About

Jackson Browne has written and performed some of the most literate and moving songs in popular music and has defined a genre of songwriting charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2007.

Except for a brief period in NYC in the late 1960s, Jackson has always lived in Southern California. His debut album came out on David Geffen's Asylum Records in 1972. Since then, he has released fourteen studio albums, four collections of live performances, two "best of" compilations, two DVDs and several single recordings. Jackson's newest studio album, "Downhill From Everywhere" was released in July 2021 and GRAMMY nominated for Best Americana Album.

Browne is known for his advocacy on behalf of the environment, human rights, and arts education. He's a co-founder of the groups Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) and Nukefree.org and a member of the Ocean advocacy group, Ocean Elders.

In 2002, he was the fourth recipient of the John Steinbeck Award, given to artists whose works exemplify the environmental and social values that were essential to the great California-born author. He has received Duke University's LEAF award for Lifetime Environmental Achievement in the Fine Arts, and both the Chapin-World Hunger Year and NARM Harry Chapin Humanitarian Awards. In 2004, Jackson was given an honorary Doctorate of Music by Occidental College in Los Angeles, for "a remarkable musical career that has successfully combined an intensely personal artistry with a broader vision of social justice."

    Amazing show! Better than expected.

by Ben Dover on 10/25/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

This was such an awesome show. The sound was great, his voice was great, and the whole band was great. They played for 3 hours with just a short intermissions. I can't think of a single song he didn't play. So glad I decided to go because I was on the fence.

    Jackson is THE BEST

by Wendy on 10/24/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

What a great show! We had never been to The Pantages! It was absolutely beautiful and the sound was perfect! I have seen Jackson numerous times over the past 40 years, but this show was really special. He really was having a good time. He told LOTS of stories about his younger days in Los Angeles and playing with David Lindley and Glenn Frey. Very special memories. His band was great. Each member was fantastic. I wish I had gotten tickets to all the LA shows!!!!

Amazing Night with Jackson Browne and Company

by Liz M on 10/24/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I have seen Jackson Browne perform numerous times through the years since the 70's. This concert was right up there as one of his best. Jackson sounded so good and was warm and engaging with the audience. His band and singers were excellent. It was an amazing night! As a long time Jackson fan, I was so blessed to have seen his show at The Pantages.

Great Show! Great Venue! Rapacious Parking contractor

by Rockergirl on 10/24/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Show was great, venue was great, driving around was a little tough due to the street fair but we made it. Pulled into the parking lot behind the Pantages and they wanted $60 for parking. That is just plain greed and they were very rude. Drove 50 feet across alley to beautifully clean, well light, courteous employees parking structure for $25.

    JB at his best!

by JB fan on 10/24/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Jackson Browne’s show at the Pantages was one of the best I’ve seen. I saw him in Vegas the week before but LA was a lot better. He seemed in his element being at home in LA. He took requests, dedicated Sky Blue and Black to the four Pepperdine students who recently died in Malibu, gave a shout out to El Segundo and didn’t seem to want to leave the stage. His voice is as good as it ever was and his band is amazing. Wish it was recorded it was that good.

    great show

by oldscool on 10/24/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Great show, but as usual I got the exuberant fan sitting next to me. Bouncing up and down, shaking my seat, filming with a light (until the guy in front threatened her) talking constantly. I know, some people are clueless, but they seem to be drawn to me like a moth to a flame. I know this is not a review of Jackson, but it always affects my enjoyment of the show.

Great concert - Jackson still rocks on

by Nick Nac and Patty Wac on 10/24/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Played a majority of my favorites songs and some that are soon to be my favs. Great acoustics and great seats. Never been to a JB concert that wasn't great. My wife and myself have been fans since his 1st album. Many songs bring back memories of our youth and helped me get thru my PTSD episodes post VietNam. Keep on keeping on.

    Jackson Turns Back The Clock

by Ron L on 10/24/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

Jackson Browne turned back the clock for his hometown concert last night at the beautiful Hollywood Pantages Theater performing for almost 3 hours with a short intermission changing songs due to shout outs from fans and speaking of his love of Los Angeles, honoring his friends David Lindley and Glenn Frey, sounding like he did 50 years ago with a fantastic band of musicians and back up singers.

    Awesome concert!

by Richard on 10/24/23Hollywood Pantages Theatre - Los Angeles

I have seen Jackson Browne live for at least 50 years now, starting in small clubs like The Roxy, and proceeding with big shows at the Forum, Hollywood Bowl, etc. I can honestly say that this last concert at the Pantages Theater was at least as good as any of them. The sound quality was...dare I say it...PERFECT! I could hear Jackson's voice (which sounded as good as ever, despite his age), and each and every instrument clearly. And what a great band he has, and great backup singers. The setlist ran the gamut of his most famous songs, along with a few that I wasn't familiar with, including the opening with just Jackson and his guitar doing a Warren Zevon song I had never heard before, "Don't Let Us Get Sick."This was perfect for a crowd of mostly grey-haired folks like myself. He performed for a good while, and then there was an intermission, and he came back out and did another long set, followed by a few encores. Overall, it was something like a 3 hour show, which reminded me of Bruce Springsteen concerts. If you have a chance to go see him on this tour, by all means secure tickets and enjoy a wonderful performance!
