    So much fun!

by Paula on 10/24/22John, James and Clara Knight Stage - Akron

This group does such a great job-from the sets, songs, choreography to the witty dialogue and great performances. I laughed so hard I was crying and my entire group absolutely loved this show! We can’t wait to see what they do next!

Great show saw on Halloween 2019

    by J. N. on 11/6/19City Theatre - Detroit

The set pieces were great and the actors clearly spent a lot of time practicing to get every single detail right. I had not seen the Evil Dead movies before seeing the show and still enjoyed the musical a lot. It actually caused me to watch the original movies after seeing the musical. I definitely would see the musical again. Make sure you take the splatter zone seriously. I sat on the second row and didn’t realize just how much I was in for lol.

Hilarious, Gory, and a Perfect Musical Accompaniment

by ashyslashy on 11/4/19City Theatre - Detroit

Evil Dead the Musical at City Theater was a such a fun experience. I'm a big fan of the movies and the tv show and was reasonably excited to see this play. And let me tell you, it lived up to all my expectations!! The cast was extremely talented and the songs were so funny and felt appropriate to the series. I was also blown away by all the special effects they managed to work into a stage production! When they say splash zone they mean it!! I also loved all the movie quotes and other references to the films! It was such fun and not just for longtime fans. I had a friend with me who had never seen the movies and even she REALLY enjoyed it! The one thing I would have done differently is sit in the splash zone. If you have plans after the show be prepared to go to them soaked to the bone!!

    Good Stuff

For fans of the Evil Dead movies and television series, this musical has all of the sophistication and high-toned wit that we have come to expect.

    Fantabulous!!

by DebsterC on 10/29/19Sturges Center for the Fine Arts - San Bernardino

The performance was very good. The singers were spot on, enthusiastic, and fun. The band was very good. Even though there were some reverb in speakers sometimes, and the lead singers headset cut out, with a horrible crackle, the overall performance was thoroughly enjoyable.

    Greatest Show Yet!

    by spideyk21 on 10/29/19City Theatre - Detroit

We look forward to this show every year, and it never disappoints. This makes the 9th year in a row that we have been drowned in Kandarian Demon Blood. So sad that this is the last year at the City Theater.

    BEST SHOW EVER!!

by Bren on 10/25/19City Theatre - Detroit

We love coming to the Evil Dead The Musical every year, sometimes 2 or 3 times a year. This was the bloodiest show yet!! We are SUPER SAD to see it ending at the City Theater inside Hockeytown Cafe!! We LOVE the cast and it’s clear, they love their audience!!

    So entertaining!

    by H. on 10/21/19City Theatre - Detroit

I loved this show so much! I'm sad it's going away after this year, because it would definitely become a tradition. The cast was talented and fun and the music was great. You don't need to be an Evil Dead fan to like this but it definitely helps!

    Awesome

by Russ on 10/21/19City Theatre - Detroit

A really fun show. Not scary at all, but hilarious. Plenty of blood and music. If u sit in the "splat" zone, you will get messy!

    Wonderful!!!

by Dana on 10/15/19City Theatre - Detroit

My entire experience seeing Evil Dead the musical was great! The theater was easy to find and close to parking. It shared a building with a bar/restaurant so we got to wait indoors. The theater itself was clean and intimate - not a bad seat in the house. The staff was friendly and helpful and the cast was AMAZING. The only thing I would change is that my sister (whom I took for her birthday, as she is a HUGE horror fan) and I did end up sitting in the "splatter zone" but when they did shoot the fake blood into the audience, they always seemed to aim in the middle and to the right, not hitting our side at all until a little at the end when the cast came out and squirted people with ketchup bottles, which we appreciated. I did see in the program it was the last year they were putting it on, which is sad as I would love to go again. But I'm so glad we got to experience it and I would recommend both the musical and the venue!!!

I Was Repeatedly Sprayed in the Face with a Blood Hose. 5/5

by Stove on 10/14/19City Theatre - Detroit

Fantastic performance, great staff and production. The whole thing was just a blast. Second time seeing the musical, first time sat very far back and this time was up front in the second row. 100% worth getting there an hour before the scheduled time to get a close up seat. We left completely soaked and smiling. Bring a change of clothes and a bag! Will 100% be back.

    Needds better sound system

by Donna on 10/13/19City Theatre - Detroit

Campy but decent. A couple of the musical numbers wrre really goid but the over all sound quality left a lot to be desired. Loud but the words were not audible / distinguishable. My last play at City Theater. .

The show was extremely funny and riveting!! A wonderful distraction from the seriousness of our lives. The audience inclusion and interaction was wonderful!! I laughed from the beginning to the end. Must see!!

by Jodes on 10/8/19City Theatre - Detroit

Had the best time, bittersweet as we heard this is the last year they are doing this. This was our 5th year. Always in the splash zone, get ready to get drenched. Get there early, wait it out best spot to be! Hope they decide to keep going, we will miss our BOOM Stick tradition!!! Shop Smart! S-Mart.

Go see it! It could be the last year

    by D. on 10/7/19City Theatre - Detroit

As of right now this is the last year they're performing this show and I haven't laughed so hard in ages. No spoilers but wear a white t-shirt and sit in the splatter zone!
