Everything was super good. It already had an amazing soundtrack!
What an amazing thing - watching the movie that started it all, with every note of the wonderful John Williams score performed live by an outstanding orchestra! The experience was extra special because everyone in the audience was enthralled as well. Cheering for the good guys, applauding loudly after exceptional musical interludes... it was so much fun!
I can't wait to take my 10 year old to the Chamber of Secrets showing. The Columbus Symphony Orchestra was magnificent!
The orchestra did a phenomenal job. It really made me appreciate the music more than I ever had before - especially in the quiet moments when I was so caught up in the scene, I didn't necessarily realize music was playing. It made me fall in love with the movie and the music all over again. On the other hand, I wish the Theater staff had done a better job controlling crowd distractions. I loved that we clapped during our favorite songs and moments, but the people around me were talking non-stop throughout the entire show. The people next to me started discussing dinner plans 5 minutes into the performance, and the people behind me were chatting about snacks. Late comers were entering the theater for the first 15 minutes of the performance, so there were lights and people standing up, and it was horribly distracting. Overall, I loved the show, but I was not impressed with the venue.
This was fantastic. The orchestra did an amazing job. We all had a great time and can't wait for the Chamber of Secrets.
The live music was amazing! Watching the movie, the whole theatre was interactive....laughing, applauding, cheering!!! SOOO fun! I would definitely do this again!!
I didn't realize they were going to show the entire Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone movie. The music was flawless! It blended in so well that you forgot you were at the symphony. In fact the movie overshadowed the music, which is sad. But we had fun. Just seemed kinda pricey for tickets to a movie I've already seen.
The Columbus Symphony Orchestra flawlessly performed the score to the film that was the beginning of a lifetime of happiness celebrated by all ages. 5 stars for Hufflepuff!
This was a phenomenal experience that I can only equate to the heyday of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The conductor began the evening by reminding everyone that this was not a typical symphonic performance, and that everyone could - and should - clap, cheer, boo, and laugh with the musicians as they played for the film. I hate to say they played so well I forgot they were playing - but it was that good! And they are supposedly returning to Columbus to play/screen the second film in the Harry Potter franchise too!
Fantastic. Beautiful music. Wonderful interaction. Better than I could have imagined. Thank you
The show was so much fun! The orchastra was so good that there were times I forgot it was the orchastra doing the music! They had all of the music perfectly on queue as far as I could tell (i am no musician though).
The music was really beautiful! I was very impressed with the entire event.
Excellent performance by the CSO! Atmosphere was fun and loved the beauty of the Ohio Theatre!
The event was overpriced and too long for what it was. The orchestra was great but you kind of forget they are there playing while you're watching the movie.
This was a great experience. While we couldn't see the entire orchestra because of where our seats were located and the screen, it was still amazing. The orchestra performed the entire sound track as well as all the music through the credits. We can't wait for the official announcement for Chamber of Secrets!!
I had a really great time at this event! My only complaint is that I couldn't see all of the orchestra because of the placement of the screen. I'm familiar with the movie - the novelty of this is that I'm hearing our orchestra play it, so I want to be able to see them. I could see the strings, but not the woodwinds, brass, or percussion. That was the only thing that was disappointing. Everything else was great! I was even excited to see that even the diagetic music was played by the orchestra.
Our entire family loved the show - including cynical teenagers. We could hear kids throughout the theater humming the theme song -- it was adorable.
Symphony was outstanding in their performance however the crowd was way too loud and seemed to care more about the movie than the music. We left at intermission because of the amount of talking and cheering for the movie versus appreciating the music and giving respect to the fact that a movie was playing and you should behave the same as you would in a theater. The crowd made this unpleasant. Wish I could get my money back
Wow. Such an amazing performance! Can't wait to go again!
The venue was breathtaking! The architecture of the inside was reminiscent of the look of movie theatres I remember as a child. Watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is much better on the big screen than on a television set. The Orchestra was a thrill to listen to, they did a fantastic job of bringing that music to life!
