  • Wonderful evening

by KitKat on 11/17/25Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

My friend and I bought tickets to try something new. The soloists, the orchestra members and the choir were all amazing!! The only suggestion we would have is that it would be helpful to play a bit of the movie just to help make connections.

  • Disappointed ☹️

by StickyFoot on 11/17/25Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 2 out of 5

Overall a huge disappointment. I love music scores in general and Hans Zimmer is fantastic but the orchestra just did not deliver. They were average in quality and performance execution, definitely not the level expected with a professional traveling orchestra. Many mistakes made throughout the performance with staying in beat. They also performed the entirety of Circle of Life twice??? Once during the second act and again after they all took a bow and then told us they had one last song....something we had just heard 30 min prior. The only saving grace were the two women soloists, very talented women that added greatly to the show.

  • Great musicianship, but left wanting more

by TK on 11/17/25Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

I bought these tickets hoping it would be a similar musical caliber to Hans Zimmer’s live shows. The musicians are very talented and I enjoyed the night, but was left desiring more for what I paid for. Pros: - I loved the first half of the show - the music was thoughtful and complete and the audience was very engaged - I LOVED the vocalists that were featured during the show - they were incredible and I wish I could get more information about them to hear more of their music. - it was great to hear some background on Hans Zimmer from the host, Dominic - that was a very cool touch! - the orpheum as a venue is great! Beautiful, historic, and always a treat to experience! The staff at the Orpheum were courteous, efficient, and a delight to interact with. Cons: - the original date for the show had a 630 start time. The rescheduled time was slated for 8pm, with an end time of after 10pm. This caused a lot of people to try to rush out at the end of the concert, even after it wasn’t completely over. I understand that there is sometimes nothing that can be done about rescheduled dates and times, but this was an unfortunate situation. - the promoting of a sort of sketchy Facebook page repeatedly during the concert was a bit uncomfortable. It wasn’t a “here’s how you can find more information on our public page” and more of a “follow this account with a friend request and there might be something in it for you later” vibe. It felt very desperate and was uncomfortable to hear multiple times. - The music was beautiful, but the slight delay of the keyboard made the music feel off beat and the partitions in front of the percussion and some brass instruments muted their sound a bit too much. - The second half of the show felt chaotic. Only snippets of lesser-known songs were played and it felt very disjointed and without a flow. There were uncomfortable amounts of downtime between songs as the conductor clarified pages of his music with the orchestra. - I like the lion king, but they played The Circle of Life 3x in one concert so I was far less interested in it by the 2nd and 3rd times it came around. I think the replaying of that song also took away the opportunity to hear other HZ songs - the lights are always a great touch to add excitement to concerts, but many people around me at the intermission were commenting that they couldn’t look at the stage as much as they liked because the lights were so bright and directly in people’s eyes. Overall, there were a lot of great musicians and I enjoyed the experience, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get tickets again.

  • Fantastic show!

by Theatergrl on 11/17/25Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

Not sure why there are no reviews on this show yet? This show was fantastic! The orchestra, singers, and overall experience. I would go again! The well known movie music (Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, Lion King, Clint Eastwood westerns, etc.) was so much fun! The orchestra was VERY talented! The mc for the evening was a movie actor from the Pirates franchise which was really neat too. If you enjoy the cinema and orchestra music, this show is for you!

  • Not as expected

by Local on 11/17/25Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 1 out of 5

I was expecting an orchestra and connection to the movies that Hans Zimmer scored. There was an orchestra, and they were OK, but the overall music production (with singing) was not very high quality, there was little connection to the movies (other than the jokes from the mediocre MC), and there were several technical stumbles (several minutes of confusion on what song came next, lighting in the faces of the audience, late curtain closure). We left at intermission.

  • Expectedly Hans Zimmer

by Vernie on 11/17/25Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

The music and commentary were excellent but I was expecting Hans . I attended the concert at the Target Center and was expecting a little more . However I was happy to be in a more intimate setting of the Orpheum. I will never attend anything in Target center again because of its massive size and overwhelming visual and dizzying space.

  • Poorly Executed and Missed Opportunity

by Disappointed on 11/17/25Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 2 out of 5

You can tell there was some talent in the orchestra, but everything was poorly executed. Transitions were incredibly awkward and many of the songs either were played incorrectly or had bad arrangements, making them hard to identify even if you knew what the song was. The host did not help anything. He often came out late between songs or not at all, leaving long gaps of silence. When he did speak, it felt uncomfortable and forced. There was several songs that the Orchestra was doing a great job on, but then either the choir or a soloist would sing (no words) and overpower them and ruin it. There is a lot of work needed before I would consider this show stage ready.

  • Amazing concert

by AD on 11/17/25Orpheum Theatre - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

Probably one of my favorite concerts so far. However was a little disappointed that some of Hans Zimmer’s more famous tracks didn’t make it in the itinerary but it was still very good. Venue seats were also a disappointment, they felt as if I was sitting in a crammed airplane (zero leg room and not comfortable).
