About

With over 25 years in comedy, Gary Gulman has established himself as an eminent performer and peerless writer. It’s no wonder the New York Times wrote, “Gary is finally being recognized as one of the country’s strongest comedians.”

A product of Boston, Gulman has been a scholarship college football player, an accountant, and a high school teacher. He has made countless television appearances as both a comedian and an actor and is one of only a handful of comedians to perform on every single late-night comedy program.

Gulman has made four successful TV specials including his most recent critically acclaimed stand-up special for HBO, The Great Depresh, a tour de force look at mental illness, which is equal parts hilarious and inspiring. In 2019 he appeared in the international blockbuster Joker. He will next be seen co-starring with Amy Schumer in the upcoming Hulu comedy series, Life & Beth, and is currently writing a memoir for Flatiron Books, tentatively titled K Through 12.

  • Great show

Gary was great, super funny. It was my first time seeing him. He did the longest act I've ever seen a stand up do (almost 2 hours). I'm definitely seeing him again the next time he's in town.

  • Gary Gulman - A Tall Drink of Water!

by mfreedmancfp on 4/15/13Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

I brought 8 people to see Gary at the Wilbur on Saturday. I can't believe he went over two hours without a break. The time flew by. Gary's comedy captures both the realities and memories of the 30-55 year old age group. His Trader Joe's story is hilarious, as is his story about Greek Yogurt. What's best is that he can laugh at himsel. His ethnic humor charms the hearts of the World of Nations; anyone offended simply doesn't have a sense of humor. A great night. Don't be surprised if the cost of his tickets skyrocket in the year to come. See him now!

  • Gary Gulman is superb once again!!

Great to see a kid from Peabody come back to the hood! When he comes back to Boston, he adds a lot of humor that only us New Englanders can relate to. Can't wait for him to come back again!

  • Gear Gulman...eh...

Saw Gary before, and on Dane Cook's HBO show. Thought he was hilarious. Was disappointed this time. Over an hour and a half on the mall and supermarket...

His timing was off especially at the beginning where he couldnt really get it going. Old jokes, etc. I've seen other performances by him that were much better.

We thought the opening act was much better than the main show.

  • Gulman not what I remember

by edjr on 6/14/12Wilbur Theatre - BostonRating: 2 out of 5

I loved Gary Gulman when I saw him on Last comic standing and the few times I saw him on TV or online after that. His routine at Wilbur Theatre was awful. spent the 1st 20 minutes talking about Bill Gates? Really? I went with 5 other people and we walked out of the show.

Gary put on a show that would rival Seinfeld in content and delivery.

Gary was pretty hilarious. They were filming a special so the atmosphere in there was pretty interesting as well. His jokes were pretty great and I was definitely laughing throughout. Great seats.
