Hy-Vee INDYCAR Race Weekend Tickets

So, a Great event, turned in to an OK event. Due to the HY-VEE track workers, telling people that, if they had tickets, they had automatic access to the infield for the Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney Shows...THIS WAS NOT TRUE!!! After spending close to $300.00 a ticket, X's 3. We were told, after the fact. We needed to get a special ribbon to get on the field...ONLY PROBLEM, they mentioned this after we stood in line for 30 minutes to get on the field...then walk down to the entry to the field, only to be pulled out of line while others with CHEAP SEATS got full access to the concert on the field. THAT IS MESSED-UP!!! Then we had to wait for thousands of fans to pass us by in order to get back to our $300.00 a seat reserved seating/with concert access. Why didn't the venue insure those of us that purchased the more expensive tickets get first access to the infield. TOTAL NONSENSE TO BE TREATED THIS WAY!!! THIS REALLY TURNED A GREAT DAY, INTO JUST OK. How can the venue get away with this type of nonsense. Total confusion with the workers VS. the folks letting us on the field!!! We watched this happen over and over. A lot of people were VERY upset about this poor handling of premier ticket purchases. I could have just bought a cheap seat for this treatment, and had access to the infield. No one in our 100 section seating ever mentioned the ribbon, they just kept telling everyone "you have full access to the infield when the shows start"...NOT AT ALL TRUE! Hundreds of us with these $300.00 seats were turned away at the gate that let us onto the field. I'm sure we're not the only upset fan about this poor treatment. HOW DISAPPOINTING TO SPEND THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY ONLY TO BE DENIED ACCESS THAT WE WERE PROMISED VIA THE EXPENSIVE TICKETS. The Race was awesome, the rest needs improvement, the concert access was totally screwed up. Created a bad vibe in the stands. Worst part is this was a special day for our nephew. Who just finished his cancer treatments the week before. This was to celebrate another Iowan beating cancer. He was so disappointed. It took every once of energy for him to just to make the event. Only to be turned away from what we paid for! We of course made the best out of a bad situation and looked for all the good in it, we could find. But You should be aware of the bait and switch tactics. This one issues didn't ruin our day. but it did put a cloud over it.

Good time the only thing was the echo on the large screen we were sitting in section 408 .

The setup for this race and concert is amazing. Even better than last year. Problem is it needs to be a night race and concert. To hot. Also the reason for the poor review was the sound quality at the concert was horrendous. I went last year and it was perfect which I couldn’t believe outside at this large event. This year whatever they did didn’t work. Absolutely horrible. I took my whole family and moved seats to three different parts of the track hoping that it was better but it was awful everywhere. Kenny Chesney is one of my all time favorites and we left early it was so bad. Not his fault at all.

We had seats in the grandstand lower row. I was extremely disappointed with the sound system for the concerts. Both of these talents are amazing and when the sound is so terrible that you can't recognize what they are singing unless you know the song is just terrible. The delay for Carrie's concert was horrible and the background was so loud for Kenney that you couldn't hear him. We ended up leaving early. The race was good but probably won't spend that kind of money for a concert at this venue again.

This day was the best. Thanks to Hy-Vee, as a Plus member I was able to get my tickets for a very reasonable price. What could be better than two big country stars? Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney were the greatest. The concerts were what drew me to buy tickets. My husband and I are big NASCAR fans and had never seen an Indy race. Wow, I think we're hooked. Totally different form of racing. Thank you Hy-Vee for sponsoring such a great weekend.

Beautiful day, well organized, exciting race, 2 great concerts with Carrie Underwood and the reason for my 9 hour drive from Ohio was to see Kenny Chesney! He did not disappoint!

We enjoyed the racing a lot! What a great track to watch Indycar racing! My daughters were excited to see all the bands playing, we sat in sections 103 & 107 on the 2 different days.. the sound from the concerts totally sucked! It went in and out and was out of sync. Base was way to loud. This is way overpriced for what we got as far as the concert experience, hence I am giving this a 3 star rating. If sound would’ve been better, it’s a 5 star event.

We sat in section 307 and had a pretty good view of the race, however the sound coming from the loudspeakers was absolutely horrible. There was a constant echo and you could not even understand what was being said over the loud speakers. In my opinion, the Carrie Underwood concert was absolutely ruined by this echo and terrible sound control. Several people in our section got up and left during the concert because the sound was so bad. I'm not sure that I'd attend another concert at this particular venue. The cost of the tickets was way too expensive for a bad sound experience.

For parking pass, we had to go to building A. Couldn't park without doing that. For garage passes, had to go to ticket booth 1. For concert pit upgrade, had to go to ticket booth also. Too much running around, we almost missed our garage time. When it was lunch time, not enough food vendors! WAY too long of lines. Everything else went pretty smoothly.

VIP was awesome except there was only an entrance once you got thru the pit area of several thousand people, not much communication on the part of the speedway that’s for sure . That is a real good way to get some dirty looks and drunk fights!

Was a first-timer to an Indy Car Event, and will definitely come back. Very well run event, from parking to concessions, to the entertainment. The only downfall was the speaker system, during the concerts... seemed abit off, and echoed. But all in all, it was a fun experience!

We had a fabulous time going to the concerts and races!! The only thing we wish would be different is being able to take in our own snacks and drinks.

Iowa Speedway IndyCar was very poorly run; traffic was backed up 4 miles onto the highway waiting to get into the event, I stood in line for 45 minutes to purchase food at a concession stand, and the racing was very boring (5 cars finished on the lead lap, with one pass for the lead under green). I have been to many races, COTA, 24 hours at Daytona, Indianapolis, Phoenix, and this was the worst run race that I have ever attended. The concerts were the only redeeming quality for this event. I will not be back, and I will tell my friends to avoid Iowa Speedway.

The speakers during Carrie underwood and Kenny cues net were way off time and I couldn’t understand a single word they were saying.

I purchased a $60.00 parking pass for Friday that wasn’t honored at the event. Could not redeem or get any help with downloading the needed pass. Had to park in general parking and walk a considerable distance. Disappointing start to the event….😕
