About

Journey is a multi-platinum-selling rock band from San Francisco, California. Originally formed by former members of Santana, the Steve Miller Band and Frumious Bandersnatch, the band’s current lineup includes guitarist and backing vocalist Neal Schon, lead vocalist Arnel Pineda, keyboardist and guitarist Jonathan Cain, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, bassist Todd Jensen and drummer Deen Castronovo. After releasing a few albums — including their self-titled 1975 debut — throughout the early ‘70s, Journey reached a new height of commercial success on the charts with Infinity (1978), Evolution (1979) and Departure (1980), all of which were certified multi-platinum in the U.S. The band earned their first chart-topping album in 1981 with Escape, which also yielded massive hits like “Don’t Stop Believing” and “Open Arms.” Over the decades, Journey has continued to release studio albums and tour the world as one of the best-selling rock acts in music history, with their most recent album, Freedom, released in 2022.

  • Extension of songs

by LorDon on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 2 out of 5

Many of the song carried on after the main course with extended instrumentals which lost the effects of the songs. Resulted in our early departure of the event. Other early exitors commented that warmup band ‘Toto were more enjoyable’.

  • Journey/Toto

by Peter Green on 3/13/24Canada Life Centre - WinnipegRating: 5 out of 5

Went to see Toto, was very impressed with Journey. Forgot how good they were. Would definitely see them again.

  • Dissappointing

by Slic on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 2 out of 5

The voices for both Toto and Journey were poor with the musicians often drowning out the singers. We left the concert prior to any encore by Journey as we saw hundreds of people leave before us.

  • Toto and Journey

by Babs on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

What a great concert. Toto sound exactly the same as there records. Journey was amazing. Arnels voice sound exactly like Steve Perry. He sang his heart out. Reaching those high notes. Love the concert

  • Amazing

by Katrina on 3/13/24Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

Journey has been my dream band for over 30 years . They are hands down the greatest living legend . Even though Steve Perry hasn’t been with the group for many years ,Arnel filled his shoes like no one ever could !! ❤️❤️❤️

  • Awesome

by Meota on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Journey is great, but Ariel is the show! Always moving and lots of energy. Toto was excellent as well, lots of musical talent in that band. Sounded great! Would go see both again.

  • Great concert but traffic nightmare.

by Jan on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was great however getting there was not. We were late arriving in spite of leaving home well in advance with plenty of time to spare. Stuck in a traffic jam for well over an hour trying to get to the stadium and once there was parked way out at the end of the overflow parking. Missed the first half of Toto through no fault of our own. Much room for improvement Saskatoon! I am left wondering what happened?? It’s unfortunate to have to start a concert feeling stressed because of traffic not flowing as it should.

  • So disappointing!

by GW on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 2 out of 5

The sound in Sask Tel Centre was terrible and the music was way too loud and drowned out the singer and he was forced to scream! So disappointing! But Toto’s sound was awesome. Maybe the sound guys for Journey we just out to lunch !

  • Great memories

by Loved em on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Great songs when they first came out ..and still hold their own compared to the garbage artists and music coming out these days.!!!!!!

  • Great show by two fantastic bands!

by slm on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Both Toto and Journey were amazing and I’m so glad I got to see them live! Venue is okay but moving people to and from the venue before and after is very inefficient. Should not take nearly 2 hours to travel each way with no good alternatives. Shuttles are stuck in the same stop and go traffic. Embarrassing for a city trying to attract larger shows. Look to other cities who have LRT and better transportation options for patrons.

  • Amazing!

    by JPx1967 on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Both toto and Journey were an amazing experience. This is a must see Tour! Toto were simply awesome and Journey rocked the place ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Journey 2024

by Gerry on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Journey continues to get better & better…I was so impressed by each member especially how lead singer Arnel sounds so much like Steve Perry!!!! Super awesome band they’re right up there with my all time fave DeF LepparD!!!

  • Don’t Stop Believin’

by LE on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show! If you’re pondering whether or not to go, do it, go!!! Memories. The songs that take you back in time, and the memories you make by going. ❤️

  • Toto awesome......Journey was great lead singer sucked

by JRRox on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 3 out of 5

Toto did an amazing job and should have been the feature band. Journey instrumental was awesome but the lead singer just didn't fit in. Although he was a good singer he does not fit in the band at all. they should be looking elsewhere.

  • Too many guitar solos!

by KEH on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 3 out of 5

Sunday evening we went to Journey & Toto "Freedom Tour 2024"at the SaskTel Centre. Toto was AMAZING! Journey had a few great songs but their guitar player (decidedly fantastic) played a guitar solo in every single song. Every.Single.Song!! UGH. Kinda ruined it for me. But I did enjoy the evening.

  • Was great.

by Rueben on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Only gripe I had was people jumping and crowding us in front row, when we would sit, someone would jump against the fence and block the view

  • Amazing

by Enjomac on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 5 out of 5

Watching them on stage is such a wonderful moment not only Journey but also Toto like both there songs. Hoping to see them next year. ❤️

  • Disappointed with headliner

by prairiefiyboy on 3/13/24SaskTel Centre - SaskatoonRating: 3 out of 5

Toto as the opening act was very good. Vocals instruments and sound was right on the nose. Good set of songs and a great mixture of musicians.. As for the headliner journey, the sound quality was atrocious. The guitars and drums were definitely set too loud and after reviewing some video of the show, it seems that they were covering up the lead singers in ability to sing the songs properly. The Setlist for journey was also not what I expected at the beginning, a lot of catalogue songs, and not the greatest hits that you were expected. Left early due to the sound quality. I would recommend seeing Toto again. It was a great show as your journey I would not Waste your money

  • Incredible night, great music, great sound, great atmosphere

by JG on 3/12/24Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

From the moment ToTo took to the stage it was captivating, the nostalgic feelings that washed over my wife and I was overwhelming at times, we were smiling from ear to ear. Journey came on and took it to another level, i wish there was words to describe the absolute joy that we were feeling throughout the entire show. We had a fantastic time and loved the entire experiance.

  • electric performance

by trin on 3/12/24Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 5 out of 5

so much energy!! absolutely electric and the vibes were amazing. you could tell they really love doing what they do. timeless classics too
