Hadestown On Tour

COME SEE HOW THE WORLD COULD BE.

Welcome to Hadestown, where a song can change your fate. Winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, this acclaimed new show by celebrated singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) is a love story for today... and always.

Hadestown intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone — as it invites you on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. Mitchell's beguiling melodies and Chavkin's poetic imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Performed by a vibrant ensemble of actors, dancers and singers, Hadestownis a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.

    Best Musical I’ve Ever Seen

    by S. V. on 1/31/22

This was the best musical I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen Hamilton, Wicked, Phantom, etc.) and Hadestown left them all in the dust. Every song is amazing, the music is beautiful, the costumes are stunning, the set is mind-blowing. I cannot say enough good stuff about this. My only complaint is that I cannot get a recording of the touring cast. They are so great I wish I could listen to them forever. Do not miss this show!

    Hadestown The Musical

by Neda on 1/30/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

A Classical Greek myth set in New Orleans, with a ragtime piano, cello, accordion and trombone among other instruments on stage. This classical story, in a unique setting, features Persephone, Orpheus, Eurydice and Hades are great leads. Levi as Hermès, holds the story together as the narrator and adds his own jazz and dance. Modern themes are incorporated into the story and give you things to think about. Wonderful music, storytelling and deep themes about Musicians in modern times make Hadestown a show to see!

    Cathartic and Beautiful

by Kristi on 1/30/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

This is a wonderful telling of the Orpheus/Eurydice myth. Powerful and relevant to both community life and interpersonal relationships and the power of love and trust to change lives and heal the world. The cast/band is passionate and talented and fully transported me into the story. Thank you for such a joyful experience.

    Amazing!

by Serayah on 1/30/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

I thought the show was absolutely BRILLIANT. I’ve listened to the original cast recording for years and fell in love. I was kinda picky about the new Broadway cast recording since there were some major differences, so I never listened to it. However, seeing this show live gave me a greater appreciation for the new music. I was enthralled throughout the entire show. The lighting, choreography, the set, the blocking, the singing, EVERYTHING was so perfect!! I had tears in my eyes for about 50% of the show. I wish I could relive “Wait for Me” one more time. If I could change one thing, I wish there was better description on the seats where we sat. We sat in orchrrc row t seats 5-7. When we purchased the seats it didn’t say it was an obstructed view. However when we pulled up the ticket the day of, that’s when it told us. We called the theatre and a kind man told us it was because the sound booth was in front of us. It wasn’t THAT distracting but it just wasn’t what we expected when we picked the seats. If we knew that would be there, we likely wouldn’t have sat there. Overall it was a great experience! Thank you for continuing to have live performances even through such a crazy time!!

    Superb!!!

by Kera on 1/30/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

This was a wonderful experience, the love story was so sweet & the underlying lessons for me was that we as human beings tend to make the same mistakes over & over & have to re live our story. We write our own story by the choices we make!

Greek mythology will always be our teacher

by BBKing on 1/29/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

Loved the set, the music, and most of all...the fabulous cast who took us to Hell and back. Didn't expect the power of the story, the human portrayal of not so natural characters, the heart pounding sound of a small onstage orchestra. (Where did you hide the drummer until the curtain call?!) It's an oh so long production with several reprises on our way. I thought it was well worth my attention and appreciation. Highly recommend Hadestown.

    Loved this production!!

by wcdream2 on 1/26/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

I wasn't familiar with the stories of Hades & Persephone, or Orpheus & Eurydice, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I loved the show, the story, and every one of the performers was memorable. Hermes was so articulate with his narration that I was able to follow along with the story. I loved Hades' (Kevyn Morrow's) bass voice in song - perfect for this dark character. Morgan Siobhan Green was just awesome as Eurydice, as was Kimberly Marable as Persephone, and Nicholas Barasch was stunning and beautiful as Orpheus. I will definitely purchase the soundtrack and plan to see Hadestown again. The venue (Winspear Opera House) was perfect, and we were so fortunate to get Orchestra sections seats. Thank you!!

    Incredible

by 42 year season subscriber on 1/25/22Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House - Dallas

I consider Greek mythology gloomy but I wanted to dance in the isle with Hadestown! Everything was incredible: the music, voices, and narrative. Sometimes it is difficult to catch the words and story when experiencing a musical for the first time, but... this was very clear. I would see it again!
