Better Door Than Window
by Papa Winluk on 3/12/24Rogers Place - EdmontonRating: 3 out of 5After splurging for expensive floor seats to celebrate my wife’s birthday, we were literally FLOORED when a 6’6” man and his constantly arm waving wife sat in front of us. We could see the stage when the gentleman in front of us sat and we stood, but that was not very often. As it was a sold out show, there seemed to be zero options open to us, so we just sucked it up and tried to make the best of a bad situation. From what we could hear, it was great show, and I would almost give the nod to TOTO as being as good or better than Journey. A bit surprised that Journey did not perform an encore but they gave a solid 2 hour performance! Enjoyed the Jonathan Cain version of a classic Greg Rolie vocal and that JC wore an Oilers jersey. Would have been even cooler if the jersey was number 91! While on the hockey theme, also loved Steve Lukather’s tribute to Wayne Gretzky by performing 99! I will definitely think thrice before ever buying floor seats again, unless the AI algorithm prompts for the height of the guests. And the rows on the floor were so tight together you had to squeeze sideways when you tried to leave your seat. This would have been a non-issue in the seats in the stands or with offset seating.
