He earned his stripes on Broadway... now the ghost-with-the-most is coming to Chicago.
It's showtime! Based on Tim Burton's dearly beloved film, this hilarious musical tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes. With an irreverent book, an astonishing set, and a score that's out of this Netherworld, BEETLEJUICE is "SCREAMINGLY GOOD FUN!" (Variety). And under its uproarious surface (six feet under, to be exact), it's a remarkably touching show about family, love, and making the most of every Day-O!
Fantastic job by the cast, so fun! Even better than expected
One of my new favorite musicals! Lydia was amazing! Her voice and acting was superb. Beetlejuice had impeccable comedic timing! My daughter and I enjoyed every minute. She had been waiting to see this for years!
This musical was amazing!!! I would definitely recommend anyone to go see this. It’s hilarious, entertaining and very well executed!!
I would see it again and again. I thought the show was full of entertainment, laughs, elaborated story line, and such a great cast!! Well done! This was also my kids first musical, they both loved it better than the movie; (thankfully some of the raunchy parts went over their head).
It made me feel all the feels. I laughted, I cried and I was mesmerized by the singing and choreography. Just a phenomenal show from start to finish.
If you've seen the movie Beetlejuice, you'll know about a quarter or so about what to expect in this stage musical. From the beginning, the show lets you know that it's going in a different direction and doesn't slow down. It's a wonderful spectacle!
Beetlejuice was my 20th live musical in the past 2 years, and it was by far my favorite. Absolutely hilarious, and it was true to the movie but different enough so that you didn't know what was going to happen. I can't believe the girl who played Lydia (Isabella Esler) is fresh out of high school. What a voice! Everybody nailed their roles, and I would absolutely pay top dollar to see this again.
This was the first time I saw a show at the Auditorium Theater and likely my last. The seats were so close together it was like you were sharing your breath with the person next to you. I purchased 6th floor seats, as that was what was available for our party size and my god the stairs are so rickety in the balcony level. There are also no bathrooms on this floor so you must either go down 3 flights of stars to the 3rd floor or all the way down to the 1st floor. There is an elevator, but it is horribly slow. I must advise any elderly or handicapped patrons to avoid buying tickets in this area if available, it is simply not accessible. Other than our seats, the show was incredible. The actor who plays Beetlejuice absolutely killed this role. He really stole the show. The actress who plays Lydia was also a show stopper, she had incredible vocals and really belted out each song; I will say it was hard to understand her at times due to her rushing some of her words, but after finding out she was a high school student I couldn't believe her talent for her age! Overall the show was spectacular with amazing choreo numbers, playful nods to the original source material, laugh out loud funny, and pretty incredible special effects on stage.
Voices were outstanding, timing was exceptional, dancing was very good (Delia was phenomenal)
Everything about this show was awesome. Great humor, great songs, great props. Go see it!!
