DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS IN CONCERT:
Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers have a penchant for tradition, recording their studio albums in analog and insisting on releasing their records on vinyl. The band's traditional approach extends to their beloved live concerts, where craft and musicianship take center stage and marathon sets are the norm. The Truckers may orbit just under the mainstream's radar, but their devoted followers wouldn't have it any other way — as one of the best-kept secrets in music, the band has fans eagerly awaiting their intimate 2014 tour dates in support of English Oceans, their tenth studio album.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1996, the Drive-By Truckers' path to success was slow but steady, aided by a grassroots online presence and their constant touring. Following the release of their first two albums Gangstabilly (1998) and Pizza Deliverance (1999), the band embarked on their first US tour, further added to their reputation as consummate performers with electrifying live sets. 2005's The Dirty South marked the band's first appearance on the Billboard 200, which the band has steadily climbed with each subsequent release. Following the release of their tenth studio album English Oceans in 2014, the band will hit the road for another rollicking tour.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"Once again DBT do not disappoint. This is a band that puts out excellent albums, and a rare occurrence where they are even better live."
"I have seen DBT 30+ times and they always make me look around for the next show! I love their energy and how they play off each other! I have never been to a bad show and this one was no different."
"As always, DBT kept me smiling and singing. Hood and Cooley took turns telling us our favorite yarns, up close and personal."

Rock show was great. First time at the HOB in Myrtle BEach. Awesome venue. Arrived early and found a stool behind the sound board. Great spot. The opener Tift Merrit was great. Really enjoyed her songs, great band. DBT kept the show moving. Not many slower songs in the set like the last time I saw them. They kept the Jack flowing. All in all, It was a great rock show.
The show was great. I had never even heard of Tift Merrit or DBT but this was a surprise for my boyfriend and it was awesome.
Just a badass show complete with a jam with the dbt and tift merritt, and a 7 song encore
This was my fourth truckers show, and it was once again, fantastic. Tift Merritt was a great opening act, and the Truckers definitely brought the rock. They always play well in Richmond.
DBT rocked, as usual, and I was not disappointed. Got there early enough to get my standard standing place right in front and from their opening number to their 6 song encore, they jammed. This is the 6th time I have seen DBT, with 3 of those six being at the National, what a venue, you can't beat it. Would love to see DBT at National or Norva with Sons of Bill as the opening act.
concert was amazing. I hadn't listened to DBT much, went with some friends, the show was really awesome. The energy of the crowd was pretty incredible, and the music is freakin sweet.
Saturday's show was fantastic. Set list was crazy long and the Truckers played song after song with little time in between. Can't wait to see them again next time they come to The National!
I've seen them a few times, and I'm never disappointed. However, this was my favorite show so far. Thanks!
Great Rock Show....Not that I've ever been disappointed by a Truckers event but it was great to hear the cover of Warren Zevon's Play it All Night Long, a rockin' round of Lookout Mountain, and a personal favorite, Heathens. The closing tune (Angels and Fuselage) with each member leaving their sound on stage as they exited was so, so, so good. Great tribute to several great musicians and friends that have passed away recently.
3rd time I've seen DBT - far and away the best. They played a lot of older stuff and new stuff and a couple of great covers. They played like it mattered.
The Drive By Truckers were a true southern rock and roll band that puts on a show that won't disappoint. This was my first time ever listening to them and I was highly impressed and would recommend to anyone that likes good real music!
Another great ROCK show by the Truckers. After playing some of their best songs early the band dipped into some rarities, that are comming out in Sept. that went over pretty well with the sold out Jackson crowd. All I can say is the band was as hot this night as the venue! Well worth the 3 1/2 hr. drive from TN.
