About

With over 25 years in comedy, Gary Gulman has established himself as an eminent performer and peerless writer. It’s no wonder the New York Times wrote, “Gary is finally being recognized as one of the country’s strongest comedians.”

A product of Boston, Gulman has been a scholarship college football player, an accountant, and a high school teacher. He has made countless television appearances as both a comedian and an actor and is one of only a handful of comedians to perform on every single late-night comedy program.

Gulman has made four successful TV specials including his most recent critically acclaimed stand-up special for HBO, The Great Depresh, a tour de force look at mental illness, which is equal parts hilarious and inspiring. In 2019 he appeared in the international blockbuster Joker. He will next be seen co-starring with Amy Schumer in the upcoming Hulu comedy series, Life & Beth, and is currently writing a memoir for Flatiron Books, tentatively titled K Through 12.

  • Not allowed to use the restroom

by Comedy viewer on 2/1/20Rating: 1 out of 5

I saw the show last night with some friends we had been drinking, like one does at a comedy show. Go to use the bathroom and find out Gary doesn’t allow for someone to return to there seat if they use the bathroom. So after paying for my first row seat I was in the back balcony standing while my stuff (bag wallet etc) was at my seat. I couldn’t return until the show was done. I will never be going to the one of his shows again.

100 minutes of non-stop laughing. He is awesome. And btw, this tour isn't a repeat of "Depresh" gig, now out on HBO. Felt fresh and new.

The seating conditions were very poor. The opener was extremely in appropriate & I would not watch him again!

  • Excellent Show

Gary was so funny and throws together some really spontaneous material. He can really connect with his audience. Had a long set and kept his fans laughing all night.

  • Comedic Genius

by TJJJJ on 1/27/20The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Great show. Gary seems truly comfortable being uncomfortable. His jokes always land and his seemingly stream of consciousness monologue is all linked sublimely and allows him for improve. Tremendous show.

  • Gary at Wilbur Theater

by Beth on 1/23/20The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This was an absolutely wonderful experience. My son and I have been a fan of Gary's since the first time we saw him on Last Comic Standing. He put on a truly hysterical, enjoyable show. We loved it. And the Wilbur Theater is a very nice venue.

  • Gary's the man

    by C. Ritch on 1/23/20The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my second time seeing Gary at the Wilbur. I saw the late show on a Saturday night. Gary did not disappoint. He was on stage for all of 2 hours with no lulls in the laughs. Won't be my last Gulman show.

Gulman rocked. Topical, funny, makes you think. Highly recommended.

  • Strange

by ABCs on 1/22/20The Wilbur - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

We just did not laugh which is so strange because we have been listening to Gary for a long time now. But we are wondering if he had an off night.

  • Gary=phenomenal. Venue=crap

by Kris on 1/21/20The Wilbur - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

Gary was hilarious! One of my favorite comedians. I always try to see any comedian at ANY other venue besides the Wilbur. Seating is awful. Cramped doesn't even come close to how awful the seats are there. If you have the chance to see Gary, definitely see him! If you have the chance to see any performer anywhere besides the Wilbur, go elsewhere. As amazing as the staff was it is Just not worth sitting sideways on a stool because the whole row is overlapping each other. The lady next to me was probably 110 lbs and 5 feet and she was complaining. In order to get up once your row has been seated is impossible because everybody near you has to get up starting at one end because the stools are all on top of each other, literally. They Rock because they aren't even touching the ground. The girl who was sitting sixth in our row needed to get up so the first five people had to get up and physically move our stools for her.

  • Funny, Charming, Bright and Real

by SMC on 1/21/20The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Gulman reveals the comedic irony, wit and joy of simple, everyday experiences in his performance. He doesn’t need to use profanity, anger or aggression to get his audience’s attention. He is a smart, thoughtful and funny comedian!

  • An incredible story teller and comic

by Suss on 1/21/20The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Always a great time when you see Gary! He delivers comedy with stories and intelligence that is unlike anyone else.

  • The Best

by Nathan on 1/21/20The Wilbur - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Gary Gulman may be the best comic in the business today. His newest set is as good as anything he's done. His comedy is complex, unique, and amazingly hilarious. Do not miss it.

  • Fantastic show...non-stop laughs

by Slainte on 1/20/20The Fox Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

Gary's humor and delivery are unique and entertaining. My wife and I laughed for nearly the whole show, which is not typical. I've seen a lot of comedians on tv, but this was my first time going to a live show and I am so glad I did!

  • Excellent Show!

  • The Gulman Experience

by Neil J on 1/20/20The Fox Theater at Foxwoods Resort Casino - MashantucketRating: 5 out of 5

Nice smaller venue with a decent warm up comedian. Gary is a great comedian and the 90 minutes went by quickly. The Meet and Greet after the show was unexpected and totally awesome!! My girlfriend enjoyed meeting him as well.
