  • bridgestone 2011 rookies

by beegees on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

whole event was very well organized. wish there was a way to keep cigars off the course however. volunteers very friendly and helpful. did lose an umbrella under the 16th grandstand that had to be retrieved by staff and was not turned in to lost and found. have been to Muirfield and this was very comparable with the course layout being much more fan friendly. bought 5-day tickets that had seat numbers on them...did not know where these seats were.

  • Firestone was on fire!

    by Monndog5814 on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

It was my first time at a professional golf tournament. I have been playing golf for almost 40 years and it was a real treat to see how great these guys can play. Almost every shot seems like they hit the ball perfect. It really blew my mind how these guys could get out of trouble from under the trees. I walked the course for about 8 hours. I got to follow many different players including Woods, Mickelson, McElroy, Watson, Toms, Fowler, Clarke and many more. Cannot wait to go back. The only thing that I wanted to do was go into the clubhouse but I got stopped by security. Apparently, I was going into the wrong door and that i should have gone on the side of the building.

    by Legoz1 on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

I have a ton of fun at the Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club in Akron, OH. It was my first golf tournament and to be there on Sunday was amazing. The course was beautiful and the tournament officials were very helpful, and I have no complaints

  • Firestone is a great course to watch a tournament

by Starspete on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

It was wonderful only negative was they ran out of pairings sheet before I got to ticket gate and it was only 12 noon and of course the price of food

  • Where's the food?

by bapnan on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

The event was wonderful, but the concession stand on 13 ran out of hambergers, hot dogs & cold water. Poor planning on someone's part.

  • Great seeing the pro's!

    by KimmyG73 on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoyed seeing a PGA event. I always do, but Bridgestone could use some work on catering to spectators a little more. We've been to three different tournaments. There's definitely room for improvement.

  • lots of fun but they need a drinking fountain!!

by jdgoldberg on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 4 out of 5

My son and I really enjoyed watching the pros but it was 90 degrees and instead of a drinking fountain they sell you 3.00$ waters and 4.00$ gatoraids.Having diabetes I was forced to pay all day to keep hydrated. The officials at the information booth said it was for "safety concerns"that they don't have a drinking fountain.(until somebody without the extra 20 bucks strokes out in the heat)the concessions were a blatant ripoff .We would have stayed longer if they would simply have a few drinking fountains. Its a shame they treat people like this!

  • Bummer

    by JollyRoger72 on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 1 out of 5

I chose Saturday because it was my only day off during the tournament. I worked late Friday night and did not find out about the 7 am tee times for Saturday until after Midnight while watching Golf Channel wrap-up. Got 5 hours sleep, took the long drive from Youngstown, got lost finding public parking due to poor signing, the shuttle bus driver extended our ride to the course by making a wrong turn (his first trip), and by the time we got to the course, got our bearings and dealt with the crowds, we only got to watch about 4 holes of play. We had intended to spend the day and see most of our favorite players, but most of them were finished by the time we got there. It was a poor decision by the PGA or whoever made the decision because of the "chance" of showers, to move tee times up. It was a big disservice to the fans who paid good money to view a lot of golf and who ended up shorthanded. I hope they don't ever make that mistake again.

  • unbelievably awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    by Golfer101 on 8/8/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5

The first tournament tiger played in 4 months. That just made it even better. Easy to get in the tournament with the tickets and also easy to print them out!

Thanks to the WGC for an amazing event. Your service to the military needs to be recognized as an example to all! From an old sailor "fair winds and following seas"...

It was very good. Not enough score signage though.

  • by Anonymous on 8/8/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 4 out of 5

DID NOT LIKE SPLIT TEE TIMES TOO HARD TO FOLLOW MY FAVORITE PLAYERS ALL AT ONCE. WENT LAST YEAR EVEYONE TEED OFF FROM NUMBER ONE. CONCESSION SERVICE WAS VERY BAD TOOK TOO LONG TO GET WAITED ON . IT WAS EXTREMELY HOT NOT YOUR FAULT. WOULD GO AGAIN NEXT YEAR. ALSO LIKED TO BE ABLE TO USE CELL PHONES IN CERTAIN AREAS.

  • Early tee time, no notification, waste of $70

    by Dee1725 on 8/8/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 1 out of 5

I was sent emails reminding me of my tickets and how to act and what to take, yet nothing notifying me that they were starting early due to weather, so we missed 90% of the event. Not sure why there isn't a better system in place for things like this.
