DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS IN CONCERT:

Southern rockers Drive-By Truckers have a penchant for tradition, recording their studio albums in analog and insisting on releasing their records on vinyl. The band's traditional approach extends to their beloved live concerts, where craft and musicianship take center stage and marathon sets are the norm. The Truckers may orbit just under the mainstream's radar, but their devoted followers wouldn't have it any other way — as one of the best-kept secrets in music, the band has fans eagerly awaiting their intimate 2014 tour dates in support of English Oceans, their tenth studio album.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1996, the Drive-By Truckers' path to success was slow but steady, aided by a grassroots online presence and their constant touring. Following the release of their first two albums Gangstabilly (1998) and Pizza Deliverance (1999), the band embarked on their first US tour, further added to their reputation as consummate performers with electrifying live sets. 2005's The Dirty South marked the band's first appearance on the Billboard 200, which the band has steadily climbed with each subsequent release. Following the release of their tenth studio album English Oceans in 2014, the band will hit the road for another rollicking tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Once again DBT do not disappoint. This is a band that puts out excellent albums, and a rare occurrence where they are even better live."

"I have seen DBT 30+ times and they always make me look around for the next show! I love their energy and how they play off each other! I have never been to a bad show and this one was no different."

"As always, DBT kept me smiling and singing. Hood and Cooley took turns telling us our favorite yarns, up close and personal."

Really great show! I 100% appreciate the safety measures that the Pageant has put in place. We skipped a show the night before that did not require proof of vaccine or negative test.

  • Great show, vocals were not very clear

by rkeyfour on 10/5/21The Pageant - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Would have liked to be able to hear the vocals more clearly

  • Amazing

by Tricia Sieberns on 10/4/21The Pageant - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

I had the best time. The venue was amazing. I loved the set up and the sound. The only problem I saw was that i couldn't find a trash can to throw my stuff away. I wouls definitely like a repeat of that night.

  • the irony of superb, seasoned, and simpatico musicians...

by PeterB on 2/26/20State Theatre - PortlandRating: 3 out of 5

The irony of superb, seasoned, and simpatico Musicans like Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley is that they practice their craft at such a high level of performance that it's easy to overlook the fact their product can become bland and boring. While they performed songs I've loved for nigh 20 years, they're not doing anything truly new and exciting. I left before the show ended, feeling that i'd seen all I needed to see, and i don't need to see them again. When i first saw DBT in 2001, they had a punk edge they tried to recreate in this performance with a very good cover of the Ramones' "The KKK took my Baby Away," but their mastery of the material couldn't conceal the fact they are a safe, sure-fire commodity, lacking any edge or capacity to astonish veteran listeners.

  • Awesome show!

by Tara on 2/24/20Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

What a great band! Cannot recommend the show enough!

  • The Rock Show

by Lee on 2/24/20Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

DBT is the best live band out there right now. They are at the top of their game. Over 2 1/2 hours without a break, they played several songs from their tremendous new album, “The Unraveling”, along with plenty of others from their deep catalogue. Great crowd, great time. If you’ve never seen them, do yourself a huge favor and get there next time.

  • Incredible Performance

by RudeBoy on 2/24/20Webster Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Ok so in my time I have seen over 1000 shows and this show definitely broke my ALL TIME TOP 50 and most likely my ALL TIME TOP 20 and thats saying a hell of a lot. This was the most incredible and riveting Drive-By-Truckers show I have ever attended and I want to see more on this tour so who knows what show is up next for me.

  • Love Lu

by Pres on 2/11/19The Ritz - RaleighRating: 5 out of 5

Lu is a tremendous artist. Her Pairing with guitar slinger Stuart Mathis is brilliant. It is his show at times. All band players synchronize into a special experience and add brilliant color to Lu's writing.

  • Great Southern Rock

by Stretch on 2/10/19North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

Another great rock show by the Dance Band of the Resistance. Nothin’ fancy, just good old fashion rock n roll. They even premiered some new music.

  • Drive By Truckers at North Charleston PAC

by Ruth on 2/8/19North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

Ive seen the Truckers many times and this was by far the best concert they have given. I loved the politics of it all and especially loved the ending when they all faded off the stage. Good job!

  • Great show

by lemmy999 on 9/30/18U.S. Cellular Stage at the Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This is the 4th time I have seen DBT but the first time I had seen them since right after Isbell left. They definitely didn't disappoint. The classics were great as usual but for me the highlight was the 4 songs from the most recent album "American Band".

  • Awesome band

Great band, great music ad usual. Venue doesn't have an accessible searing area for wheelchairs anymore. Shame

A true rock show from the greatest band you’ve never heard of. If you need a face melting, the Truckers are the band for you.

  • DRIVE BY TRUCKERS - True Rock Show!!

by muuzikfan on 2/6/18Moore Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

Iv'e been seeing live DBT shows since 2008 including everytime they play the Showbox, Ft. Lauderdale, Tipitinas in NOLA, Denver, and now at the Moore, at least 12 times. Only one show at the SODO Showbox location was lacking in 2013. Hey, every band is entitled to a slow night! I love their stripped down, hard rockin Southern perspective and great story telling. These guys sing from their hearts and I agree with their political/social views. So cool that Patterson has relocated to the great NW in Portland. All of these guys are crack musicians and you know they are having fun on stage, especially the bass player with his incredible grin/smile throughout the show. Go see them!! See you at the Rock Show!!!

  • DBT

    by DN5269 on 2/6/18Moore Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a fan of the Truckers for a long time. Seen them many times. Seen them evolve as a band musically and personally. I have to say... the show I just saw at the Moore here in Seattle blew me away! They skillfully blended songs from their entire catalog to create a show that left you energized, fired up and even amazed! Well done DBT! Well done!

  • Great band, lousy sound system

by Aeneid on 1/31/18Sioux Falls Orpheum Theater - Sioux FallsRating: 5 out of 5

As always The Truckers played like they meant it. This is ,after all, one of the most talented bands now touring. This made it even more unfortunate that the sound was murky, lacking clarity, and difficult to hear the lyrics of these fine songs. Also repeated strobe lights flashing directly at the audience was unnecessary and annoying. With music this good, the cheap theatrics were surprising to us.

  • I've seen these guys have better shows.

    by JLBRU58 on 10/10/17Newport Music Hall - ColumbusRating: 3 out of 5

Big DBT fan!!!! That being said this was the first of 30 plus shows that we ever left early. I don't know if they were having an off night or if time is catching up with them. Plus the last couple records just weren't that great in my opinion. We love the band but we're disappointed with this show.

  • The Rock Show

Still riding a wave of a new successful album and new revitalizing fans joining the old and loyal. Surrender Under Protest live needs to be seen! Tributes to Petty done well and tied to Trucker tunes. 25 kick ass rock songs!

Rock is not dead! It kicks and screams with DBT. Very solid tight band. Non stop ripping thru their best songs . Pack as many songs as they're can within 2 1/2 hours
