  • Please be quiet and enjoy the performance

    by Potterfan1223455 on 3/28/17Ohio Theatre - ColumbusRating: 1 out of 5

Symphony was outstanding in their performance however the crowd was way too loud and seemed to care more about the movie than the music. We left at intermission because of the amount of talking and cheering for the movie versus appreciating the music and giving respect to the fact that a movie was playing and you should behave the same as you would in a theater. The crowd made this unpleasant. Wish I could get my money back

Wow. Such an amazing performance! Can't wait to go again!

  • Columbus Symphony Orchestra was amazing!

by Devizes on 3/28/17Ohio Theatre - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was breathtaking! The architecture of the inside was reminiscent of the look of movie theatres I remember as a child. Watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is much better on the big screen than on a television set. The Orchestra was a thrill to listen to, they did a fantastic job of bringing that music to life!

  • I don't even like potter

I bought tickets for my wife. I'm Not even a Harry Potter fan but this show was absolutely amazing. From an all around standpoint this was the best show I have ever seen ever. Not concert or movie. But all around performance by everyone involved.

This was so fun to watch! The orchestra did a fabulous job with the music from the movie. I loved seeing the movie on such a big screen, too. It was also great that the movie subtitles were incorporated, too! What a great idea! Hope more is to come!

Totally amazing, to biggest problem was the orchestra was so good you got lost in the movie and forgot you were there for the live concert! Totally fantastic experience can't wait for the next one.

  • HARRY POTTER MOVIE, AND ORCHESTRA

by SIXTHGIRL on 3/28/17Ohio Theatre - ColumbusRating: 3 out of 5

I didn't realize you were showing the whole movie (which we have seen 40 times)..... I thought you would feature the orchestra playing the score from the movie, maybe with scenes from the movie on the screen.... Showing the whole movie made it VERY long. But the orchestra did a great job.

  • Onto the Chamber of Secrets!

by Connoisorcerer on 3/26/17New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

A simply fantastic symphonic and nostalgic experience. Me and my girlfriend could not have been more thrilled with the opportunity. As someone who studied and truly appreciates music productions and the intricacies of live performance, the NJSO were outstanding. Already bought our tickets for the Chamber of Secrets this October! Harry Potter fan or someone who wants to experience a movie night in a whole different way? Don't hesitate to buy!

Such a great experience. The live performance to accompany the movie was beautiful.

  • Mixed Feelings

by laurab123 on 3/14/17New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 4 out of 5

I have mixed feelings about this performance, which is why I gave it 4 stars. On one hand, the orchestra was SO good that I tended to forget they were there and I just got caught up in the movie. On another hand, it was fun to watch them play when I remembered this was a live show! If you have instrumentalists in your family, it's really fun to watch. We sat about 3 rows behind the sound box, at the back of the orchestra. It was a pretty good place to clearly see the screen, that was high enough up for shorter people (like me!) to not have the heads in front of you in the way. I walked down to Row C, where my original seats were (I had switched), and there you were really only able to see the musicians in the front row as the orchestra was higher up on the stage, which made it harder to see those in the back. I guess the best place to sit may have been 1st mezzanine, on the side so that you are higher AND closer to the stage.

  • The orchestra made the movie

I loved the movie, but it was so much better with the orchestra.

  • Great entertainment

First of all, hats off to the orchestra. They brought Harry potter to life. Nothing more to say.

  • Harry Potter was GREAT.

Had such a great time. The music was unbelievable. Amazing experience.

  • We loved it!

by PotterFan17 on 3/14/17New Jersey Performing Arts Center - NewarkRating: 5 out of 5

The orchestra was incredible! The movie was engaging as always and I found we forgot the orchestra was playing, they were that good. The music melded with the film perfectly. In a way I felt I should be paying more attention to the orchestra than I was since they were so incredible, but then I'd get drawn into the film again. Our girls are 14 and 9 and they loved it too. Looking forward to the next one with the second film.
