About

Erykah Badu, one of the world’s most revered singers, is widely credited as being the godmother of neo-soul. Badu’s blend of hip-hop swagger and smooth jazz draws inspiration from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, and has earned her a total of four Grammy nominations. Pitchfork described the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist’s 1997 debut album Baduizm as an “existential anchor of the neo-soul movement.” The triple-platinum album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and lead single “On & On” won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Badu’s enduring legacy was cemented on the road, where she has sung to sold-out crowds on multiple worldwide tours. The R&B legend has released five critically-acclaimed studio albums, and has been featured on hit songs by Busta Rhymes, Macy Gray and Janelle Monáe.

  • Erykah Inspires The World

by Elijah McCoy on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

I only wish it were about 30 minutes longer and I heard some songs from Baduizm. But I get that it was the Mama's Gun 25 Anniversary, so that's more than forgivable. Either way, she rocked the house as usual, and she looked Oh, SO SEXY! ;)

  • Erykah is awesome!

by Mari on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

Concert was set to start at 8 pm. The opening act was lackluster at best, offensive at worst. They were shut down at 8:40 pm and Erykah didn't come on until 9:40 pm. Once she was there, she was her magical self. It would've been that much better if the opening act was enjoyable and she wasn't so late.

  • Erykah Started Late, Ended Quickly & Sounded Amazing

by Ashley on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

I traveled from Louisiana to attend this show in Hollywood! The showtime was for 8pm…I arrived to the concert at 8:15 and was in my seat before 8:30. The opening act Westside Gunn never got on stage to perform (unless he performed for 15 minutes). Erykah sounded amazing! However, she did not fully perform “Green Eyes” other then singing part of the intro to the song, she did not fully perform “In love with you” she did not fully perform “Time’s a wasting” Erykah seemed like she rushed through the show in order to finish before Hollywood Bowl curfew. I love Erykah and I am disappointed.

  • Too much lull

    by Ke-Ke on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

I thought the opening act was horrible! She would've done better getting a DJ to liven up the crowd. Then there was too much of a long break between the opening act, to when she took the stage. The concert itself was good, but definitely need better time management and an opening act of the same genre or a DJ.. .stat!!!

  • 16th times a charm

by Phillip on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen her 16 times. She doesn't disappoint. She's better than ever!!!!

  • Phenomenally Erykah

    by BrownSugah13 on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Erykah was Amazing!!! The opening act was Westside guns and horrible,! I felt like I was watching a bad SNL skit on rap. He has flow but the things coming out of his mouth for 43 year old were gross! Not in line with the Badu vibes at all!!

  • Erika is always the best!

by Magonosheen on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Erika's stage performances are guaranteed to be top-notch, but when it comes to a recreation concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of Mana's Gun – Erika's (currently) greatest masterpiece – it simply had to be seen. So, I flew all the way from Japan, 5,500 miles away, to Los Angeles. This album remains, even by today's standards, a miraculous work born from the gathering of some of the world's finest musicians, who holed up in the studio for months on end to craft it into a masterpiece. It's not hard to imagine how difficult it would be to recreate that very thing on stage. Yet Erykah Badu is ever-evolving. Her voice blends masterfully with the backing singers, new grooves are subtly woven into past albums, and her presence and words powerfully yet tenderly inspire those suffering in today's harsh world. It was a magnificent live performance that not only evoked nostalgia for the past, but also demonstrated the supreme pride of an artist resisting our stifling present and forging a brilliant future. Indeed, those who consistently live up to our trust are both strong and beautiful. It is impossible to stop the feeling of gratitude welling up towards her.

  • Soulfully satisfying

    by 1ginachell on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Erykah Badu is in a class by herself. The stage show , vocals and background singers were top notch and I heard all of my favorite songs live. It doesn't get better.

  • Hipnotic: An Electrifying Concert Experience

by Taurus on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Even though she arrived nearly an hour late, the wait was absolutely worth it. From the moment she stepped on stage, she had the entire crowd under her spell. The energy, the charisma, and her connection with the audience were undeniable — she reminded everyone why she’s one of the greats. Her vocals, presence, and confidence proved she still has it and then some. The only downside was the opening act, which fell flat and didn’t match the energy or quality of the main performance. But once she took over, the night transformed into something unforgettable — truly a hypnotic experience.

  • Prefect!!

by Racali on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

  • late but good

by Lisa on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

Her concert was great however she did not start until 9:30 and needed at 11:00 on time! I just know now that she starts let but I will definitely go see her again! She was it!!

  • Erykah night

by JustaGirl on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 2 out of 5

To be a patron who frequently goes to the Hollywood bowl, Friday night was the worse experience ever at this venue. They were not allowing glass bottles and cans which have never been issues. This should have been shared when tickets were purchased and or before the event. It was disrespectful to the guests, check-in was not enough being that the line was longer than the line to get in and go through security. We are all owed reimbursement for the inconvenience, missing part of the show and having to return to lines.

  • Magical night

    by Sun_sh1ne on 10/6/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I had an absolutely magical time at the Erykah Badu concert. Her presence, energy, and voice were everything I hoped for and more soulful, powerful, and unforgettable. The atmosphere was electric, and the crowd was completely in sync with her vibe. The only thing I wished? That she could’ve stayed on stage just a little longer. Truly a night to remember.

  • Absolutely amazing

  • Late

by Pauj on 8/25/25The Fillmore Charlotte - CharlotteRating: 3 out of 5

I hate that she came on stage an 1.5 late. I stayed until 10:30 p.m. so I got to see her perform for an hr. which was great! I had to work the next day. I wouldn't go see her again due to her tardiness.
