Hadestown On Tour

COME SEE HOW THE WORLD COULD BE.

Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can change your fate. Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, this acclaimed new show by celebrated singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) is a love story for today... and always.

Hadestown intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell's beguiling melodies and Chavkin's poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers and singers, Hadestownis a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.

    Loved this production!!

by wcdream2 on 1/26/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

I wasn't familiar with the stories of Hades & Persephone, or Orpheus & Eurydice, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I loved the show, the story, and every one of the performers was memorable. Hermes was so articulate with his narration that I was able to follow along with the story. I loved Hades' (Kevyn Morrow's) bass voice in song - perfect for this dark character. Morgan Siobhan Green was just awesome as Eurydice, as was Kimberly Marable as Persephone, and Nicholas Barasch was stunning and beautiful as Orpheus. I will definitely purchase the soundtrack and plan to see Hadestown again. The venue (Winspear Opera House) was perfect, and we were so fortunate to get Orchestra sections seats. Thank you!!

    Delightful !!!

by Maggie on 1/25/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

From great parking, convenient tickets, wonderful seats, and a truly amazing show, this was a delightful way to finally get back to the joy of live theatre. Hadestown is the full package for a thoughtful and emotional show and… that trombone player is “da bomb”.

    Incredible

by 42 year season subscriber on 1/25/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

I consider Greek mythology gloomy but I wanted to dance in the isle with Hadestown! Everything was incredible: the music, voices, and narrative. Sometimes it is difficult to catch the words and story when experiencing a musical for the first time, but... this was very clear. I would see it again!

    Insanely awesome

by Saumo on 1/25/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

Comparing this to Broadway, I had low expectations. Orpheus is a tough character to fill those shoes. Hades was better than Broadway. Hermès was legit as well. The love connection seemed forced between eurydice and Orpheus but other than that, solid amazing performance. Even though Orpheus wasn’t AS good as Broadway, it was amazing. Most never fulfill original cast performance shoes anyways so maybe this review sucks. But definitely go see it

    Fabulous Musical!

by Cav1989 on 1/25/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

So glad for the opportunity to see this! It was such a wonderful production. My husband and I listened to the original recording afterwards and thought that some of the performers did an even better job. We really enjoyed our experience. The theater was also very nice and staff was friendly and helpful.

    Riveting

by Gmax on 1/21/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

From start to finish, this was captivating. It helps a little if you're familiar with Greek mythology. The calibre of musicianship, outstanding and the music is addictive. I would see it again.

This was our first Broadway show since the pandemic hit, and it did not disappoint! The voices were amazing, and the actors were all impressive. The story was told beautifully, and I highly recommend seeing it if it comes to a city near you.

    Enjoyed closing night

by Tania on 1/5/22Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

The venue is absolutely gorgeous. Sound quality was excellent and acoustically showed the quality of the live band. The actors/actresses successfully portrayed the characters. Some were better than others in making the arrangements their own rather than a replica of the original cast as well as connecting with the audience. Overall, I enjoyed closing night in New Orleans at the Saenger.

Excellent Show! Great for teens and adults

by Peter on 1/5/22Saenger Theatre New Orleans - New Orleans

My family truly loved our experience with Hadestown! My 19 yo daughter introduced us to the music over a year ago and we were excited to see the show. The stage presence of Hades and Persephone really invited you into the story. My 14yo son was so enchanted that he was humming along to Why we build the wall.
