Erykah Badu, one of the world’s most revered singers, is widely credited as being the godmother of neo-soul. Badu’s blend of hip-hop swagger and smooth jazz draws inspiration from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, and has earned her a total of four Grammy nominations. Pitchfork described the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist’s 1997 debut album Baduizm as an “existential anchor of the neo-soul movement.” The triple-platinum album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and lead single “On & On” won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Badu’s enduring legacy was cemented on the road, where she has sung to sold-out crowds on multiple worldwide tours. The R&B legend has released five critically-acclaimed studio albums, and has been featured on hit songs by Busta Rhymes, Macy Gray and Janelle Monáe.

2hrs late and the show ended too early. Not really even fully hour an half show. I should get half price ticket after this episode smh.
The show was supposed to start at 8. The band didn't start playing until 1015pm. Then they played for an additional 20min before she came out and concert was done by 11:15. Unacceptable
You have to be patient to attend her concert. The posted time was 8pm. There was no opening act. The band didn't start until 9:35pm. They played for 25 minutes. Erykah finally appeared at 10pm. If you know the Mamas Gun album the crowd sang it word for word. She even did "Call Tyrone"which is NOT on that album. She ended at 11:30pm. Her band is amazing as always.
The entire crowd danced and sung the entire time! Great show!!
I’ve seen Badu a few times and always love it however this time the concert itself was good but starting at 10:15 for an 8pm show was insane! Especially when we drove 2hrs to get there & obviously 2hrs back smh Her set was a bit over an hour, great show bc… duh, it’s Badu but man was I annoyed by the end
I really enjoyed the show tonight it was so memorable. Yes she was an hour late but everyone has their days she was amazing and aura was very immaculate. I can’t wait to see Miss Badu again❤️
I go and see Erykah every year, so this is bittersweet to write, but this week at the Hard rock hotel in Atlantic City the crowd started to boo waiting on her! I watched people start to get up and home at this point. The show was supposed to start at 8 pm and we gave her grace up until 10:15pm! She came out and gave a great but very short performance. At 11pm the fire marshall was called because Erykah invited the entire audience to come to the front stage and people bum rushed the front of the stage. So not only did we get a short performance due to her lateness, it ended because too many people were there! I still love her but I’m hoping she doesn’t turn into a Lauryn Hill!
Mama's Gun is my favorite Badu album, and I was at the first Mama's Gun tour 25 years ago, so there was no way I was missing this show. I've seen her perform no less than 15 times, yet I've never noticed her "lateness"until this show. I think it's because every show is amazing and usually at least 2 hours long. This being the Mama's Gun 25th anniversary show, I expected to hear every single song from the album. Didn't happen. And I'm still pissed about it. Going on stage at 9:40 p.m. when you know there is an 11 p.m. curfew means some songs may not get sung. She cut Booty short and didn't do A.D. 2000 and Times A Wastin', which is a travesty. She only did the first verse of my all-time favorite song, "Green Eyes,"because it was at the curfew cutoff. If you look at the setlist for this show, she actually could have performed the entire album had she not added other songs or gave one of the backup singers and extended solo. Side note, I'm actually not mad she threw in Out My Mind, Just in Time because that's my second favorite Badu song and I've never seen her perform it live. Overall, it was a fantastic time, just disappointed she didn't do every song from the album. I'm hoping for the rest of the tour, Badu does every song (which it appears happened in Vegas), so fans like myself won't be disappointed and frustrated. This was my first time at The Hollywood Bowl, and it is an amazing venue. Taking a shuttle from the LA Zoo was a great idea (even though our shuttle was the last one to leave).
A fantastic Friday night at the Hollywood Bowl. Erykah Badu is amazing artists and performer!
Upset she came out at 9:30 when the concert started at eight.
My daughter and I had an amazing time. We met people and it was a total vibe. And Erykah was amazing as I knew she would be, she sang all my favs and I was just happy to know that my 24 year old daughter and I like the same music.. Together we are such a vibe and I can't wait til our next adventure together. Thank you Ms. Badu
I was looking forward to all wonderful night of Erykah Badu, but I have mix thoughts on the whole experience. The person Westside Gunn, was not the right opener for Badu and the crowd. The cussing and frequent use of horrible language just didn't sit well with me. He finished up around 8:30pm, and Erykah came out an hour later only give the attendees a little hour of her music and honor to her 25th anniversary of her album. I'm upset, but then I'm not because this is how she shows up, always late, but with the pricing of tickets, it's very disappointing to say the lease.
She did not sign any of her great songs from the old day's
Rylan Badu is simply amazing! And the Hollywood Bowl was the perfect venue for a grown and sexy party!
The opening act was okay, but I didn't know any of his songs so it was just okay. Erykah came out late and I didn't find her performance really memorable. I was a bit disappointed.
I wad so excited to Erykah. The songs she sang were fantastic. Except she did not take the stage until almost 10. And they shut down the show at 11. Bearly more than an hour for rather expensive tickets has left me bitter. And staying in Hollywood was equally expensive. I want another hour. At least.
I expected more out of the show since it was at the Hollywood Bowl
I love this venue, I really think it’s so pretty at night. Badu was on another level this night and it was truly magical. I had such a beautiful night!
Erykah Badu put on a show!!! Absolutely amazing time!! It was my 1st time seeing her live. Which is crazy how many concerts that I've been to.. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Erykah is my girl and yes, I saw her 25 years ago. She's a great performer and I did have a good time-but I didn't have a great time. She didn't sing some of my favorites-especially Tyrone! As far as I'm concerned, that's her best song. The rapper opening for her was disappointing-although he thought he was amazing. It was scheduled to begin at 8 so by the time Erykah came out, it was after 9:30PM. I ain't as young as I used to be! I Can Make You Put Your Phone Down is also a classic, but she didn't sing it. She's a beautiful woman but looked like a character from the movie Sinners-so many vampire vibes.
