About

I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE is the brand-new hit stage show adapted from the most beloved program in television history! America’s favorite foursome – Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel – is live on stage and in color for the very first time!

It’s 1952 and you are a member of the studio audience awaiting the filming of two hilarious and oh-so-familiar I LOVE LUCY® episodes.  Imagine stepping back in time onto the Desilu Playhouse soundstage where a charming host entertains and enlightens you to the behind-the-scenes filming process, the 1950s hi-fidelity technology and this brand-new thing called “television.” The episodes begin and you witness, firsthand, the side-splitting antics of that crazy redhead in the Ricardo’s New York apartment and thrill to the Cuban sounds of “The Ricky Ricardo Orchestra” at the famed Tropicana Nightclub. In-between scenes? The Crystaltone Singers perform live advertising jingles of the show’s newest sponsors in perfect 50s style harmony. Can you say “Brylcreem?!”

L.A. Examiner’s Ron Irwin says I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE is “an absolutely brilliant and utterly engaging tribute to that iconic television show!” TV Guide’s William Keck calls it, “the most entertaining stage production I’ve seen in years – including Broadway!”

The truth is in the title – whether young or old, everybody really does LOVE LUCY!

    We LOVED Lucy!

by Spamtastic on 4/20/15Peabody Opera House - St. Louis

I took my wife to this show, as we are both fans of "I Love Lucy" - my wife, in particular. This show did not disappoint. It took a few minutes to get used to the idea of "someone else" filling the roles we all know so well, but once we got into the show it was very VERY good. The cast was tremendous - all of them, including the "host" and the supporting cast of dancers, singers, the band. All excellent, and funny! I am typically very critical when it comes to live performances. I don't even go to concerts anymore because I'd rather hear music than see someone perform it. But this was an outstanding show. Well paced, with no slow spots. I'd actually pay to see it again if they came back with new episodes.

    Best production I've ever seen!!

by Vernon695 on 4/1/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

I Love Lucy Live On Stage was absolutely positively spectacular! My most favorite TV show made into a live reenactment put on stage, how could it get better?! I've seen a lot of shows in my day and this one was by far the best one I've ever seen. Definitely looking in the future for an opportunity to see this fabulous production again!

    I Love Lucy was FAB

by NTTN on 4/1/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

My friend and I enjoyed everything preparing for the show - from the I Love Lucy beverage (and Keep cup from the Civic Cntr) to the articles offered for sale - and watching in aww that wonderful little lady for 1952 meeting and greeting the other guests. The show itself was fun - the actors wonderful and the announcer and "commercials" made you feel you could really be there. My only complaint was w/ the Civic Center itself - there was some STRONG fragrance that seemed to have been used as and air freshener or cleaner and it cause a bit of a headache, at one point I had to close my eyes _ so I missed some of the show.

    I Love LUCY!!!!

by GiraffeinaHat on 4/1/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

I loved every minute of I Love Lucy!!!! We were amazed that 2 hours had flown by! I took my Mom (91) and she had a ball! She especially enjoyed the dance routines...reminding me that she did the Jitterbug and Charleston back in the day! The casting was perfect..."Ricky" was gorgeous and so was his voice! Lucy's outfits were perfect and she had the mannerisms down pat! Thanks to the BTL for bringing this to Huntsville!

    We Loved Lucy!

by HTLee on 4/1/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

From the time the curtain opened till the lights went out, you felt like you were in Hollywood California in the 50's. The announcer was fantastic and kept it realistic to that era. All the commercials, camera men and main actors were so true to character. It brought tears to my eyes in remembrance of that time and the greats that are no longer here. Thank you for bringing this to our area.

I Love Lucy on Stage was delightful!

by Dougy222 on 3/31/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

America has watched and laughed at the TV show "I Love Lucy" for over 60+ years now. This live stage production was a delightful version of two of the TV episodes plus musical renditions of TV commercials during this time era. I would have given it five stars if the music had been original like a Broadway play.

    I Love Lucy AWESOME

by BrittBratt1987 on 3/31/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

My daughter, who is 28, began watching re-runs of I Love Lucy as a very small child...2-3 years old. She was so enamored with her she watched the video's daily. She began collecting I Love Lucy memorabilia and had hundreds of items. As an adult with a daughter of her own, still never a day passes that she and my granddaughter don't watch multiple episodes of I Love Lucy. She knows the dialogue by heart. So it was a no-brainer when the opportunity to see I Love Lucy Live On Stage came along. My daughter and I attended, as my granddaughter is still too young. It was phenomenal and left us wanting more. Fabulous production, could see it again and again.

    I Loved "I Love Lucy"

by 1BamaBacker on 3/31/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

The cast and crew did an outstanding job of simulating the taping of two episodes of "I Love Lucy" in the 1950s. The familiarity with the two episodes and the entire series made for a comforting experience. The actors did a good job of portraying four of the most well known television actors in one of the most popular situation comedies of all time. Dezi's signature "Bobalou" number was spot on. The musicians nailed all the music. This is more than just nostalgia, it is fine acting and staging.

    I Love Lucy was wonderful!

by cherylc1228 on 3/31/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

The play was wonderful and with a few exceptions, the scenes were true to the television show. I enjoyed the reenactment of commercials between scenes and the behind the scenes glimpses from that era in broadcasting. I would definitely go again.

You forget it's not the real TV show!

by JediMaster0324 on 3/31/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

It's like watching an actual episode of I Love Lucy, only better! The actors are spot on, especially Ricky and Fred. The second "episode" features Ricky, which appeals to me as I am a big Desk Arnaz fan. If you love Lucy, you will not be disappointed!

    I Loved Lucy!

by DeeR65 on 3/30/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

This was a very enjoyable play. The acting and stage was very, very, good. Brought back a lot of good memories from an amazing time in history. The only problem I had was hearing the actors. The audio could have been a little louder.

    Ho Hum

by Cliffaugust on 3/30/15Von Braun Center Concert Hall - Huntsville

The logistics of actually doing this type of production is overwhelming. Kudos to the cast! The band was awesome! The set was exceptional! Yet is was a letdown when it came to the actual script of the show: very lame jokes...boring. It was really built up in advertising, yet was merely "okay" overall. And the popcorn was good.
