  • HP1 + Jax Orchestra @ Daily's

    by Ant8 on 10/17/17Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

What a cool amphitheater attached to Everbank Stadium in Jacksonville. It was our first time at Daily's amphitheater. As big Harry Potter fans, it was a delight listening to the live music performed by the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra that accompanied the first HP film. Not only was John William's music phenomenal, but the outdoor, covered venue provided a neat setting for such an event.

  • Great show, good venue, bad parking

by Anonymous on 10/17/17Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 3 out of 5

The show was excellent. Highly recommended. Our seats were good, if cramped. Somewhere on the website, or our tickets it would have been very helpful if it had been made clear that the parking included in admission was only for specific lots, which the folks directing traffic apparently didn't know. Once we did find our lot, everyone was just parking wherever they found a spot, so more folks directing traffic would have been helpful.

My wife and I have had the opportunity to see similar events with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, and they did not disappoint. It was a very enjoyable evening, brought back memories of our kids when they were younger. The orchestra was superb, all in all a great time was had by all.

  • Symphony was amazing

This was a wonderful event! I hope they have more events like this in the future. The symphony was outstanding and the crowd was great!

We have enjoyed the movie several times at home but to have the Philharmonic play live while watching it was a treat! They did a fantastic job! Hope they will do another HP movie in the future.

  • Harry Potter Concert was MAGICAL

by AshHats on 10/17/17Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing experience! I went with a fellow Hufflepuff and we absolutely LOVED this concert! The movie along with the movie music score being played live in front of us was just so surreal! Would definitely attend again!

Awesome performance! Well worth the money! Sometimes I couldn’t tell what was the movie vs the orchestra because they were just that good!

The symphony was flawless and made the movie ten times better than it was originally, which is something I didn't know could be done. What I will say is that it could have been somewhere air conditioned. The prices at the venue for drinks and snacks were beyond ridiculous. Overall a great experience minus those two minor flaws. Those were venue specific and had nothing to do with the movie or symphony.

  • Magical night

    by AndieP1 on 10/17/17Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

When I got the notice about the Harry Potter and the symphony show from the library I was unsure. I had not been to Daily’s Place and did not know what to expect. My niece and 2 of her friends were game to try so tickets were purchased. Over the next few weeks questions kept our text messages humming. How would it work?, would people dress for the symphony or a movie? what if it rains? Finally the day arrived and it did rain and stopped and rained all afternoon. Driving into downtown we could see the rain but by the time we parked (very easy) it had stopped. Our group joined others getting a photo with the inside of the stadium in the background, grabbed a snack then found our (well covered and very dry) seats. The venue is beautiful and the sound amazing. Little wizards were everywhere having such a fun time. Even getting to interact with the musicians before the movie began. The conductor invited us to make noise, clap and cheer our favorites on, which we all did! The musical score was replaced entirely by the orchestra and it was fantastic. Many of us stayed until the last note of the credits was complete to express our appreciation. Thank you all and please plan for the sequels!

  • Childhood Dreams Come True

by Balexander on 10/17/17Daily's Place - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I'm 22 now so I grew up watching Harry Potter and I can say it was truly amazing. The idea was very unique and I cherished the atmosphere. I felt in unity with the other guest, like we were attending a live performance. There was clapping, cheering and a few boos(mostly for Slytherin House). Worth every penny.

  • Ok, Idea

by NickDeal on 10/17/17Morrison Center for the Performing Arts - BoiseRating: 3 out of 5

When I saw this event I was excited. I got into the Harry Potter books and movies late, I believe the 3rd movie was out before I read the books. Since then I have loved the series so when I saw this I wanted to go. The idea is ok but not anything new or really interesting. You basically watch the first movie with the movie's soundtrack removed and played instead by the orchestra. This doesn't really add anything to the experience. The screen that was used was tiny and the orchestra added or upped the level in some parts so what you are used to hearing is different. Given that this wasn't that different of an experience than just sitting at home and watching the movie, which would probably be a better experience I would not recommend this unless you really want to go sit next to a bunch of other people and watch the first movie.

  • H.P. & B.P. Great Combo!

It was great, my son really enjoyed it. We went hungry though, since after the tickets there wasn't enough funds for concessions. 10 bucks for popcorn?

  • Even better than anticipated

Did not expect the interactive audience! It was so engaging. What a great way to help young people fall in love with the orchestra
