I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE is the brand-new hit stage show adapted from the most beloved program in television history! America’s favorite foursome – Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel – is live on stage and in color for the very first time!
It’s 1952 and you are a member of the studio audience awaiting the filming of two hilarious and oh-so-familiar I LOVE LUCY® episodes. Imagine stepping back in time onto the Desilu Playhouse soundstage where a charming host entertains and enlightens you to the behind-the-scenes filming process, the 1950s hi-fidelity technology and this brand-new thing called “television.” The episodes begin and you witness, firsthand, the side-splitting antics of that crazy redhead in the Ricardo’s New York apartment and thrill to the Cuban sounds of “The Ricky Ricardo Orchestra” at the famed Tropicana Nightclub. In-between scenes? The Crystaltone Singers perform live advertising jingles of the show’s newest sponsors in perfect 50s style harmony. Can you say “Brylcreem?!”
L.A. Examiner’s Ron Irwin says I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE is “an absolutely brilliant and utterly engaging tribute to that iconic television show!” TV Guide’s William Keck calls it, “the most entertaining stage production I’ve seen in years – including Broadway!”
The truth is in the title – whether young or old, everybody really does LOVE LUCY!
The show was great. The characters were very close to the original characters, esp. Lucy!! Entertaining and funny!
It was fantastic!!!! I would recommend "I Love Lucy" live on stage for a great family outing.
Very entertaining and fast paced..loved the live commercial skits and Mrs. Fig, an audience member! The actors and actresses, did a great job portraying Lucy and Desi!
My parent rememebered every commerical & jingle - Got a kick out of watching them laugh!
The actors did very well! They obviously watched plenty of episodes to embrace the characters to the different funny faces they made and mannerisms. It was so fun! Ricky had a great accent and bad English. LUCY was hilarious with her neighbors. They definitely used our favorite lines in the show. I liked the "commercials" they did that were part of the show. I just think they did maybe 2 too many.
I Love Lucy was fabulous. Everyone's part were true to the original characters. I felt like I was watching the old reruns. They made me believe I was watching Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. I wish it was an hour longer. The commercials were very entertaining. No complaints at all!!
A unique performance. Great interaction with the audience!
This was a really terrific production. My mom and I loved the way it was presented, that there was no intermission, it was really funny, and great performances! Can't say enough good things about it. And you forgot it wasn't really Lucille Ball on stage, the voice and the mannerisms WERE Lucy! We would see it again!
I was not the actual person going to see "I love lucy", the tickets were bought for my aunts birthday and my mom went with her. They said it was awesome and the actors were spot on at playing and even sounded just like Lucy, Desi, Fred and Elthel. They had so much good to say about it nothing negative. They really enjoyed it and had a good time.
The show was 2 hours long. Longer than I thought it would be. It did need an intermission to use rest room or just stretch. Highly recommend
I Love Lucy Live on Stage was excellent. The actors had the parts of Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel down perfectly, and the supporting cast was also excellent. The fellow playing the eye doctor had Frank Nelson's voice and mannerisms down perfectly.
this stage show was wonderful. first time to an event like this, me and my wife both loved it, she is a avid lucy fan. We are looking forward to attending another stage play.
I Love Lucy was a delight. Everyone in the cast performed so well in character. Not only did they act like the real characters., they even sounded like the real characters. The play brought back so many memories of watching the TV show as a child. The commercials were fun also. I recalled most of the words to the commercials. A much younger person who sat next to me found it difficult to believe commercials were actually like the ones presented on stage. Times have certainly changed. I feel privileged to have seen the original I Love Lucy series and also feel privileged to have seen parts of it relived on stage. Thank you for a wonderful production.
The show was cute. It was overpriced for the performance that we saw. We drove from Kansas City to St. Louis to see it. I would not recommend it to friends. It was not worth the drive.
The show was absolutely amazing. Desi seemed so real. The entire show was better than i imagined it to be. Since i am a fan of the show it was just like being there.
The sketches were pretty right on to their originals. The main characters especially Ricky Ricardo character did a good job impersonating Desi Arnaz. The Fred Mertz character needed to be a little more comedic. But all in all it was entertaining but slightly amateurish. We may seem a bit critical but we lived in the Los Angeles area for 30+ years and saw many theactrical performances both professionals in LA and Hollywood as well as in our city.
The show provided a nice flashback to my childhood. Although I was convinced that NO ONE could adequately play Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel, I was pleasantly surprised. Also it was fun re-living the commercials during each break.
Very nice venue!! The play was entertaining and fast paced! We had a very nice time!
Amazing performance. Thoroughly entertaining and took me back to the 1950s. The experience was a magical reliving of a pivotal time in television and American entertainment history.
Amazing performance and the actors did a great job.
