JOYWAVE IN CONCERT:
Few bands can get self-restrained indie rock fans dancing with reckless abandon quite like Joywave. The New York-based quintet blends sunny indie melodies with disco beats and shimmering synths, and the result is a seriously party-worthy sound that always gets fans moving their feet. In concert frontman Daniel Armbruster delivers his effortlessly cool vocals with plenty of style, and fans can't help but boogie along with him as he shakes to the driving rhythms of tracks like "Destruction". Whether they're performing their breakout hit "Dangerous" or rocking out to the anthemic chorus of "Tongues", Joywave brings plenty of feel-good disco energy to the stage every time they perform.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Joywave formed in Rochester, NY in 2010 and made their debut the following year with the single "Ridge". They self-released their first EP Koda Vista in 2012, and in 2013 they topped Billboard's Alternative Songs chart with "Dangerous", a collaboration with Brooklyn-based indietronica producer Big Data. The exposure from that breakout hit led to a flurry of critical attention, and the band made good on all the buzz in 2014 with their second EP How Do You Feel. As the singles "Tongues" and "Somebody New" racked up plays online, the band hit the road for extensive touring that included a performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live. After touring they returned to the studio, and in 2015 they released their full-length debut album How Do You Feel Now? The album was a critical and commercial success, cracking the Top 40 on both the Alternative and Rock charts and drumming up major excitement for their tour in support of the release.

Joywave is absolutely amazing live!! go see them if you have the chance
I didn't know that Daniel (lead singer) was One of the guys from Big Data, I liked that band... Well they did "dangerous"... And did "U" which has many different names.!! But all in all a great nite of Live music...!!!
Had a lovely experience - Joywave was fantastic and the venue was wonderful. I only wish masks had been required/strongly encouraged - I was concerned by the volume of people packed into the space without masks.
We love this concert. Joywave is so much fun. The music was great and the venue was perfect for it. We had a blast.
Been waiting to see these guys since March 2020 and they did not disappoint! Loved the crowd interactions and got to see them up close with enhanced the whole show for me
I saw Joywave at the DC101 Kerfuffle several years back, and they were great. I also saw them open for 30 Seconds To marks once. I hadn't been to a show in over a month so I decided to go to this show, and it was a great time!
Orderly line to get inside, fast through the gates, easy to find a spot. Filled up fast. Opener was great, and the Joywave show was spectacular. Really good music and engaging banter. Easy and fast to leave too, once the show was over.
I’ve been a fan of Joywave for about 4 years and have been waiting to go to one of their concerts. They surpassed my expectations! The set, the lighting and they playlist were amazing! The sound quality was epic! I will definitely be seeing them again!
Great to be back at 9:30 club!!! And Joywave was awesome - fun show, great acoustics.
Great show!!!! After 3 cancellations due to COVID it was more than worth the two year wait. Joywave is by far the best band no one knows about. Had an awesome time and can’t wait to see them again!!!
I love Joywave’s music, but their live show blew me away! So much energy in every song. Will definitely see them again next time they’re in town!
Super show; Joywave puts on a great show no matter the venue….and of course, the 9:30 club speaks for itself
They sounded great live and I had a fabulous time. They played my favorites and I discovered new titles from the show that I liked. I really hope they come back to Florida!
The sound was amazing, the stage setup was cool as hell, the band's energy was amazing, in between songs the banter was funny and he mentioned stuff about the local area which got everyone fired up, pace and placement of the songs was perfect, good firey moments to nice cool downs and back to all out nuts-ness. 10 out of 10 in my eyes, go to a Joywave show, you won't me disappointed.
One of my favorite bands in a great venue, I couldn't have been happier
This was my third time seeing Joywave ( twice in Minneapolis) this time in Florida The band always puts on a fun show and of course, the music is incredible
Great performance from almost monday and Joyway but the audio was not great. Way too much bass and not enough actual audio of those singing. Was in multiple area of the venue and was the same over saturated bass with little vocal audio. Second time seeing Joywave at Observatory and had same issue last time. Not sure if these reviews even actually make it to the artist, I hope they do so it can be addressed.
Amazing concert tgat fact they played 4 extra songs for us it was amazing
First time at this venue and it reminded me of my years of living in Seattle going to smaller GA only venues. The sound was incredible and the bands delivered!! They even had a cafe!
