DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS IN CONCERT:

Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers have a penchant for tradition, recording their studio albums in analog and insisting on releasing their records on vinyl. The band's traditional approach extends to their beloved live concerts, where craft and musicianship take center stage and marathon sets are the norm. The Truckers may orbit just under the mainstream's radar, but their devoted followers wouldn't have it any other way — as one of the best-kept secrets in music, the band has fans eagerly awaiting their intimate 2014 tour dates in support of English Oceans, their tenth studio album.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1996, the Drive-By Truckers' path to success was slow but steady, aided by a grassroots online presence and their constant touring. Following the release of their first two albums Gangstabilly (1998) and Pizza Deliverance (1999), the band embarked on their first US tour, further added to their reputation as consummate performers with electrifying live sets. 2005's The Dirty South marked the band's first appearance on the Billboard 200, which the band has steadily climbed with each subsequent release. Following the release of their tenth studio album English Oceans in 2014, the band will hit the road for another rollicking tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Once again DBT do not disappoint. This is a band that puts out excellent albums, and a rare occurrence where they are even better live."

"I have seen DBT 30+ times and they always make me look around for the next show! I love their energy and how they play off each other! I have never been to a bad show and this one was no different."

"As always, DBT kept me smiling and singing. Hood and Cooley took turns telling us our favorite yarns, up close and personal."

Again the Truckers brought it home with the big sound. Solid 2 hour set show casing the new release "American Band" along with hits from the bands extensive catalog. Count on this band to cuss any malcontent in the audience engaging in any monkey shines in the form of trouble along with a heart felt "get this &$*@%$ out of here. America's Rolling Stones? Yes, their that good.

DBT was excellent. Disappointed they did not play an encore...

  • Drive By Truckers at The Pageant

by Rocktot on 1/31/17The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Finally made it to The Pageant. Great place to see a show! I'll be back for sure. Drive By Truckers were on top of their game that evening. They are a must!

  • DBT rocked the Pageant!

by waylonjo on 1/30/17The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Patterson Hood was fighting the flu, but that didn't stop him and the DBT from playing for almost 2 hours and 15 minutes. "American Band" songs were prominent, but so were many fan favorites from past records.

  • Stonesque!

Melon Blowing! The DBTs Blew the Roof Off The Pageant. Played For Over Two And Half Hours.

  • Isbell was a great surprise

by TheProFromDover on 1/29/17Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Love the DBT's songs, their energy, and their performance skills, plus Jason Isbell came out and played Heathens with them. Why they always have such a muddy damn mix though baffles me. On the few tunes I didn't know I don't have a freaking clue what they sang about. If their mix was better I'd give it a five. Glad I went but don't think I'd see them again.

  • Outstanding Show!

by SundogWill on 11/22/16The Tabernacle - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Ferocious, powerful, passionate. Still the best rock n roll band in the USA, with the guts to speak their minds and hearts.

  • Fantastic Concert!

    by Lipstick07 on 11/19/16Culture Room - Ft LauderdaleRating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely loved their concert! I luckily bought their new cd "American Band" and have been playing it constantly and loving it also. My best advice is to go and see them asap. I hope they return to South Florida in the near future. The entire band connected with the audience and really were firing on all cylinders.Great Intensity! Kyle Craft was a surprisingly great opening act. Full of energy and quite good.

  • Southern rock ROI

by EmersonDameron on 10/15/16Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This isn't just the Drive By Truckers' job - it's what they were born to do. "We're not gonna do some bulls* like walk off and walk back on. We're just gonna play until our time runs out." Two solid hours of evidence that the Truckers are the most exciting and amusing traditional rock band currently touring.

  • by Batwood on 3/24/16Port City Music Hall - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Drive-by Truckers were great. I loved them! The sound was much better toward the center of the stage, to the left was the preferred seating area where I will not sit again, I was asked to be less loud by the concert police. I thought I was at a concert??? I moved into the general admission area and had a great time!

  • DBT kick ass

by Anonymous on 3/10/16Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 4 out of 5

Great venue , good crowd , always a great show. Only complaint is the sound quality was poor , particularly on the vocals , or was that just the hall?

  • Excellent Drive-By Truckers show

by EdMM on 3/9/16Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

The only thing better than seeing this band for the first time was seeing them in such an intimate venue. They were such gentlemen, playing an hour and 45 minutes of good music on top of the opening act. With their new album coming soon, I hope to see them here again.

  • drive by truckers rocked!

by bklynred on 3/9/16Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

complete guitar jam for most of the show....energetically amazing!!

  • Sound was terrible

    by Mike6789 on 10/27/15The Pageant - St LouisRating: 2 out of 5

The sound quality was lousy during the opening act and I was hoping it would be fixed by the time DBT started playing. It wasn't and I couldn't enjoy the show because of it. I even considered leaving after an hour but stuck it out. I know all the lyrics and still couldn't understand most of what they were saying/singing. Extremely disappointed. Setlist was also sub-standard, whole middle of the show the audience was just sitting there and wondering why the hell they were playing the songs they were.

  • DBT-Rock and Roll Revival at The Pageant!

by waylonjo on 10/27/15The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Going to a DBT concert is like going to an old-fashioned tent revival. It's loud, it's raucous and the DBT fans are fun to be around. Patterson draws the crowd in from the very beginning and never loses them. PH, Cooley and the rest of the DBT are great entertainers, but most of all they are great songwriters and musicians.
