A friend and I have been attending this event since 2008. It is worth the 3 1/2 hour drive from Fort Wayne!

The course was absolutely beautiful, and it was amazing how close you were able to get to the golfers. I got a couple of autographs, which was pretty fantastic. I parked in general parking and that was definitely the way to go! A short bus ride and no dealing with crazy parking antics and fed up, overheated, driving golf fans. Within 10 minutes of being on the course, I had already declared that this would be an annual occurrence. Can't wait til next year!
Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club
by FatherOfSixAdults on 8/11/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 4 out of 5I took three adult sons (ages 22-29) to all four days of this tournament and we were well entertained. The cost was low - just $85 total for all four days - and we got to see almost all of the top 72 ranked players in the world play four rounds (there is no cut in this event) of golf on a famous course. Free parking, well organized handling of spectators, surprisingly low concession prices compared to arena and stadium events; who could ask for more?
First timer at a PGA event
by Grayrose on 8/10/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 4 out of 5We didn't know what to expect except we knew it would be HOT! Where to park and how much...there was fantastic signage and it was FREE, even our bus ride to the course. Disappointed that we couldn't take a soda or water (one of either) in as the day was very warm and we certainly would and did buy many more. People involved at the venue were extremely helpful, kind and friendly. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed our day.
Bridgestone Invitational was great!
by Julz7125 on 8/10/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 4 out of 5My husband and I had a great time getting close to our favorite golfers and the price of the tickets was reasonable for us. I just wish you could provide Club seats at a discount or even set up a Progressive tent for employees with free food and drinks. The food was very expensive and it was very hot that day. I think more Progressive employees would go to this event if there were better accommodations. It would be good advertising for Progressive as well. All in all, for the price it was a great event and we still had a great time! We will definitely go again next year!
17th Hole
by RabbiNo1 on 8/10/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5Great day seeing some of golf's best players. Seeing Tiger make a birdie on 17 was special. Tthink there was only 3 birdies on 17 hole on Sun. Only complaint was that some consessions ran out of water.
Best non-major event of the year
by kwood13 on 8/10/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5Beautiful course. Unbeatable field. Easy to navigate the course and get great views of the action.

Bridgestone was predictable
by Wiseguy55 on 8/10/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 3 out of 5Course was in pretty nice shape. While the crowds were large, it was still pretty accessible for following the golfers, so I got to see a lot of the up and comers as well as some of the old favorites. Was glad to see the weather hold off. No problems with ticket process. Wished they would have a little better variety of snacks available instead of just hot dogs.
tiger shot on ten
by bucbirdie on 8/10/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 4 out of 5tiger needs a caddy that will help him become the leader that he should be giving up stevie was not a great move on tiger part over all the invitational was great.
just awesome golf and course
by Queenas on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5It was an unbelievable week. Great golf, great weather, great accommodations and great hospitality. You must purchase the tickets that include preferred parking and the championship tent. Preferred parking gives you the option to wait for a ride or walk, so depending on the crowds, it works to your benefit. As for the championship tent, it is an area where you can choose to watch more golf at the beautiful 16th hole, or sit back and enjoy a drink and lunch without all the waiting and crowds. The bathrooms were an added treasure at the tent - not a regular port-a-john. One thing you need to remember - bring enough money for water etc - you need it and you can't bring it in!!!! Credit cards accepted.
spectacular shots
by boobooze on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 4 out of 5The play was very outstanding by the pros and there were a lot of spectacular shots that were made. It was nice to see the pros handle the pressure and how they responded to the crowd. There were some pros that were not friendly and other who would at least acknowledge the people that came to see them play. I would recommend this to anyone. The course was beautiful and the volunteers were very friendly.
Great tournament!
by IndianaJim on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5Great event. Wednesday crowds were small and the kids can get a lot of autographs. Three great days at the course ... we will be back!
Worky05
by Worky05 on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 4 out of 5It was a great event. With only 2 guys playing on a hole the rounds were not that long. Got to see some amazing play. Saw Fowler make a eagle 2 on 3 from the fairway and Lefty do the same thing from the 1st cut on 11. Would like to see the practice round. Will be back.
An annual event!
by juncker on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5Very well organized.Everyone of the tournament staff was very polite and respectful of the fans. It was a lot of fun watching the pro show there stuff,as well as showing they were human as well. Most were fan friendly, some not so much. Being a veteran, I was treated to the military outpost.Very awesome!! It is nice being appreciated for my service time. My son and I are big Phil M.We followed him thru his whole round.Although he did not do as well as we would have liked,we still enjoyed it a lot.Phil is very fan friendly which makes it that much more enjoyable, The only thing we did not like was the people smoking in the crowds.none the less we will be back next year.
WGC Bridgestone was fun city!
by Kimbers4101 on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5This was my first time at Firestone CC and the experience was great! Great place to view a golf tournament and the setting is lovely.
Bridgestone Invitational better than ever!
by topdawg72 on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5The golfer's were better than ever, the volunteer's & staff were awesome! If you missed it live then you missed it! From Ricky's hole out on 3 (not on TV), to the chants for Stevie on 18. Tiger was not really in contention, but to his credit he was friendlier to fans & kids than I have ever seen! My son was able to get several autographs & golf balls from Pro's. It is an inexpensive great memory to create.
A great time, even for a non-fan
by Anonymous on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5I'm not a serious golf fan, but this was a blast! And it benefited an important, high-quality community service and outreach organization, Haven of Rest. I'd do it again in a minute!! I just enjoyed moving around watching/following various twosomes and different famous players. I had much fun watching the personalities of the different players as they moved through play and fan contact. The beauty of the facilities and grounds is amazing!
WOW!
by Tecumseh55 on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5I've seen the pros. play at Firestone countless times...it never loses the magic! True athletes on a world stage at a world-class golf course.
Atmosphere was amazing...
by Nural on 8/9/11Firestone Country Club - AkronRating: 5 out of 5The players in the competition were all top of the trade. Atmosphere of the course was so much involving. The condition of course, fairways, greens, seating arrangements, security everything was high standards, matching the high profile players in the competition. The 3 hours drive from Windsor Canada was very much worth the experience. The only thing Which I wish was there that they allowed taking pictures.
