About

GROUPLOVE IN CONCERT:

Grouplove's feel-good live shows make a strong case for a literal reading of the band's name. Featuring passionate performances, upbeat indie anthems, and audience participation, the band's shows are collective experiences that satisfy both musically and emotionally. Propelled by the group's accessible indie pop songwriting, 2013 sophomore album Spreading Rumors landed at No. 21 on the Billboard 2013, building excitement for their 2014 tour dates with supporting acts MS MR and Alex Winston.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Grouplove's formation reads like the plot of a '60s free love coming-of-age story. One week after making each others' acquaintance in New York's Lower East Side, vocalist Hannah Hooper and guitarist/vocalist Christian Zucconi left town for an artist retreat in Crete, where they met the band's three additional members Andrew Wessen, Ryan Rabin, and Sean Gadd. After performing their first show in LA in 2010, the band was invited on tour with Florence and the Machine, generating significant buzz in advance of their 2011 full-length debut Never Trust a Happy Song. On the ensuing international headlining tour, the band honed their performance skills and developed the sound heard on acclaimed 2013 follow-up album Spreading Rumors.

    worth the wait

by jessica220 on 9/16/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

grouplove has a lot of energy. this was the first time i'd seen them and i enjoyed every minute of it. i was a little peeved starting out because the tickets said doors at 7:00 - i showed up for the show at 8:00, only to find out grouplove wasn't going on until 10. not a terrible thing, but for a work night with a drive from long island, it put my night a little later than planned. but the show was well worth the wait. the energy the band put out made the 2 hour wait well worth it. they sounded better in person than i'd expected, and they ended the show with colours, which was awesome. i would definitely go to see them again!

Show was outstanding. Better than expected. I wish them well, but I know that they don't need it. They will be very famous some time soon.....

The venue was having tech problems but the bands were still awesome. It's was a small event not very many people but that made it even better, really.

    Grouplove is an unexpected blessing!

by marcifer on 4/3/117th Street Entry - Minneaplis

I went to see Foster the People in Minneapolis at 7th St. Entry and Grouplove was an opening act. I would have left happy if they were the only band that performed and enjoyed them better than any that I have seen lately. They have great vocals, guitars (love their chord progressions and strumming patters), and percussion. I didn't want for them to leave and hope to see them in the future. I hope that they keep this style of music in the future.
