Girl Talk on Tour
Girl Talk (aka Pittsburgh's Gregg Gillis) has been constructing meticulous sample-based music since 2000. His early work was known for its raw experimental nature, but by the release of his 2006 album, Night Ripper, that style evolved into genre-smashing, breakneck-paced party jams. Night Ripper consisted of over 300 songs, from wildly disparate Top 40 genres and eras, mashed up and layered together into one cohesive collage. It received critical acclaim, and the attention resulted in a rapidly growing fan base. Gillis ended up quitting his biomedical engineering day job one year later.
Girl Talk continued to develop his signature style with the release of Feed the Animals in 2008 and All Day in 2010. Each album grew increasingly detailed and complex. He steadily toured over the following years, bringing his renowned confetti-covered and sweat-soaked performances to venues ranging from house party basements to major festivals. By 2014, Gillis began focusing on collaborative work producing hip hop for some of his favorite rap artists. That same year, he released "Broken Ankles," an EP with Freeway. Since "Broken Ankles", Gillis has steadily earned an impressive list of production credits and collaborations with his artistic contemporaries including, but not limited to, Wiz Khalifa, T-Pain, Tory Lanez, Young Nudy, Bas, Cozz, Erick The Architect (from Flatbush Zombies), Smoke DZA, and Don Q. Over the course of his career, Girl Talk has packed venues such as Buckhead Theatre (Atlanta), Stage AE (Pittsburgh), and Saint Andrews Hall (Detroit) to capacity.

Your bag policy is still pretty wack. I always see people with stuff that doesn’t follow the guidelines and they don’t look like they need said items in a “medical emergency” in so if you’re going to make me throw away or hide a bag that was worth more than my ticket in then you should be enforcing that rule for everybody. Some of us are responsible partiers and don’t drink and drive or have a car to stash our stuff in. Get lockers for the outside or something.
Entry was easy. Beer lines were quick. Bathrooms were clean. Most importantly, though, Girl Talk was amazing! Sound was great. Energy was awesome. Thanks, Gregg!
The venue was good, although I don’t like that there are a lot of visual obstructions. I generally try not to go to House of Blues because of that, it’s just not set up very well for a concert. The acoustics are great though. Girl Talk was awesome, he really got into it and I think everyone had a good time.
This was a blast!!!! Such a huge party with off the chain music. I will 100% be watching tour dates and go again hopefully soon!
This was my first time seeing Girl Talk in 10+ years. It was a blast! Hugh Augustine was the opening act and he was great! Girl Talk keeps the energy going from the moment he walks on stage to the moment he leaves. Not one dull moment. I love all the balloons, confetti, and tp shooters that make it feel like such a party. The Pageant is an amazing venue too. Great night! Hope to catch him again soon.
Once again Girl Talk put on a great show. Great venue.
Girl Talk really knows how to come home and show everyone what he's made of. His concert was the best way I could have possibly spent my New Years Eve and I will definitely go again next time he's in town.
Girl Talk was fun as usual. His backdrop is simple and the main objective is to dance your butt off. I saw Girl Talk the last time he performed at Stage AE and enjoyed that performance more. Overall it was very fun to dance to his set on NYE.
Girl Talk gave a fantastic performance. The stage, monitors, confetti and balloons were all fun. I would follow him to any venue that would line him up to perform. I suppose Consol doesn't exactly allow for the dance party atmosphere achieved at Stage AE. But Stage AE does not have enough staff to handle the bar crowd. There should at least be water stations.
Excellent show.....this is the third time I've seen Girl Talk and it gets better every time. This was a sold out indoor venue so it was a bit cramped and hot but sweating from dancing at a Girl Talk show is standard. Glad to see him back
so much energy from one guy on stage! had to dance the night away!! so fun!!! definitely would attend another GIRL TALK concert again!!
Fantastic time. I would def do it again! Girl Talk puts on the best concerts.
Great show at the Outer Harbor in Buffalo, NY! Perfect setting for a summer night. Girl Talk really knows how to keep the audience involved. As fun as a concert can be!
awesome concert! the venue was different but ended up being amazing.
This was by far the best show I've ever seen, it was well organized and executed, the only downside was that there was no tailgating permitted so we were forced to park a ways away or risk getting our drinks confiscated.Overall it was fantastic and I can't wait to see Girltalk again.
The energy and location were perfect. The event started out with an eclectic mix of local acts that maintained an upbeat yet relaxed environment. Then Girl Talk took stage and everyone went wild. There was never a lull in energy. I wish I could go again.
Awesome night~~~so many ppl and dancing marathon is so cool~~~
It was a great show. I hope for more events like girl talk to come to buffalo.
Amazing show!!!!!! The way he interacts with the crowd and dances made it even more high energy!
