kevin James, well I adore him but I think comedy is better when its not such a large venue. Loses in personal attention. The wolfs den would have been a much better to engage him with. Would not see any comedian in the arena again.

Kevin James' comedy is very funny and clean. I would have been comfortable bringing my 15 yr old son to this show.

The entire show was only 95 minutes. Kevin was on stage for only 70 min with no intermission. I was hoping there would be a stand selling items. But no such luck. It was not worth the lower level price. Kevin is clean comedian and his material was well written. He uses body language into his routine and it works well. There was no photography or video recording allowed and they had staff monitoring it.

Richie Minervini - what a memorable opening act.....Very funny - had us on a constant laughter merry go round.......I was looking forward to seeing Kevin James and although I have watched his other routines on comedy central, I just felt this one fell a little short. Way too much airline "comedy". I looked around the arena and noticed he not only lost me for a while, I was in other company as well.

    Disappointed!!

by kandb2 on 4/7/12Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

I love Kevin James and was so excited to go see this performance. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed! There were only a few jokes that were even somewhat funny. The show was pretty short but I still found myself looking at my watch hoping it would be over soon! It definitely wasn't worth $250 for 4 seats! I do have to say the opening act Richie Minervini was hilarious! I laughed throughout his set. The show started at exactly 8pm so make sure you get there on time. You don't want to miss the opening act!!!

I thought Kevin James was funny and really started to warm the crowd up in a good way. However, his performance was about 45 minutes and we paid $60 per ticket to see this show. He ended at a point that the crowd was really starting to enjoy and said "Have a good night" , leaving everyone in question if that was a joke or the call for an encore. He did not come back out...very disappointing. You would think if you brought over 6000 people together in an arena and each paid $45-$60 per ticket that he would do a routine longer than 45 minutes.

I was so excited to see Kevin James. He was great on King of Queens and his movies. Sadly, his opening act was actually funnier.

    Just as entertaining in person

by 5dogs24paws on 4/7/12Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

My husband is a huge King of Queens fan. He watches a rerun daily, so I was hoping that he would love this show. From the second Kevin James walked on stage screaming.....true Doug Heffernan style, it was awesome. If you are a fan at all it is definitely worth seeing. The opening act was very good also.

    Kevin was hilarious!

by Drew151 on 4/6/12Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

Excellent show. Kevin's humor is unoffensive & clean. My wife & I had a great time & spent the trip back to Dayton laughing as we recited some of the jokes from the night. I have & will recommend this show to anyone who likes good humor. Kevin is proof that you don't have to be dirty or swear excessively to be funny.

Really enjoyed the show. The opening act as very funny also. Kevin James was excellent, as expected. I was pleasantly surprised that the show was family friendly, no foul language at all ! How refreshing, glad to know there are still some comedians out there that can be hilarious without nasty words ! Love it!

It was ok, could have been longer and the his topics ok but not all funny. It was almost as if he wrote his story and jokes on the plane ride over. Don't get me wrong he was funny but not like tv-movie funny. Show was to start at 8, started after that, perfomer before him was about an half hr and funny. Then Kevin came on and we were exiting the venue by 9:30pm. For $55.00 a seat....could have been longer.

Not a s good as expecting.

by BuckeyeGal on 4/6/12Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

Kevin was okay but not as good as I was expecting. My friends and husband said the same thing. I like him better as a characture than doing stand up. Still a fun night though.

Performer was on stage too short of time. Should be on longer, have another performer or cheaper tickets.

    Too short

by SLDL on 4/5/12Ryman Auditorium - Nashville

I was disappointed that it was not longer. I did not know there was opening act. Kevin was not on stage even an hour. The show was decent but should have been longer.
