About

ELF The Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF.

The New York Times says that ELF is “SPLASHY, PEPPY, SUGAR-SPRINKLED HOLIDAY ENTERTAINMENT!” USA Today calls ELF, “ENDEARINGLY GOOFY!” Variety proclaims, “ELF is happy enough for families, savvy enough for city kids and plenty smart for adults!”

Based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema hit, ELF features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer), with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone).

    Elf was elfertaining! LOL

by DJ0921 on 11/20/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

Elf was very fun for my 16 year old but most of the jokes went over my 11 year olds head. I think they were expecting more of the movie songs and they were all different. We did enjoy the show very much though. The staff at the PAC were extraordinary (as always)!

    ELF

by mrsbillboard1 on 11/20/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

Overall, my 10 year old son loved it! As a mom, I thought it was okay. I didn't care for the swear words and sexual orientation reference. I felt that the show could have done without that. However, I do love the FCPAC and what they bring to the community and will continue to support them and introduce my son to the Arts! Thank you!

It wasn't worth the money paid. We almost left at intermission.

    Christmas Spirit

by StevieLynn33 on 11/20/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

I loved Elf! It really got me in the Christmas spirit. I enjoyed that the play was appropriate for smaller children, but also had adult humor. The scene changes were amazing and the sets were very detailed. It was very colorful and the costumes were spot on. A must see!

    I'm Singing!

by UPGirl2 on 11/19/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

Elf the Musical was very entertaining. It was sweet to see all the kids dressed up for the performance with their parents and the excitement on their faces. "Buddy" had amazing energy! The cast was excellent! I was disappointed however that there was swearing included during the performance. I think there could have been a better choice of words. I wish there would have been audience participation at the end with a "classic" Christmas song.

    Elf the Musical was magical!!

by momofjp on 11/19/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

I expected the performance of Elf the Musical to be spectacular but it was better then even my expectations. I would see the show over and over again if I could. The acting and singing were outstanding. My husband got the tickets for my birthday and I can honestly say this was the best birthday present ever.

My mom and I loved Elf. The actor playing Buddy the Elf did a fabulous job portraying Buddy's innocence and fun loving elf ways. The sets were gorgeous. I now officially have Christmas spirit! A great show for anyone who loves Christmas.

    ELF was amazing

by Coffeeklatsch on 11/19/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

After a wonderful dinner at the Bella Vita Ristorante in the Copper Leaf Hotel, my wife and I enjoyed her favorite Christmas show. What a wonderful way to start the holiday season.

    Elf

by acynp on 11/19/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

In my opinion, I thought it was not worth the money. The only two actors who were remotely funny were the dude who played Santa and the lady who played the receptionist/secretary. The guy who played Elf, in my opinion was really lame. I would NOT recommend this show to anyone!! Plus did there really need to be swearing when little kids were at the show, I think not!!!!

Elf - good talent, mediocre story

by UPTraveler on 11/19/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

I enjoyed the vocal skills of the cast, but the story line was lack luster. Buddy played the part with great enthusiasm and that raised my rating from 2 stars to 3. The costumes were cute. For the most part this was a children's story - but there were a few off-color lines (I don't know why?) Overall it was Christmas-y and that's always a good thing.

Amazing performance, very high energy and the scenery and costumes were top notch. The music was great - although I did miss some of the songs from the movie. There were a few instances where "mild profanity" was used, and I felt it wasn't necessary to get the point across ... especially with my younger children in the audience. Overall, I would recommend this show ... it certainly gets you in the Christmas Spirit!

    Elf is fun holiday escape

by Anonymous on 11/19/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

Well-done adaptation of one of my favorite holiday movies. Leads were excellent - especially the actors playing Buddy, Mrs. Hobbs and Deb. The youth lead was very good as well. Fun music, awesome costumes and set and great choreography. A really enjoyable show. Only minor issue was the orchestra was a little loud at times and made it difficult to hear some really great voices and lyrics.

    Good for Kids

by Nicolasa on 11/19/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

We attended Elf Saturday night and Rock of Ages Sunday afternoon. Rock of Ages was 100% better than Elf but it is for a mature audience that doesn't mind some risque topics and language.

    Not for kids

by Jane38 on 11/19/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

Too many inspproptriate words. The humor put added for adults was not funny and totally unnecessary. The show should not be billed for families of all ages.

    Surprisingly just OK

by NOTwowed2 on 11/19/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

We went in with high expectations, being huge fans of the movie. We left feeling underwhelmed. The show was good, don't get me wrong. It just wasn't as good as we were anticipating. If you are buying tickets because you like the movie, think again. The character we were most disappointed in was Jovie. We aren't sure if it was the actress or the way the role was written. She wasn't likeable. She played a depressed and almost angry role. It will get you into the holiday spirit and you will be satisfied with the show IF you go in with lowered expectations (relative to the movie).

Enjoyable holiday event. Was very surprised to hear swearing in a family focused, holiday show; could have easily left that out.
