GROUPLOVE IN CONCERT:
Grouplove's feel-good live shows make a strong case for a literal reading of the band's name. Featuring passionate performances, upbeat indie anthems, and audience participation, the band's shows are collective experiences that satisfy both musically and emotionally. Propelled by the group's accessible indie pop songwriting, 2013 sophomore album Spreading Rumors landed at No. 21 on the Billboard 2013, building excitement for their 2014 tour dates with supporting acts MS MR and Alex Winston.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Grouplove's formation reads like the plot of a '60s free love coming-of-age story. One week after making each others' acquaintance in New York's Lower East Side, vocalist Hannah Hooper and guitarist/vocalist Christian Zucconi left town for an artist retreat in Crete, where they met the band's three additional members Andrew Wessen, Ryan Rabin, and Sean Gadd. After performing their first show in LA in 2010, the band was invited on tour with Florence and the Machine, generating significant buzz in advance of their 2011 full-length debut Never Trust a Happy Song. On the ensuing international headlining tour, the band honed their performance skills and developed the sound heard on acclaimed 2013 follow-up album Spreading Rumors.

"Grouplove played an amazing show. They had a great setlist and looked like they had so much fun doing it. Played a great encore with an unplugged version of "Cruel and Beautiful World..."
"They were amazing and energetic and crazy... it was completely contagious and you couldn't keep from bopping around with them! I had ears that they were just as awesome live as their CDs, and that is completely right."

Grouplove. Came from Maine to Boston and was more than 10% satisfied with the show. They were amazing and energetic and crazy and just had suck a blast on stage it was completely contagious and you couldn't keep from bopping around with them!!!!! I had ears that they were just as awesome live as their cd's, an that is completely right. They sounded ahhhMAZING live!!! The Royale in Boston was gorgeous and soooo beautiful inside. I loved sitting in the balcony and think we ha the best seats in the house. Superb. I would recommend seeing them anywhere. Crazy awesome performance.
The music and enthusiasm of the band was infectious. The crowd was rockin along with the band. Visually and musically top notch. Grouplove is a definite must see band.
This was my 3rd time seeing Grouplove this year. I saw them once at FireFly Festival and once at Bank of America Pavillion and this was the best show by far. The sound in the Royale is much better suited for them than an outdoor venue and lighting/stage was great. Overall great show.
Grouplove is a really fun band with a lot of energy and great music. I definitely recommend seeing them live.
Band was great, audience was a little stagnant. Show was amazing....wish the crowd had gotten as into it as I was!
I am an avid Grouplove fan and have been for a while, so I was expecting a pretty decent show, but I got SO much more than that! Grouplove was literally so good, flawless in better terms ;). If you have the chance to see them, do it! They played probably sixteen songs which is a shit ton. Every song from their album and ep was played along with 2 or 3 new songs that were, well, wonderful :). If you are not a fan already, I suggest becoming one - they're great performers and have so much chemistry as a band. Their stuff chills me down and pumps me up: start listening!!
Great band with a ton of catchy songs! Everyone had a lot of fun with the band, would see them again.
They were incredible - so energetic and passionate and exceptionally good live. One of the best concerts I've been to period.
I started seeing this band early, and have gone to most of their shows in NYC. The simple way to describe them is fun. The band clearly is having a blast on stage and it's shared by the ever-growing crowd. This show had a much larger light show to compliment the stellar music and vocals and the finale, was over-the-top and such a blast (not giving it away). They took one song and got the crowd mostly quiet and did it a cappella - without any power. They sang with no microphones and it was the most unique thing I've ever seen. Brilliantly simple (try doing that in a bigger venue). Overall, there's no way not to have a great time seeing this band perform - if only because you know they're having as much fun as you.
This was the best show I have ever seen!! Grouplove came to NYC at the perfect time, a few days after hurricane Sandy. I cam from Brooklyn and there was no subway to Manhattan and had to ride the shuttle bus and went though the lower part of the city in the dark. Walking to the show there were many areas blocked off because if the construction crane that partially collapsed and dangling 700ft above midtown Manhattan. I started to wonder if it was going to be worth the effort to get to the show. I had heard that this was going to be a great performance. Within a few minutes after they started performing I was dancing and feeling happier than I had in days. I moved into having a high and blissed out felling that lasted for many hours! What a truly amazing experience. I would hope that anyone that gets a chance to will go and have this experience.
I first saw them at 2011 lollapalooza festival. Every show is fun, there music and stage present is never dull.
Grouplove was amazing. Terminal five, as always, was great. It was a great rockin party. I didn't particularly like the unplugged song though, terminal five is a little big for that.
GROUPLOVE put on a fantastic NYC show at Terminal 5. They are great performers & really know how to get the crowd going! Terminal 5 was a little warm, but I don't mind sweating when I'm dancing!
Only complaint was they didn't play my favorite song, but otherwise just incredible and their opening act was pretty awesome too. An A- version of Florence and the Machine
One of the most energetic bands I have ever seen live. You can really tell they love what they do.
I hardly even knew any GROUPLOVE songs going into the concert and I had an amazing time. The lighting was one of the best parts of the show, and their music sounded even better live than on the radio. They played an acoustic song with no mics or amps and it was beautiful. I had a wonderful time and cannot wait to see them again.
Amazing show! Incredible energy! Now that I've seen and heard them live, the CD is boring. They brought the music to life!
Definitely, 100%. Grouplove was one of the highest energy bands I've ever seen perform, and their unplugged version of "Cruel and Beautiful World" was intense. Even songs like "Slow" were upbeat and well-performed. I would go see them again a thousand times over.
seriously, best show ever. definitely unforgettable.
