Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend Tickets

It was so worth my money to go see Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band and Ed Sheeran. I never went to Iowa but I don’t live far so I decided to try it out and see famous country music stars in person for first time in my life for this many music artists. The Security and track staff at Iowa was excellent. Couple examples is I didn’t know I needed a wristband for concert even though concert 1 was going to start but security worker was so kind in letting me get wristband before 2nd concert so that I didn’t miss what I paid most of my money for in this event. Last example is I had my concert wristband for Sunday Raceday but forgot a garage pass, I was willing to pay for another garage pass but ticketing event worker said he remembered me when I came over before and didn’t charge me. Those two examples truly show how much appreciation I have for Iowa Speedway. The INDYCAR races didn’t have much excitement but everyone I’ve met who works or races in INDYCAR is so kind especially autograph sessions is why I didn’t complain about this race weekend. I had great garage passes to see what INDYCAR workers do and walking by their haulers is eye opening. I also enjoyed how close I could be with drivers and crew members. It’s a memory I’ll never forget.

A big shoutout to the whole staff who organized the event and was on-site. Except for some communication problems to exchange my parking receipt for a parking ticket (which didn’t exist at the end), everything was great. The crowd management/security was really efficient. During the concerts, my wife didn’t feel well and several staff members asked her if she was okay.

Races were great, concerts were great, we were in the pit area and only had HyVee food a not so good pork sandwich and Pepsi costs $17.50 talk about gouging your employees HY VEE! Pit seating was awesome but had to move to the stadium seats to see concerts.

The HyVee Indycar weekend was wonderful as always with the exception of ticket prices and ticketing services provided by Ticketmaster.

Iowa speedway - Great for Indy Car - Not great for concerts - Great Artist - Not great sound - Great food - Not great parking

It was definitely an experience I had never had before. It was very cool to see the car races and the concerts. There were a lot of vendors and food choices which was great. I did not buy the tickets to get on the track only the seats. As someone with no experiences with racetracks I had no idea what to expect. I wish I had gotten the tickets to be on the racetrack to see the bands because in the seats the sound echoed badly. The racetrack did not seem like they knew how to handle large crowds bc parking and getting out was terrible. There were no signs as to where we should park; I just followed a bunch of cars. We ended up parking about a mile away from the racetrack. They had trams taking you to and from different parking sections. Getting out was a nightmare, I must’ve waited about an hour and a half to get out, they had lanes closed. I could not figure out how to get to 80 because every way my GPS would redirect cops were saying no entrance. Even when we asked the police about getting on 80 they would assure it was the correct way and we ended up take some dirt roads for almost 30 minutes (I’m not even sure which direction - I just know we ended up in some town called grinell) before we were able to get on 80. I’m from Chicago so I don’t know know if my expectations were too high but as someone who did not know the area I was getting very frustrated. I had a 4 hour drive home my expectation was that I would get home at 11/12, I didn’t get home until 2.

We drove 5 hours to see the race and Zac Brown Band and Ed Sheeran. Top not event that exceeded expectations. Will go again next year

Absolutely excellent entertainment! The music by the Zach Brown Band and Ed Sheeran was top notch. What professionals! Mixing music with Indycar Racing adds to the day- long event. Amazing to have this level of talent right in my backyard!!!! Enjoyed the Wahlburgers lunch also. Thanks to HyVee for sponsoring this event.

Everything was super well organized! Free drink-water and electrolyte drinks all over the place and cooling boxes. The weather was miserable but they did all their best to make it doable!!

Where we were sitting the speaker kept going out and it was hard to hear both concerts on Sunday. It was quite a chunk of change for 4 tickets and not being able to hear either concert very well. Free parking and the price of food was great! They were very quick with going from one event to the next.
