What an outstanding week of golf! No place better to be to see all the greatest golfers in the world and they didn't disappoint. Nothing compares to watching them in person and truly experiencing their talents up front and personal. Event should be on your list to attend year after year.
Firestone is a great venue and a beautiful club. Only complain about the event was that there were too many corporate tents ( unavailable to the general public) and not enough general concessions. They ran out of food at some concessions on Sunday.
This is always a great event. This was my first time and I will be going again next year.
The coolest thing i saw was on Thursday, watching Darren Clarke put his second shot on #8 in the hole from about 180-190. The giant gallery was following Tiger, so i hope they were paying attention.
I was positioned on the 15th green most of Sunday. Saw many great shots that I was in awe of. Got some autographs early in the morning. What a great day!
Great value to be able to see all (49 of 50) of the greatest golfers in the world. The event is always well organized, conducted on a beautiful course, and presents the sport at the highest level. Firestone is one of the most fan friendly locations including free parking, reasonable concession prices, and value on purchased items. The volunteers are very helpful to insure a great experience for all.
The tournament was excellent. Some golfers, such as Bubba Watson and Mark Wilson, signed autographs for adoring fans after the final round. Others signed as well. The organizers should have been clear to spectators regarding parking. About 1/2 hour was spent driving around trying to figure out where to park only to end back at Lockheed Martin. We were bussed to the event (which took another 40 minutes after waiting in line). We could have planned better if we knew this. However, parking was free, which was great, considering that Gatorade was $4 and water was $3. Also, we believe the organization could be a little better because they ran out of pretty much everything to drink, including Gatorade- which is disappointing after waiting in line for twenty minutes or more. I imagine that they are a sponser in some way and would not be happy about that, especially considering that it was $4 per bottle! They should have explained to spectators that the seat and ticket number were irrelevant. Volunteers did a great job. For some reason, I expected more (from the event planning, not from the actual golf).
We found ourselves rooting more for Steve Williams than for Adam Scott or any other professional. Amazing display of talent. We could not believe that Firestone would allow anyone to shoot a -17! Perhaps we need to tighten it someway to make it more challenging.
The tournament this weekend was very well organized as far as golf tournaments go. I would have appreciated some shady sitting areas and more concessions areas around the course. After sitting in the stands on such a hot day, I waited in line for almost 25 minutes just to buy 2 bottles of water. I really appreciated the shuttle buses to the public parking, the drivers up & back were very friendly. The one thing I wish could happen, is that we would be able to hear the tv commentary on the 18th hole. It seemed a little anti-climatic for the final hole on the final day.
Great players on the course and we saw a lot of wonderful golf. Concessions were poor -- ran out of water and Gatorade early in the day and since you weren't allowed to bring anything in with you, the only options were soda or beer. Not a good sell with a group of 18 year olds. Also, the information for the tournament stated that bags less than 6" by 6" by 6" were allowed but we were not permitted to bring in our bag through the public security entrance (bag was smaller in size than this). Oddly enough we saw many people who had larger bags that were security-tagged and permitted in the gate. And these were not diaper bags, rather bags like ours. If you change a rule regarding bags, communicate this beforehand (flashing sign at entrance of public parking still said bags less than 6" by 6" by 6" were allowed when we entered lot). So, couldn't bring in my sunscreen, tissues, and wet wipes because I had no pockets.
I enjoyed the tournament very much! The staff at all the concessions were very pleasant and helpful. The food was good and overall prices were what we expected. Cabernet on the menu was a pleasant surprise! The course had plenty of shade to escape the sun. The course was very green and plush. I was surprised that there were no flowers back on the holes on the hill: 4, 7, 11, 15, and others. But all the flowers by the clubhouse and practice tees we fabulous. My husband and I will certainly attend this wonderful event again. It was just a short trip from Erie, PA and the parking near the alternate entrance was easy to get in and out of.
The tournament lived up to its potential. The golf course was in great shape. They did a good job of moving people in and out. The play was excellent. The only criicism we have is they need more concession stands. The one at hole #8 was out of almost everything on Sunday and the leaders had not teed off. More merchandise tents would have been nice. Overall experience was good.
The 2011 Bridgestone invitational was the best ever for me. The pros are so up close and real. I got to see Sergio, Phil, Tiger, K.J. and many others. The course was perfect. I was able to attend on Sunday's final round....so exciting.
The Bridgestone was unbelievable. I got to see who I wanted to see up close. I was completely in awe of what went on that day!
Fantastic to get that close to pros, see how they manage course, amazing how they hit ball. So consistent. Awesome to see! Would recommend to anyone. First class event every year. Concessions not good though. Lines too long and they have you by the throat with pricing. They should consider setting up more stands around the course... just for drinks. Sort of like an express line at grocery store. Tubs of ice with water or gatorade, nothing else. Not waiting 30 minutes for a bottled water.
I have never been to a PGA event ever. To see the guys I see every weekend on tv was amazing. Awesome course and great golf
This was our 2nd year attending and thought it was good. Lack in preparation when it came to water on the course. The concessions ran out of bottled water and the "drinks only" concessions would not sell ice or soft drinks because they were for the mixed drinks only. BAD IDEA. The field of players were fun to watch and it was exciting to be able to be that close to some of the best golfers on the course. We will be back next year
Got to see all the top golfers in a very casual and fun atmosphere.The competition was fierce the ending was perfect the trafficrouting was impeccable.All the waking was a bit hard on my feet but I need to lose some weight so great!
