About

GROUPLOVE IN CONCERT:

Grouplove's feel-good live shows make a strong case for a literal reading of the band's name. Featuring passionate performances, upbeat indie anthems, and audience participation, the band's shows are collective experiences that satisfy both musically and emotionally. Propelled by the group's accessible indie pop songwriting, 2013 sophomore album Spreading Rumors landed at No. 21 on the Billboard 2013, building excitement for their 2014 tour dates with supporting acts MS MR and Alex Winston.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Grouplove's formation reads like the plot of a '60s free love coming-of-age story. One week after making each others' acquaintance in New York's Lower East Side, vocalist Hannah Hooper and guitarist/vocalist Christian Zucconi left town for an artist retreat in Crete, where they met the band's three additional members Andrew Wessen, Ryan Rabin, and Sean Gadd. After performing their first show in LA in 2010, the band was invited on tour with Florence and the Machine, generating significant buzz in advance of their 2011 full-length debut Never Trust a Happy Song. On the ensuing international headlining tour, the band honed their performance skills and developed the sound heard on acclaimed 2013 follow-up album Spreading Rumors.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"From the opener to the encore, the entire experience was unforgettable. Grouplove puts on a great show. Very high-energy, and really engaged with the crowd. They know how to rock!"

"Grouplove played an amazing show. They had a great setlist and looked like they had so much fun doing it. Played a great encore with an unplugged version of "Cruel and Beautiful World..."

"They were amazing and energetic and crazy... it was completely contagious and you couldn't keep from bopping around with them! I had ears that they were just as awesome live as their CDs, and that is completely right."

    Wasn't expecting this

by Morgs123 on 11/3/12The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

Been a huge fan of Grouplove's music for the last couple of months, but did not expect to be blown away like we were. Best show I've seen this year...Couldn't have asked for a more audibly or visually stimulating experience!!!

Great show. Fun stage setup with table lamps. Played the whole album with a few songs from the next one mixed in.

    not impressed

by ceelobreen on 10/22/12Masquerade - Atlanta

I just felt like their performance was really uninspired and just flat, boring, unentertaining, etc. Even copious amounts of alcohol could not help me enjoy Grouplove's lackluster live show.

Best show I have ever been to

by EleJames on 10/21/12Masquerade - Atlanta

It was a great location with a sold out show. They came out strong and held us tight till the end, they even unplugged and got the crowd to shush for an amazing acoustic song.

    GROUPLOVE

by BigShow on 10/19/12Masquerade - Atlanta

Five people of like musical minds that found each other and seem to just have a blast. If the band is having fun, the audience probably is, too. They kept mentioning the good vibes they were feeling throughout the night, and they should claim a lot of credit for evoking such emotion. Check out the song "Naked Kids", which they performed, and see if it doesn't make you want to hang out with your friends at the beach and forget about everything else. They came out smiling and let themselves go, headbanging and thrashing to their tunes that don't sound like what you might think of when you think of headbanging. But they are talented at it; I'd be surprised if they don't have a chiropractor touring with them. Almost all the tunes off of their debut album, Never Trust a Happy Song, were played including "Betty's a Bombshell", "Don't Say Oh Well", and "Lovely Cup". Even when they brought out the melancholy "Gold Coast" they knew to follow it with the previously mentioned "Naked Kids" to balance the mood. Bassist Sean Gadd and lead singer Christian Zucconi switched roles for the fast-paced "Chloe" before eventually taking a break. The encore started with a completely unplugged and un-miked acoustic version of "Cruel and Beautiful World", something they claimed they had never tried before. It took some shushing of the crowd, but they made it happen. It also included "Tongue Tied", which you've probably heard on a TV commercial (can't remember the product, a car I think) and ended the night with their most popular tune, "Colours".

    GROUPLOVE was AMAZING!

    by CircaSurvive27 on 10/19/12Masquerade - Atlanta

Grouplove put on an AMAZING show at the masquerade. I had only listened to them a few times before going to the show, so every song that came on was some what a pleasant surprise. Great music to dance to, couldn't help dancing! It was so much fun! Definitely worth giving it a shot. Apart from all their energetic music, i loved when they played an acoustic song for us.. that just did it for me, I LOVE Grouplove now.

Grouplove was no doubt the best concert I have ever been to! The opening act, MS MR was great, and set the tone nicely. The energy never stopped! I can't even describe how awesome Grouplove was! I will definitely go back!

ugh i should have stayed home

by CARRIECAT on 10/18/12Masquerade - Atlanta

too bad the only good songs they played are the only good songs they play on the radio....... opening act was a yawn and everything but the encore of grouplove sucked......... i wish i had saved my $20 plus the $7 ticketmaster fee ....thank you very much....... i should have just spend my money on drinks or dinner........ i also didn't realize that most of the attendants would not be even old enough to drive yet and came with their parents.

Grouplove are fantastic performers! You can tell that they truly have a ton of fun up there, they are very lively and keep the show interesting. Their lights are awesome. All very talented and humble people, I'm sure they'd be really chill to hang out with! The only thing I didn't like was their song order, it lulled a little in the middle with two or three of their slowest, least well known songs in a row. The other thing is that I absolutely HATE going to see shows at the pageant, because I'm so packed in I can't even move. It sucks.
