About

Australian electro-pop duo Empire of the Sun possess a well-proven ability to entertain. Known for their epic performances chock-full of production value and artistic flare, the band treated fans to one of the most exciting and synergistic concert experiences of the 2013 summer festival circuit. Accompanied on stage by a troupe of costumed dancers and state-of-the-art visuals, Empire of the Sun wowed ticket holders across the US and Europe with their energetic sets of danceable hits like "Alive" from 2013's Ice on the Dune.

Empire of the Sun began as the side project of musicians Luke Steele of The Sleepy Jackson and Nick Littlemore of Pnau.  With the success of their 2008 debut album Walking on a Dream, the project became a focal point for the duo, resulting in their first live performances as a band in 2009. In 2013, their sophomore album Ice on the Dune reached No. 3 in Australia and No. 20 on the US Billboard 200, with lead single "Alive" receiving the remix treatment by some of the world's top DJs including David Guetta, Zedd and DJ Tiesto. With their electrifying performance style, adrenalized synths, and electro beats, the duo is not afraid to push the limits of showmanship, leaving fans eager for their 2014 performances.

    empire of the sun

    by shalla4578 on 8/9/10Terminal 5 - New York

a well done live set of some good electronic songs. costumes were great. visuals were decent. his vocals sounded good. an overall good production from astralwerks and empire of the sun. i would def recommend people seeing this band live if youre into well done song writing and theatrical performances. if you dont like seeing bands that play over backing tracks, then you may not like this. if you dont mind that, youll be entertained.

Empire of the Sun better in concert than on CD

by takumi on 8/9/10Terminal 5 - New York

So I was an empire of the sun fan before I went to see the concert, but this honestly exceeded all of my expectations of what live music could be. The lights show was spectacular, the costumes were trippy, the dancing girls were.. well let's just leave it at that. In terms of the venue, It had a nice, club feel to it. I honestly think that EoTS could probably have gotten a better venue, but the hint of mustiness in the hall actually made the whole experience more amazing. I felt like my mind was being mashed out with a golden brick wrapped in a pancake, and I loved it.

    Disappointing

by Frykel on 8/9/10Terminal 5 - New York

The first three songs were great. The opening with Standind On the Shore was the highlight of the concert. But very frustrating ending with no encore on Walking On A Dream.

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. the show is as if you have entered a different planet. An empire of the sun where energy, light, lifeforms and the universal sound of music is dominant! These guys rule! A must see

    One word: amazing

    by trep13 on 8/9/10Terminal 5 - New York

This band put on an unbelievable show. The music was phenomenal. They played the songs you'd expect and they played them well. But it was the overall performance that made this show unforgettable. The theatrics and costumes were awesome. These guys are going to be huge!

    What a great show!

by Mikeyboxx on 8/9/10Terminal 5 - New York

This was so much fun! I highly recommend seeing these guys. Luke Steele is a great performer! Beware of Terminal 5 - People are very territorial on the floor. I wish Roseland would put on more shows like this.

    Flash Gordon: The Musical

by ZecaNorton on 8/9/10Terminal 5 - New York

These guys know how to put on a show! True there's a lot of backing tracks going on, but their performance is original and along with dancers, light tricks and lady Gaga-worthy costumes, this band did not disappoint. Felt like Flash Gordon, the musical!

    Empire of the Sun sucked.

by bmckew on 8/9/10Terminal 5 - New York

This show was horrible. Doors opened at 8 and i think i left at 11 and they still hadnt gone on. There was some dj that looked like ron howard that played for a bit, but all his stuff started to sound the same. all in all i would have rather have stayed home.

They put on quiet the show

    by icebear87 on 8/9/10Terminal 5 - New York

Empire of the Sun knows how to play an entertaining show. The set is great with impressive costumes and lots of good back up dancers. The show was a little short and the opening act was just a DJ that wasn't very entertaining

This was the best show I've EVER been to!!!

by Padillac on 8/9/10Terminal 5 - New York

If I could I would follow empire of the sun while they continue there walking on a dream tour. This was the best concert I've ever been to. Luke Steele is a genius in two ways: song writing and performing. This was the best performance ever!!! I recommend this to anyone no matter what age. Empire of the Sun blew my mind!!!
