About

ELF The Musical is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF.

The New York Times says that ELF is “SPLASHY, PEPPY, SUGAR-SPRINKLED HOLIDAY ENTERTAINMENT!” USA Today calls ELF, “ENDEARINGLY GOOFY!” Variety proclaims, “ELF is happy enough for families, savvy enough for city kids and plenty smart for adults!”

Based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema hit, ELF features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer), with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone).

    just okay

I thought the show was a bit overpriced. I was disappointed but I also think I possibly went into the show expecting too much as Elf is one of my favorite movies.

Similar to movie but lacked heart. Not a kids show either and not worth the ticket price....

sing loud and clear a Christmas song!

by ElfWannaBe on 11/18/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

Liked the music in Elf the movie but no songs from it were used in Elf the musical!!! What gives. Baby, its cold outside would have been awesome to hear but it was left out. Santa Clause is coming to town, was replaced by a song called the Christmas Song which described a song about a song. No Christmas Spirit there.

    Well worth the money!

Elf was great! Singing was excellent! The characters portrayed the ones from the movie well. Was very short after intermission however. Could have made the second half a little longer.

I highly recommend everyone go see Elf The Musical! I'm 17 years old and I went with my 19 year old boyfriend and he also loved it. I truly believe its a show for all ages. It is similar to the movie but with some added more modern touches that will make you laugh. Get ready to be put in the Christmas spirit.

Nowhere near as charming as the movie

by Mom2boys77 on 11/18/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

I have to say, "Elf the Musical" was pretty disappointing for me. Somehow, the movie just did not translate into a stage show. The music was not particularly catchy, especially the awful "Sparklejollytwinklejingley." The jokes were flat. Overall, this was an expensive endeavor for our family that I would not recommend to others.

    Cute but Unnecessary Language

by jeh1972 on 11/17/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

I thought this musical was cute but I was completely confused by some of the unnecessary language that was used. There were many children in the audience and the words that were used at times did not add anything to the effect of the musical. I mean I have never seen a musical where the main thing I am talking about after the fact is the foul language that was used! Dissappointed that the musical did not consider their audience would have many children watching! Every time a foul word was used you could hear gasps in the crowd...

I am a senior citizen & enjoyed the Musical as much as the children.

    I've seen better than Elf.

by HillarySue on 11/16/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

The sets lacked imagination. Some voices did not carry to the family section.

    Just average

by run4me on 11/16/12Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

Overall the performance (singing, dancing, acting) was average, and not as good as I expected compared to the price of the ticket. This musical is aimed at kids and families attending and with that in mind, there was far too much swearing during the performance.
